1. That bass was made for someone with a lot of time on their hands -- like me, even posting about it.
2. The only thing that is Framus is the neck, which was removed and placed on this, shall we say - "hybrid?" Look at the reverse bottom of the neck and you can see the heel which was pulled off an original Framus body. Yikes! Whose idea was that?
3. Sonic blue. PB #1485. Originally a ProIIe body. Original green 'NAT' on body neck socket confirmed with Pete Stevens (Wal) that this was an original Wal body in natural. Top horn was modified to resemble an Alembic or the very first Wal, circa 1974. I had the horn expertly rebuilt to the exact original size. I also had the included ProI electronics as a spare so the extra area in the body was filled to fit the electronics. Fretless neck was purchased directly by me from Pete Stevens and is dated December 1987. All original Wal parts except Schaller tuners, which are new. Body was refinished in Sonic Blue by national expert, Pat Wilkins of Wilkins Guitars in Burbank, CA, USA. Plays well and is in excellent working condition. Comes with original brown Wal hardshell case. $2500US. Buyer pays shipping, approx. $40 domestic USA. For UK, Europe shipping I can only ship using Federal Express or UPS. Please go to their sites to figure shipping costs. My zip code is 85452 in the USA. 4. Saw them last week at Wembley. Was able to say 'hi' before the show:
5. Jamerson playing in his unorthodox one-finger bass playing. He was the best!
6. One of these days I'd like to go to Mansons. I've been a real fan of his basses, especially the ones JPJ is using.
7. "Sitting behind me were Macca and H Mills, Ringo and his missus and...Tom Hanks! Didn't know whether to look at the stage or them." I remember seeing them there. They were with Tom Hanks in the private section.
8. Thank you, gentlemen! Crazykiwi - good to hear from you again, my friend!
9. I have the same one but in mint green. Quite a fun bass with a large semi-hollow thumping sound. Only negative - the tone knobs do nothing. Bought it for $375 with case here in the USA, which is about half in sterling.
10. Greeting from across the pond in the deep desert Arizona state! First time post here. Was part of the old Bassworld and enjoyed that site also. Looking forward to meeting some great UK members. The focal point of my collection are my Wal basses.
