But I don't know if I count as I copied my brother holding a guitar when I started and consequntly I play right-handed. Maybe I'm a freak?
I did the same thing! Your no freak! I couldnt afford a left handed bass and didnt have the brain to turn it up side down, so i just learned right handed! I'm the same at golf, left handed but play right handed! D.
2.
That Ric looks Fantastic. The white on white looks really good on the precision!
Thanks bassboy, i cant talk about my rickenbacker, i get too excited!! I was going to change the scratch plate on the fender to a black one but now that i've seen it properly,i think the all white looks real nice. i'll get a badass bridge for it. D.
3. How's it going thomas? welcome to basschat. do you play any stray cats? D.
4. I'm in love with this just now, My 1996 Rickenbacker 4003,fitted chrome scratch plate today! . I bought this the other week for £300, Fender standard Precision MIM. I used this for 10 years and never let me down, good all rounder,Hohner The Jack Bass Custom. I Picked this up on ebay for £120 ,havent used it much but feels and sounds good. This is an Aria pro2 IGB-SPT, i sent it away to a pro paint sprayer (brian sheperd of Fantasy bike art, brighton),damaged a bit now cause i had it displayed on my wall and it fell off duelly landing on my cat (he hates basses now!) and smashing a glass coffee table but it still looks good...... apart from a hideous headstock and plays like sh*te, though i love it! No idea what this is!! Anyone?? Got it in this state from a friend who was clearing a flat he owns. What should i do to it? All you see is all i've got, no pick-ups,bridge ,it's got active electrics and a through neck!
5. You've just gotta love 'hit me with your rhythm stick' by ian dury and the blockheads. Anything by The Jam. Holiday in cambodia by Dead Kennedys. Neat neat neat by The Damned. Some of the bass lines on the 12" singles by Duran Duran i thought were particularly good! Hysteria by Muse.
6.
Punk tribute. Awesome!
It's such a good laugh, pretty easy to play (clash, pistols, etc), i get the chance to dress up like i'm 16Again! and i've had the chance to meet some really cool people! But then the downside is we only get £50 a gig but then again we only play (at full tilt) for 45 mins Bloody tiring though
7. Thats alot of rubbing down, You should go for nitromorse, great stuff just watch yee dinna burn yer skin! i've got a ricky style body you couldve bought for your project but i might do something with it myself, if i can be bothered. How much would your sister charge for a paint job? oo eer! Or is she just dong it cause it's you?
8. If certain bass players want noticed they have to come out of the shadows! I was guitarist ( ) for a punk band a few years ago and the bass player we had then totally used to annoy me by practically hiding behind the drums! if you want to be noticed it easy enough! But i think most tv producers etc dont really care about any band member apart from the singer! I hate bands with no bass player....white stripes, yuck, whats the point of them?
9. Dull bass lines (maybe not the worst but defo most boring) for me would be; Anything by oasis. Anything by snow patrol. Waterfront by Simple Minds. Pretty Green By The Jam (Bruce foxton is my fav bassist but that bass line is just soooo boring)
10.
Howdy! That you with your Ric? Cool!
i is fine thanks. yip that me with my ricky! Just got it a month ago, i love it, wish i got one years ago!
11.
16 Again, as in the band? If so, I saw you guys down at The Moorings a while back, it was a great gig. The name "Badass" stamped on the bridge is worth the money alone Seriously though, I would say that the sturdier the bridge, the happier I am. I used a Hipshot bridge for my last project, and I'm going to use a Badass for my next one for sure. Besides, you can pick 'em up on evilBay for 50 quid, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things. If you don't like it, you can always re-sell it.
Aye, as in the band! Glad you enjoyed the gig Neepheid! My mind has been made up, defo going to get one. cheers.
12. oops, never noticed that! i've read it but it dont tell me one thing! Is the difference a Badass bridge makes worth the extra money?
13. I just bought a beautiful arctic white standard fender precision (mexico) and i'm thinking about changing the standard bridge to a badass bridge! is it really worth the money?? i've never modified any bass.
14. Hi All, i've been watchin the forum for a while, so it's time to say hi!
