1. f bass: played on paul turners when it was at the gallery..... just wow! the tones, woods, feel and asthetics all fantastic! i really want one of the bn5 models. Dream bass for me no higher praise than tht!
2. oliviasvintageguitars.com My favourite, just know it so i can dream of one day having such basses
3. hi do you know how much these roughly retail for? I have a Fender American Deluxe Jazz bass V in a stunning transparent red that i want to trade for a warwick 5 string fretless. But i think there might be too much difference in the prices for me to make up
4. i spent too long ignoring people who said i had a weird technique and that i needed to read music. 6 months at acm and im completely different, a whole new right technique and the left is now solid (for such small hands)! And i think im at quite a good level of reading. So yh bass lessons. Worth having with anyone who's good enough to teach!
5.
They played a while ago in Lithuania.. Then, juding from their Myspace, I wasn't very tempted to see 'em, somehow, eh..
well its all down to taste of music, but if you like funk and a band with lots of energy i think you missed out
6. were superb tonight! it was my first time seeing them and i really enjoyed. I would go as far to say as its the best thing since the Saturdays were in FHM Well done Stefan and the rest of the band for putting on a great show. If you havnt checked them out yet i really think you should go on their website and find a date to see them asap
7. mex p bass if its a good one....... if the pickups arnt great i cudnt recommend lindy fralin pick ups enough! changed my p bass in so many good ways. Also flats on a p bass i recommend elites, better made and cheeper than rotosound and after a while have a relly great tone!
8. james jamerson and bob babbit....... also BENARD EDWARDS!! havn't seen that name yet
9. If you want good quality and clarity my lightweight hartke hydrives for sale
10. iv had 8 in 6 years, 12-18 ... and with only having 4 left so iv made massive losses but what else would i get for birthday and christmas
11. what about playing bass for jay z? i dont like much of his music but i would happily play bass for him for nothing. Its why i like playing rock gigs, if you get everybody there behind you, its a rush of energy you cannot match. And Jay Z got loads of energy at Glasto. His performance of 99 problems with the AC/DC riff was very cool. Speeking of big gigs who's goin to see Jamiroquai and Stevie Wonder this summer in hyde park? Personally i cant wait
12. pop and rocks still fun, you dont have to just play jazz to enjoy bass ... Musics got many styles, if you just get locked into one, then IMO your not much of a musician ....... I met Janek and although he does say hes a "jazz player" he didnt play all that much jazz when doing a 2 hours masterclass. Ps. I quite like VV browns songs, they dont blow you away with spectacular solo's and chord changes but their refreshing and easy songs to listen to
13. i have always wondered what strings damage what fretless boards? I had been told to just use flatwounds on an ebony board, but what about ebonal, maple or rosewood? Or is it one of those things that is different on different basses depending on the grain of the wood?
14.
Bargain. and loads less in weight than the old XL series. I loved them, but the weight was horrific.

Brilliant! I've just picked up one of these myself and will be looking for a second one I reckon! Guildford is a bit out of the woods though! lol
cheers guys, i wouldn't be selling it but most venues iv recently played at dont require my cab and its definately too big for just playing in my bedroom!!!
15. This probably isnt as helpful but i recently compared a MM jazz bass and an origional 1976 jazz bass. I personal preffered the tone and feel of the MM bass. The weird thing is though the MM didn't seem as versatile as the 1976 jazz but then thats probably because of the old strings that were on it. From what iv heard the American Standard seems to be a modern take of a 60's jazz bass. If you want both sounds, get the American Deluxe. The new ones with the bound necks look awsome to me.
16.
Dafyd Lewis does this kind of work. He's down here as daflewis. He's approachable and a great player.
cheers il send him a PM
17. Hi, im currently studying bass guitar and music and something that interests me as a potential career is West end/ musical work in the pits. Iv been told a great experience is to watch a bass player in the pits and see what they do, so i was wondering if there was any player on here doing regular london musicals thats kind enough to let me sit in and watch for a show? cheers, Ollie

19. warwick basses are a love or hate thing. I havn't yet found one that iv liked and i dont like the tones. But i have a stingray because it has a great tone that seperates it from most other basses. But again it isnt very versatile unless you get a really nice one like the 20th anniversary stingray 5 HS... had lots of cool gadgets yet the amazing feel of a stingray, trouble is they seem rather rare AND EXPENSIVE!
20. I played on 67 p-bass at wunjo guitars in denmark street, i think i played on it for about an hour and a half! best bass iv ever had the privilage of playing and no vintage bass iv played on since has matched it.. But i put lindy fralin pups on my mex p-bass and for now thats going to do what a p bass does......... everything!
21. this is going to sound stupid as im sure noel redding most likely just had loads of gain on his amp but the crispy tone in songs like wait until tommorow is kinda what i was after... hope that helps?
