1. I have been after a jazz body for a while and now im faced with the dilemma of choosing between a stock Mexican standard jazz body(alder) and an allparts one(alder with traditional rout),and they also weigh pretty much exactly the same. so my question is simply which is better and for what reasons?
2. I thought that was the sort of amount, my mate got about 70 quids worth of strings from the states and didnt pay a penny, think he was lucky and slipped through the net! and tried the "can you send as a gift please" but the item i was after buying was being sold by someone taking the moral high ground!
3. Does anyone know the maximum amount you can get away with not paying duty on importing something from the states?

11. anyone know where i can get some of these? they originally come with ears new,but the mark bass site just shows ones for the little mark/f1 etc.
12. For sale my peavey tour 450 amp. Racked since new (about 7 months old)so in basically new condition(just took it out of the rack for some pics and its immaculate) These seem to go for 220 so I have priced this the same. may also be interested in trades, let me know what you have. Comes with manual but the box is long gone. Collection preferred but could be couriered at buyers expense, although i could deliver within a reasonable distance for the cost of fuel.
13.
A friend bought a Classic Vibe jazz and fitted an East pre. I tried it and it blew me away. Amazing, and worth every penny.
Wow, that upgrade cost about as much as the bass did!
14. many thanks, well that's my pickup covers sorted! That pre looks the nuts, seems a little pricey at about £200, anyone had any experience with them?
15. im currently in the process of putting a jazz together from bits and bobs brought on here and elsewhere, so for a bit of inspiration i had a look through google images and came across this. not sure if its the aged white pickups that do it for me but i really like the look of this bass and im quite intrigued to know exactly what it is,ie year model etc, and also what pickups are they? i think they might be dimarzios but im not sure, and i also cant find anywhere on the net that sells aged white pickup covers, so any help in that area would also be appreciated.

19.
Same here (and the set BB has also came from me and they fitted the same neck no problems) C
I have anther Japanese fender from about 96 with what looks like the more substantial us tuners, but the holes on the 62 ri neck seem smaller, did you have to do any modifications to make the 70s ones fit on your neck burrito?
20. Just gave that a try but to no avail, the easier option seems to drill them bigger for the us versions which by my measuring would cover the original holes to the rear.....doesn't seem like a job i would want to undertake though!
21.
Yup looks like it had Japanese tuners. Not sure I know what you mean about the bushes and tuners. US tuners won't fit through Japanese bushes. Here you go
So do i have to get stock japanese tuners or are there replecement, gotoh/grover/wilkinson etc?
