1. As far as I know Gerald Marleaux was an apprentice of Andy Schack....that might explain a few similarities in their designs for instruments, electronics etc. Btw: Very nice bass, my main instrument for quite some time was also an older Betra (neck through, different woods & pu/electronics config though). Those Betras balance and play extremely well and weigh next to nothing! I miss mine...
 2. Very nice bass. Is there anything wrong with it? Just considering you bought it less than a week ago....
 3. Sabian bought a Glockenklang preamp from me. Friendly communication, fast and easy transaction, no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended! Thanks and all the best, Janis
 4. Hi everyone, I decided to sell my Glockenklang 3-band preamp, 5-pots-version. Controls are volume (active/passive push-pull), balance, bass, mids, highs (acts as passive tone control in passive mode). It's as good as new, never used it. Everything pre-wired and ready to go. Bought it from a friend (who bought it new and only tested it for a day or so) to fit it into my old Streamer, but I simply don't have the heart to drill another hole in the body.... Pic: Pricewise I'm looking for 90£ incl. shipping - SOLD. If you got any questions, feel free to ask. Cheers Janis
 5. Since I had some great transactions here over the last 2 years or so, I thought it may be time for my own feedback thread. So feel free to write about your experience if you bought/sold something from/to me. Cheers Janis
 6. Bought a nice Aguilar GS112 from Ben, very happy with the transaction! Great communication and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended. Thanks Ben! Cheers Janis

 8.
sent to Poland 32540 ? how?
What?
 9.
pm sent
Sorry, just paid for it...
 10.
May I ask what happened? I remember this beauty being flawless when the guy from Spain sold it...problems with the shipping? Is the problem deep or is it just the surface?
I was very tempted to buy this bass when it was for sale last time, so I'd also be interested in an answer to those questions...
 11.
That SR7005 is truly stunning! I've not seen the maple wings before, so maybe what I thought was a 7005 was actually the old 5005 - I think that had mahogany wings. Either way, I agree that these 'custom made' basses from the mid-90s were probably the pinnacle of the SR range. Those old MIJ SR's are definitely worth a shot if you can find any.
Yes, definitely. Those basses are really undervalued these days. I believe there were different versions of the 7005, so you could be right about the mahogany wings....but I don't really know as there are so few of them around. Also the main difference to the 5005 seem to be the upgraded custom bartolini pickups and electronics, while the bodys/wings came in different woods. Here is one that seems to be mahogany.
 12. Just wanted to mention that the 4 ohm-version of the 212MBE isn't available anymore...
 13.
Satrugar, thats a VERY nice SR, maybe the finest I've seen. I pulled back in the last second today, sat and played the 5 stringed version and could never feel well with the position the right hand "gets" on it naturally. Unbalanced in a strange way because it really shouldn't! But it is...strange design.
Thanks, I also quite like it (although mine has a bit more wear...). Well, if you didn't feel comfortable with the premium SR then it can't really be helped. Although maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it.... For example I normally play basses with 19mm stringspacing and at first it felt weird to play the SR with 16,5mm, but after a week or so I started to adapt to it and now I don't have any problems with that any more. Actually it's pretty comfortable now...
 14.
An SR7005? The one with the walnut tone block? Those are really rare. In fact, I thought that was a custom shop model? Certainly that and the original SR5005 (not the Wenge faced ones that came out in 2009) were always the holy grail of Soundgear basses.
Exactly, walnut toneblock with maple wings and wenge/bubinga neck with wenge fingerboard. Custom Bartolinis and 3 band Bartolini NTCT electronics with 3x switchable mids module, i believe it's called MCT-3MC. It's exactly this model, those are the only pics I could find on the net: And you're right, those instruments seem to be extremely rare....when I bought it I was told it was a custom endorser model made for the bass player of Melanie Thornton sometime in the 90s... And I have to agree once more, I found the newer wenge-faced SR5005s to feel and look quite a bit....hm, "cheaper" compared to the older series. Anyway, I'm very happy with my SR7005.
 15. I also find the premium SRs pretty nice... But just as geilerbass said, I'd be on the lookout for a used Ibanez Prestige. They are greatly undervalued on today's used market. For example: A few months ago I found a extremely nice SR 7005 MP from the mid-90s for a pretty good price. It's a fantastic instrument, I definitely like it better than the premium instruments.

 18. Amazing instrument! I just came back from a 2-day factory tour at the Warwick plant and got to try pretty much every Warwick there is. The Starbass was one of the most impressive instruments I played there. Absolutely amazing tone and great playability! Btw: It's an Ovangkol-neck, not Wenge. Only the fretboard is made out of Wenge.
