1. Price reduction: 550£ Plus special Christmas offer: I'll cover all shipping costs if it sells in the next few days.
2. I wouldn't worry about that.... For quiet gigs, jamming, practice etc I sometimes use my Shuttle 9.0 with just one of my Eden EX110 cabs (1x10", 300W, 8 Ohms). No problems at all, as long as you don't try to push it to full stack-like volume. And your Berg should be able to handle quite a bit more.
3. Thanks, pantherairsoft! It really is a great bass and for sure the best Ibanez I have ever played.
4. Bump. Now also considering trades, preferably +cash my way.
5. What a wonderful bass, I want it! Hmm, let's see....judging by your collection of instruments you'd surely love to trade it for my Ibanez Ashula, wouldn't you?
6. Hi! I'm selling a very nice, but rather unconventional and rare instrument: my Ibanez Ashula in absolutely mint condition. I guess most of you have already heard of it somewhere on the forums. For those of you who haven't, here's a quick summary: - 6 strings, 4 fretted and 2 fretless - normally tuned EADG-DG (conventional 6-string-tuning also possible, as seen in the second attached video) - individual pickups and preamps for the fretted and the fretless section - Jatoba/Bubinga neck, Ash body, Rosewood fingerboard - limited edition for 2010, so not available anymore A detailed review from fellow basschatter pantherairsoft can be found here: http://basschat.co.u...2010asc-ashula/ I hope he doesn't mind me linking it. The bass is in perfect condition, not a single mark on it. Comes with original hardcase (also mint condition), strap, straplocks and manual. Pics: Here are some videos about the Ashula: I'd like to have £550 for it. Now also considering trades (+ cash). I'm based in Germany, but shipping is no problem. The Bass will be sent well protected in its hardcase and a thoroughly padded box. I've already traded and bought some stuff here and shipped several basses to the UK, so I guess I know what I'm doing. If there are any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, Janis
7. I also have a Shuttle 9.0 and can confirm that using it as a power amp works perfectly. Most of the time I just use the built-in preamp (as it is great on its own), but when I want a completey different sound I just plug my VT Bass into the receive of the effects loop and use that as preamp. Easily as good as any power amp I've ever used....plus it weighs nothing, fits into my gigbag and it gets MASSIVELY loud. And it already has a nice valve-preamp on board. Lows are great, no complaints at all.
8.
Ah ha!! I wondered whether this bass might have had a little bit of history to it. Thx for the kind words, it is one of the best basses I've tried (and I've tried the vast majority of them over the past 20+ years). I just so wish I could get used to the 5 strings...old dog new tricks (very very old dog!).
I agree, it's also one of the best basses I've played so far. It has been my main instrument for about 2 years here in Germany until I thought I'd try something different. Traded it in for a higher value bass here on basschat and regretted it soon after, as the Bongo turned out to be the far better instrument.... Btw, the b-string on this bass is killer! Well, I guess there will be another Bongo in my life as soon as I have some spare money to spend. Preferably a HS again as I think it's the best configuration for this bass, but they don't turn up very often. Especially not in such a cool (and rare) colour. Think hard if you really wanna do this....imho it's not THAT hard to get used to the b-string, it just takes some time and practice... At last, a few old pics I found on my pc to drool about:
9. Ohhhh, that's my old Bongo! Fantastic instrument, I still miss it... If I had the money right now I'd try to buy it back. Be assured, this is one hell of a bass!
10. Traded an amp with Marc a few months ago. Very friendly communication and a pleasure to deal with him. I also highly appreciate that he took the risk to trade with me, being a total newbie here (and even being from Germany ). Thanks Marc! Oh, and sorry for the big delay... Janis
11. If I may help (got the same bass, just fretted): I have 1 stacked volume/balance pot, 1 mid pot and 1 stacked treble/bass pod. Pulling the vol/bal pot puts the preamp in passive mode. The twin J's normally run as 1 pickup wired in parallel mode. Pulling the treble/bass pot switches off the "middle" half of the twin J, so only the outer coil works as a normal J-singlecoil. So effectively you can switch between J/TJ and J/J configuration. Should be the same on this lovely fretless, I guess. Anyway, have a free bump on me and good luck selling this beauty. Janis
