  1. This is a very reluctant sale due only to bad GAS attack for a bass that has come up for sale and that has been on my Wishlist for a while.  Since I have two other J basses this has to be the sacrificial lamb.

These basses were made as part of a limited run in 2021.  The have a factory road worn finish in Nitro, matching headstock, stack knobs and (unusually for a 60's type bass) 9.5 inch radius.

The full spec is below.  The bass weighs in at 9lb 1oz, a very reasonable weight for a Jazz bass.  The finish is faded Olympic White.  I’m not sure that I have done it full justice in my pics as I’m not a great photographer.  A vintage-style Fender hard case included.

There is plenty of info & demos on t'interweb.  You really won't get many chances at one of these, particularly in this colour.

  2. SOLD ELSEWHERE

For sale is my Ibanez AGB200 Artcore Bass, a semi-hollow, single-cut design with a maple top with ivory multi-binding on maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearl dot position markers.

The serial number dates this to 2007 (an S plus 8 digits) so as this bass was only introduced by Ibanez in 2007, this must be one of the very early ones.  It was produced in China.

The bass is in good condition, there is some very light marking on the top of the headstock and a small paint chip in the neck that has been touched up.  Please see the pics for more detail.

I have a decent gig bag for the bass, but no hard case so would prefer not to ship if at all possible.  Happy to have the bass collected or meet up somewhere to hand over.

Price is a very modest £325 for a beautiful looking and sounding instrument.

If you have any questions at all or require additional pictures of any details, please ask away and I give as comprehensive an answer as I am able!  Pics are below.

  3. Hi folks.

For sale is my Spector Legend 4 Classic Ash Black Cherry in excellent condition.  The bass has never left the house and is unblemished as you can hopefully see from the pics.  The finish is a gorgeous Black Cherry, my personal favourite Spector colour.

It's a nice weight at under 8.5lbs (3.8kgs) and will come with a good quality gig bag.  I would prefer collection or meeting up somewhere if possible/practical.  I do have packaging so could post and I'll split the cost 50/50 with you if that is the option required.

These were around £750 new iirc.  For sale at a bargain price of £400.

If you have any questions please just ask.  Plenty of pics below but if you would like additional detail please just ask.

    Thanks for looking.

The Legend Classic also features a 3-piece maple neck, a 24 fret pau ferro fingerboard, and professional quality die-cast hardware. The Legend 4 Classic offers the looks, tone, and feel of basses twice its price."

  4. Hi folks

I have a recollection of seeing a G&L bass that I think was a semi hollow, but definitely not an ASAT, in the Bass Gallery maybe a couple of years ago.  Fairly sure it was black but I can find no record of it despite spending the best part of an hour on google using as many imaginative search terms as I could think of.

Am I just a confused old person or did such a bass exist?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Now sold, thanks for the interest.

Here is a set of mostly unused strings (see below) that I bought this week, but that don't quite work with my short scale bass due to the bridge arrangement.  I put the E string on and trimmed it with around 4" past the tuning peg and then realised that the silk continued just over the nut so no use to me.  I should have read the details with more care before buying them I guess.

My bass is an Ibanez Artcore AGB200.

So please check your bass before buying:  These strings measure 32.25" / 81cm from the ball end to the start of the silk winding.

£40 posted UK mainland.  These are £65 new so grab a bargain.
