  1. Cannot tell the difference against a 500. The sound now, is as it initially left the factory.
  2. Ashdown 400w head. Professional sound. Nice condition. You’ll put your class d in the bin when you hear it. I’ve just had a full check over/serviced by Ashdown to ensure a first class amp for sale. Variable 12AX7 valve drive pre amp. etc etc Made in England in the early days. Welcome to test here in Coseley, West Midlands. Geoff 01902833173
  3. Below is a response from Musicman in Obispo USA. I cannot copy and paste the email because of sole use of the intended recipient Geoff Thanks for the interest in Music Man! We have done some small runs for distributors including Strings & Things UK. On Mon, May 21, 2018 at 5:25 AM, Webmaster <[email protected]> wrote:
  4. I understand what you mean now. Being a Precision player I’m not too much up on Stingrays, thought I’d give one a go before packing it in. I advertised this for what I paid for it. There’s no modifications to woodwork etc, it’s perfect. It must be a Stingray 4 or whatever you call it. Sorry if I mislead with ignorance, there was/is no pulling the wool over eyes on this site!, Im not like that anyway. I’ll knock £100 off now to £1225 Geoff
  5. My last fling. Absolutely excellent and beautiful condition, balanced warm tone. Weight 4.3kg. I’ve left the mirror scratchplate on, simple to put the original back. Link to full info, so no bull. https://www.andertons.co.uk/music-man-stingray-4-classic-vintage-sunburst-maple-neck-black-pickguard-120713001?LGWCODE=120713001;56375;6335&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwIGWyMD62gIVRbDtCh3wdQGQEAQYBSABEgIoKvD_BwE My feedback: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/73703-feedback-for-geoff90guitar/ Cheers, Geoff
  6. Well, all change again. The Bergs did need a lot of power and after going through the class d heads and losing money with the so called power above 500W needed, I concluded this crap is not for me. Having tried many neo speakers and been disappointed with them, I thought I’d buy a Barefaced compact cab after reading the great reviews and plenty of push from the designer (why not?). It’s true, the drummer will tell you to turn down because he can hear you BUT I found the sound , loud clear, and irritating with no balls. Hence back full circle after 3 years of trials, a Trace Elliot style set up, 1x15 cab and 2x10 cab. A stage further, recently I bought Ashdown compacts since the handles are in the horizontal plain and easier to slide onto the back seat as opposed to the Trace handles. I can put up with the Blues but may change for Celestions when they come up.

  8. I read when you played through one of these, the drummer would ask the bass player to turn down, well it’s correct! Great condition and working order with cover. Welcome to test/trial here in Coseley, West Mids, you won’t be disappointed.
  9. Yes, but don't plug anything else in the other 8ohm socket because the socket is wired in parallel with the other one and you will reduce the ohms which the amp won't like.
  10. Reduced to £215 and that includes delivery. I’m retiring on NYE and will be dropping it to the lads about mid November but will dep after NYE until they are fixed up. Sad really, only missed two NYEs in more than 50 years playing. I don’t want to pack it in but I don’t want to lose time with my grandkids like I did my kids - and my wife of course.
  11. Nice comment Ian. I think you’ May find yourself trying all the class D stuff but not feeling completely satisfied.
  12. Amp is in excellent condition and first class working and is very loud. Very well cared for. IMO there’s always been a tossup between the AH250 MKV and the SMX250/300. This model wins as it has the valve blend and is lighter. Head Specs: 280w RMS/580w peak fan cooled head (the fan is not silent but cannot be heard above anything else - I must state this because there are some funny bugxxxx about - to me it’s fine) Has active passive input selector, tube/solid state blending, pre-shape and 2 shaping options, 12 band graphic EQ with controlable level, independent Low and high compressesors, Effects level and send level with full range and high pass options, DI out built in, can power two 8 ohm cabs. Made in England around 1998 - the Trace golden era. Welcome to trial/test here in Coseley West Mids - you won’t be disappointed.
