I used this for a few months when my DB750 was out of the shockmounted flightcase and helped make my rig look less overbearing, bringing an old-school look to the amp. Condition overall is very good, but there are a couple of scuffs at the rear. £85 including UK delivery. Solid construction with recessed rack rails. Durable tolex finish. Heavy duty carrying strap. Protective metal corners. Large rubber feet. Product Details. Will hold most amp heads but check dimentions just to be sure. I will include a black 1U rack spacer for anyone intending to use this with a 2U amp. Product Dimensions: 16 x 20.5 x 7.5 inches ; 19 pounds I'm located in Fife, Scotland so will knock a bit off the price if collected.

I've had this around a year, bought from an owner who bought it new and although I've never had it rackmounted, I have carried it in a dedicated Aguilar amp bag which I'll be including in the sale. Scratches are minimal and are mainly on the top panel. Front panel is like new. Overall condition very good. The amp is incredibly efficient, full of character and very clean without sounding transparent. For a lot of gigs where I'm DI'd into the PA, I can use the head with a single GS112 depending on the band set up, but even with the two 1x12 cabs it's a nice transportable rig that'll fit into the rear boot of most cars. Here's what the Aguilar website says....(essential reading).... The AG 500SC is a high-powered, lightweight head that combines an easy to use yet versatile EQ with 500 watts of power to create the perfect amp for the gigging bassist. Four bands of active EQ with bright and deep switches provide every tone from funk to rock to jazz. A flexible FX Loop and pure sounding D.I. are easily accessible on the front of this amp. Great features, tons of power and an affordable price make this amp a classic. Specs Power output: 500 watts @ 4 ohms, 250 watts @ 8 ohms Inputs: One ¼" Input jack with Active/Passive switch Tone controls: Bright: +5dB >4kHz shelving Treble: +/- 13dB @ 4kHz shelving High Mid: +/- 14dB @ 800Hz peaking Low Mid: +/- 14dB @ 400Hz peaking Bass: +/- 18dB @ 40Hz shelving Deep: +6dB <100Hz shelving FX Loop: Series/Parallel; Send pot is Push/Pull for Line or Instrument level; Return pot is Push/Pull for Parallel or Series operation. Outputs: Two Neutrik Speakon and two ¼" speaker outputs, XLR balanced D.I. out with Pre and Post EQ switch, Tuner output. Mute: Push button with LED (footswitch optional) Size: 2 rack spaces, 17" W X 3.5" H X 10" D Weight: 18 lbs. I never had rackears for this but the very fine Aguilar amp bag is included in the sale. I'm looking for £580 (thanks, but no trades) I'm located in Fife, Scotland. Collection would be ideal but I'll post the amp in the UK if required. Please message me with your location if interested.
There's this pic with three different Sadowsky 5 strings that seems to be something to do with gilbass as well? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=37636
Have a bump on me Gil. I know you're never online! Gil is a mate of mine too and I can wholeheartedly vouch for his knowledge, sincerity and humour! He's been kind enough to allow me the use of his basses when mine haven't been to hand. I have performed and recorded with every Sadowsky bass he's owned. Out of the three basses, the blue quilt is no longer available. All basses are NYC, not Metro. The blue with matching headstock has a unique tone, which I think owes a lot to the ebony fingerboard. There's plenty of clarity and high end snap like a maple board, but the bass has more natural mids than the classic scooped-mid character often heard with Ash/Maple J-basses. An effective bridge between the tones of Sadowsky's 60s & 70s-inspired combinations of wood. This bass features the Vintage Tone Control. My first impression of the 24 fretter is how light it is. Anyone who has owned a Sadowsky NYC 5 strings will know how light they can be, especially compared to a Fender, but the lack of weight really is exceptional. Tonally, I think everyone would have their own comparisons away from the common Jazz Bass sound. It's not unlike Sadowsky's take on a Jazz bass sound, but leans toward a more 'high-end' bass sound with it's rich low mids. The fingerboard is very pretty too
I have to say, this rig DB750/751 plus 2 BD112's would be my desired main rig with maybe a DB212/DB115 and DB210 for larger gigs that I would have help with
Here here The GS412 is incredible with the DB750, but ideally for outdoor gigs where you can push the volume a bit. The DB212/DB115 combination is by far the best rig I've owned and experienced. I used to use Eden 10s with the amp but never quite got that valvey sound until the DBs came along...which is exactly what I want. The GSs seem to bring out more HiFi qualities in the DB750. Hope this helps anyone! My band members would've shut off by now

My favourite amp in the world. A bitch to lift (especially in a shockmount flightcase) but once you've been spoiled by all that tone and endless headroom, everything else pales in comparison!
that's me out too, didn't know what a Kinsman Case was but guessing it's not a hardcase
Me too! I have one of these in a natural finish and have been looking out for a spare since the day I knocked a hole in the back (since repaired). Great price for a great bass. As Nick said the B string is incredibly tight - did you mention it's a 35" scale? I guess that's where the name originates... -

Condition as bought from new, with box and instruction guide. Velcro stuck on the base of pedal, as seen in the photo. If removed, the rubber pad will still be intact if there's a need to grip a floor. In the front facing photo, there are red reflections of a room heater in all four knobs! I bought this a couple of months ago and put it straight onto my pedalboard, then realised a compressor isn't what I needed for live playing. It has been kept safely in its box ever since. As far as I'm aware, these are rare in the UK. Stunning purple colour too, which looks great on a pedalboard! Ben Kenney from Incubus swore by this pedal, which should appeal to pick players out there looking to smooth out their tone. Here's the website link full of relevant info.... *CLICK HERE* Payment by Paypal prefered, but please get in touch if you're interested.
Hmm, in my (limited) experience, the DBs seem to have more of a mid-hump than the GSs... How strange! Love my GS410 though- brilliant piece of kit although I'm adding a 1x15 to get a bit more arse end out of it
That could be true to my ears too Josh, but I've never played through the DB 1x12s -
Aguilar cabs........an opinion please.
lawriemacmillan replied to Nickytwister's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Hi Nick You'll get this a lot but I can't not mention you sent a LOT of nice gear up my way in Scotland when I were a lad, including a fretless Steamer 5 with a unique knot in the neck :-) I have two amazing Aggie rigs - a compact one in the UK and a bigger set up over in Europe, and they're VERY different. AG500 with two GS112s (one with a tweeter). DB750 with a DB212 & a DB115. I now really just use the smaller rig for functions and club gigs. When I used it on bigger stages, the 112s sound amazing if you're within reach, but just didn't have the throw or spread even coupled with the DB750. The GS cabs are slightly more midrange and 'clean' to my ears. The DB cabs look and sound a bit more vintage, to my ears! However, I'm using them with a valvey head so that'll add to it. On some smaller stages I've used the 750 with the 2x12 alone and it performed like a deeply voiced 4x10. The DB115 is the first 1x15 cab I've used in 15 years. It's a great sub. Tight too, nice low mids so great for mic'ing up. I must admit, I'm not a fan of using the AG500 at high volumes. It just cannot compete with the DB750 and my opinions of these cabs are influenced by the power and voicing of these amps. Lawrie -
Are you willing to sell the cab(s) seperate?
Yes I would be willing to sell the cabs without the head if the offer was right. Please bear in mind that the cabs (and head) are in storage in Germany (and most of the time I'm in Scotland) so pickup is prefered over shipment, although I realise that wasn't your question! I will be using them this weekend - Saturday 6th in Jena, Sunday 7th in Reichenbach, followed by Hannover on March 19th.
