  1. I probably will once I get comfy with it. I've only used midi with it as part of my switcher so need to relearn the pedal as a standalone unit now.
  2. New mini board created! Need to reprogramme the h9 and work out of the tuner will be ok for me as a standalone solution.....then I'll probably rotate drives for the next 3 years....as usual
  3. Just another small update after a couple more rehearsals. I like it a lot now. Not quite more than my matamp, but I have plenty of volume through my 410, it delivers pedals really well. I just need to dial out a little boominess in the preamp I think, but it feels very present and responsive. Final outstanding job is to try and find a suitable hard case with foam cut out to transport it in a slightly better road-ready manner. That's it, I'll probs drop a future update as and if I decide to gig it, and/or purchase a case. ✌️
  4. Ah dude, I just found what I think is the old eve website. You've nailed it - that was the builder!!!! Thank you!!! Pretty surprised based on such a spurious initial post. Gonna trawl through the rest of your list as well. Not actively in the market, but started to look again at a builder potentially. What a talent you are! ✌️🙏
  5. Hi all, just bumping this one as I've been racking my brain trying to remember a luthier I read about in bass guitar mag.....about 12-15 years or so ago.... I think. He had two or three standard models, one man band, the basses we're all naturally finished, but had some really exceptional carving/ body shaping.... I seem to recall the upper horn on. Custom job was almost a spiral or something.... It was a 1 or 2 page focus on the builder if I recall and I think the models were titles with a letter and number.... I think.... Pretty much naff all to go on, but thought I'd see if anyone also remembered the edition I read... Google and Google images has proven futile
  6. What brands are these? Looks a sweet board
  7. Not ATM .... I want to find some time to dive deeper tbh, but just never create it. Have you tried the expression?
  8. Yet another 'tweak' to the board. Meris back on, h9 off, but plans to use the h9 on a second smaller board that I'm hoping to build over the next 4 weeks or so.... I love the Meris. It's beautiful.
  9. Oh sweet I'll have to check you guys out. Say hi to riff monkey in godless suns (from Andy in gévaudan)
  10. Only the second major outing tonight for rehearsal and I pushed the preamp a little harder, and the amp a little louder in the room. Tweaked the EQ a touch on the origin and had a really good jam with the band. The rig felt pretty responsive to touch and nuance, and the lows were nicely present filling the room. I'm really tempted to gig it in the near future but not sure I can bring myself not to take the matamp.... We'll see. Overall, continuing to be really happy with this purchase and performance ✌️
  11. Played a pretty wicked venue in Southampton yesterday - Papillon. All day doom festival Abyssal fest, hosting some awesome bands and a great vibe all day. Performance was really enjoyable and seemed to go down pretty well. 10/10 fun.
  12. No way dude! Wah on the left for a righty for the win 😎✌️
  13. Purchased a preamp from jonse. Top transaction, deal with absolute confidence. Thanks!! ✌️
  14. Purchased a preamp from Muppet. Awesome awesome transaction. Highly recommended. Thanks dude ✌️
  15. Yeah following this - well interested in your thoughts! ✌️
  16. Sick album dude!! Hope we manage to play together again at some point in the next year. Monster bass ✌️
  17. Open to trade considerations/ deals to stack together - really after a Meris Mercury 7 Otherwise, maybe a strymon el Cap V2, might consider a Volante....
  18. Took the new amp to rehearsal on Tuesday and gave it a spin. Immediate first impression is that it's solid with the origin effects super vintage through my BF 410. I play in a reasonably loud doom band, using a 5 string active bass. Having reflected on it, I'm not really sure how to describe my thoughts tbh.... Summary: Did it look cool? Yes Was it light weight? Yes Was it easy to set up? Yes Did it make my bass really loud? Yes How loud? Drowned the drums Anymore headroom? Yes How much? Volume at about 2 oclock The presence of my bass in the room was good, it felt like there was a fair amount of 'heft', and dynamics, and there was headroom to spare which is important I think to the whole responsiveness of the feel. Anyway, I have a bit more dialling in to do tbh with my band to get it a bit closer to my 'standard' matamp type tone and presence, and my gain staging was a little all over the place, but it was enjoyable and my favourite lightweight option to date. Gonna look for a foam case to transport it now. Will probably add a few more thoughts here next time I out it ✌️
  19. No afraid not. Cab Sims on the balanced DI, only the preamp and sgt circuit / compressor etc on the preamp out. ✌️
  20. Absolutely love all of these.....would love to try the heavy board. Epic dude 😎✌️
  21. So I've been weighing up a lightweight alternative/ back up/ and hoc rehearsal amp for probably the last year or so. I run a GT200 as my only amp presently. I've looked across a few options, such as Mesa, trace berg over the last year or so, but have ended up deciding to try this GSS Sumo Monster with a preamp set up. My main requirement was I wanted lots of power at 8 ohms to run my BF cab with, and expandability to run an 810 if required. So this arrived a couple of days ago. 1200w 4ohm, 800w at 8ohm and weighs c.3.2kg. It includes a power LED mod and variable psu, dual voltage auto detect. It's lightweight, looks sleek and very simple. I've rearranged my board with the origin and that'll be the pre. Had two mins so far with it and it seems pretty cool. Rehearsing on Tuesday so I'll see how it goes and drop some thoughts back. ✌️ pan widget
  22. My next one with Gévaudan is in Southampton at Abyssal Fest in a few weeks - a heavy and doom-filled line up and Elephant Tree headlining, one of my favourite bands ✌️

  24. Completely changed my drive set up and unfortunately letting this one go as a consequence. Owned from new, been on my board for about 6 months, light use and in excellent condition. Velcro on the base comes with original box and gubbins. Price includes postage, tracked. Take a fiver off for collection/ meet. I rehearse in Stevenage, live near Wellingborough, work Bedford areas. Any questions let me know, bit of blurb below from Origin. ✌️ ------------------------------------------ the UA 610 preamp, which was the inspiration for the DCX Bass. This retro console preamp is famous for adding vintage, analogue colour to a signal, as well as precise control of level and EQ. Push the level harder and you get rich, harmonic saturation of the kind that makes analogue hardware a must-have in any present-day studio. The DCX Bass reimagines this classic preamp as a tone-shaper and drive pedal for bass guitar, with a wide range of clean and overdrive tones, EQ frequencies optimised for the instrument, and our Adaptive Circuitry providing a treble response that reacts to playing dynamics. It’s a signal-boosting, tone-enhancing pedal straight from the studio!
  25. I love this board. I'm scared of the stomp though, but well interested in a capo....albeit it looks pretty pricey! Think Ian Allison uses a similar set up?
