  1. Now pulling out my Ashdown amps for sale, some , bit out of the ordinary ! Ashdown DP200, 15", drop head combo. Probably weren't many of these built. I bought it new, to play at a reunion of my old band when the singer was visiting from America, many moons ago. Probably only taken it out once or twice, since. Love it's retro styling, and it's far more pokey than my B15, but there's a weight penalty. Four KT88's and the necessary transformers means you won't run for a bus carrying it ! However, to my eyes, it's a thing of beauty, and sounds fantastic. Check the pics, a mere £1200. Next, Red Mark King Ashdown head, the one with the Trace-like 12 way graphic, vgc, £300 ( now gone ) Couple of very early Ashdown Klystron Magnifier heads, late 90's, (pre ABM'S, but same preamp ), one 200w, £150, one 400w £200. Another 500w amp head, has same twin valve preamp as the drophead combo (no graphic), Spyder 550, . Again ,great sounding amp £250. 6x10 bass cab, this is a professionally cut down King Combo, with the 10" celestions Ashdown used before they went over to the blue cone ones. £199 BTW the first King combo had no grill ,so nor has this one . more pics, when I can. Collection, and viewing near Worthing, west Sussex. or I'll be at the October and November Bass Bash's.
  2. Ah... Shouldn't make statements when I'm knackered ! It was the two very similar fonts, used on the logo's, that I have written down, somewhere. If you google Montana gold ( acrylic ) or Montana black( ?), Colour baby blue code 5020, They are the spray cans of paint I use on my Acoustic bits. Need to experiment with undercoat, white undercoat makes the blue a bit too bright. Best Wishes, Mike.
  3. Hi JPJ, The colour of the Formica that was used on the fronts of the early 360/361 units was called "Baby Blue ", if that's any help. Two, very similar, shades of paint were used on the blue logo stripes, I do have the paint names written down somewhere, I'll see if I can find them. Mike.
  4. Mk5's, Mk6's and a 2 x 10 combo that looks like it might be an SMX 12 band eq. with dual compressor . I'll check. Also have second hand spares for the earlier Trace amps, power modules,( inc bipolar bear), Transformers, preamps, speakers( inc some of the very heavy duty cast 15" speakers used in their premium cabs ) etc
  5. I ran one of these as my main cab, for couple of years, not that long ago. I loaded it with neo's, and it was a dream to move around, and sounded great. They are bit smaller, certainly less deep, and lighter than a lot of the 2 x 15's around at the time. Still have mine , and won't be parting with it . Great Name on the front , what's not to like !
  6. Hmmm, If only it was Candy Apple Red ! Just Kidding 😉 PM on way
  7. Aria SB900 Now Gone, only the '79 ibby Musician left for me to play, now.
  8. AND, I've left off my Mk 1 Trace V4 with matching cab, all Flightcased, and haven't even mentioned the Trace Elliot V8 yet !
  9. So, My Race for Space continues ! Ampeg PF350 digital bass amp, clean condition, odd scratch. Headphone jack not working, and no handles, Replaced with a PF500, so £99 (GONE ) Ampeg SVT 810 E, covering stripped, no grill only 4 10" speakers, so operating at 8 ohms £99( needed space , now broken up, speaker chassis available ) 80's HELBOURG Rotosound Bass amp, built for bi-amping, 1 x 250 w bass output ( requires cab) PLUS 2 x 50w stereo mid/top outputs into built in 12" speakers. Odd one, this. Only other one I've ever seen was the one Paul at WAL uses to test his basses. Superb build , Stupid expensive in it's day. £99 Trace Elliot powered cab ,prob 90's. Amp built into bottom of cab, space at top for preamp. May have been built to use with the MP11 preamp, but that's long gone. Pic of similar cab in John Entwistles bass book. £99 Dynacord Reference 3002 bass amp head, another Superbly built amp, in repurposed head sleeve. Built in compressor, great for fretless. May need some slider knobs, if I can't find them, plus one send return jack might need looking at. £99 (on Hold ) Acoustic Control 70's 404 1 x 15 cab, with good original speaker, clean presentable condition £99 Might be able to find an Acoustic Control 104 100w amp to power it, again £99 Another Acoustic control 15" bass cab, late 70's maybe early 80's model BB2 Porting looks more sophisticated in this one £99. Hotone Legacy Thunder Bass amp. Replaced with a Gnome, ideal practice amp with headphones £50 Please request pics, if interested. Collection, and COD, Please, from Worthing, in West Sussex. or could bring to South East or South West Bass Chat meets.
  10. Also, check it's plugged in ! Easy to forget, if the rear screen had been removed for servicing.

  12. Certainly a "h'air " guitar, loved by the eighty's hair bands. Dropped my IPad, taking pics, Phone is out of the Ark, and my Nikon battery charger is at work, so no pic's 'till next week ! Apologies .
  13. I may change my mind, keep this, and sell my SB1000 instead, but I'm having to replace the tone module on my SB1000, as I'm not quite sure it's ever worked ! Hence I've always preferred the SB900, cracking bass, superb build, and very versatile. Check out the bass player on " Marvin Gaye at Montreau ", looks cool , too. Mine has one replacement Armstrong pickup, as one died, and the tuners , while great, may not be original. Condition is clean , few small chips consistent with age. Aria build quality on these was world class, and it plays like butter. Collection only from Worthing or Chichester, and no trades please, I'm chasing my dream bass.
  14. Hi Chris, There will be some Mesa Boogie amps, but it's surprising how much time this all takes, I still work, do a few open mikes a week, gig (I'm at the Isle of Wight festival, intoxicating tea rooms, this coming weekend ), and occasionally I'm expected to say hello to the wife, difficult to fit more in, at my age ! But I try ! Best Wishes.
  15. Yep, bought the RPM1 brand new , yonks ago, took me ages to save up for it. Got the matching power amp for it, somewhere ! Have I mentioned that G.A.S is a bad thing , and there's no known cure, despite what they tell you !
  16. Up for sale my "rack of pre's ", including a compressor, parametric equalizer, and a choice of ancient, or modern preamps, depending on your gig. In all honesty, I've only ever taken this to Basschat gatherings, as it could be described as overkill ! Although, I have used them all, separately. Pic is self explanatory, easy to see what's on offer. ( Ashdown RPM1 gone ) Just found my Phil Jones Bass Buddy, so add that to list ! Collection only from West Sussex please, so that kit can be trialled, and please don't ask me questions about the compressor, I never did figure it out 😉 Will see if I have room to put in car and bring to Bass Bash on 12th Nov
