  1. Not really qualified to answer that, haven't used a 4 x 10 for Donkeys years. My guess is, would largely depend on the quality of the drivers fitted to the cabs . Best drum sound we got playing outdoors was when we used a pair of Acoustic 301 replica's ( think Jaco ) to boost the PA sound. Those Cerwin Vega 18" speakers are just something else !
  2. Would you have room for a KK Baby Bass, traditional model , I have a stand. plus bunch of 4 string and 5 string necks, Schaller bridges, coupla bodies, other odd bits, and my optimistically bought, but mainly unread, Tutorial books ! Most with their CD's intact. My Wife will be grateful !
  3. Ha, Well spotted ! Proper Vox stand under my bass cab, couple of spacers, as the cab is a smidge wider. The stands under the ac30/15's are repurposed old school desks, tops removed, and turned around. Stack easy in the car, too !
  4. Last Nights Rock 'n Roll gig setup. Only a 1 x 12 in that old Vox Cab ! Worked a treat, Great Fun.
  5. South Coast, West Sussex, Apologies, that info seems to have got lost when I posted the pics !
  6. I did read somewhere that Jaco used one of these, later in his career ( or did I dream that, I do have vivid dreams when it's hot !) Maybe someone could confirm .
  7. Collection possible from either of the upcoming Basschat events in Taunton or South London
  8. Best Way I could describe it, on the last outdoor gig I did with it is "Good, full, old school sound, with extra zing ", I was using it with my Aguilar DB750, no shirker in it's own right, you understand.
  9. anyone know why my pic isn't shown on the title listing ?
  10. Thought I'd bring out the "Bling " rig for an engagement party gig ! Sounded Great !
  11. What can I say, that hasn't already been said. Top bloke is Roonjuice. Arranged to collect two very heavy amps at one if his gigs, despite travelling by train to meet up, 4 hours and no seats ! Met up in Winchester Holiday inn (this guy's got style ), and could have chatted for hours, but he was there to work. At all times he kept good communications, did all the heavy lifting, and was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Roon.

  13. My very nice, well kept, , red , Phil Jones briefcase now for sale . Has a recently fitted internal battery, charging lead, mains lead and manual. all housed in the Special Wheeled, trolley type case the Phil Jones supplied for these amps. Can also be run from a car battery, although I've never needed to do that. At practice volumes, with acoustic guitarists, it's lasted me all evening, but not if you push the volume ( these weren't intended for loud rock bands ). I did take pics, and when I can find them, I'll add to the listing. £360, collected from West Sussex.
  14. Just thought I ask out there if there's anybody in the Basschat fraternity who's still into Analogue recording using the mid 80's Tandberg recording gear. Never know, unless you ask !
  15. Don't know where those FBT pics came from, now't to do with me !
  16. So now, Some late 60's, early 70's Ampeg 2 x 15 cabs. First is my V6 cab. Ampeg built these cabs to go with their new, at the time , V6 transistor amp. Fortunately, they'd learnt from their mistake with the previous V4 bass cab ( it was a monster ) and they seemed to have looked at the Sunn 2 x 15, better designed cab for inspiration. However, despite building a lighter, neater bass cab, they then went and covered it in RAT FUR ! Needless to say, was not pretty after all this time, so I removed it, and had the cab sprayed with black 2 pack truck liner. Looks really smart now, and the cats leave it alone. I gigged it with 2 baselites , but I'll put the two cast H&H speakers back in it that I bought it with, still not too heavy. 8 ohm. Not best used in pub gigs, but if you ever have outdoor gigs, this is the (inexpensive ) way to go. £199 ( now has a new owner ) Next, I have my two 2 x 15, B25 cabs , built to match the B15's bigger brother, the B25. These are quite wide, but shallow, cabs, as was the fashion then, prob late 60's. I think both still have the original CTS speakers, but I'll need to check. OK, first one I checked has a pair of the HH cast speakers, same as the V6 cab above, but 16 ohm. Other cab has original speakers, is 8 ohm. both are black, still original, tolex, in fair condition for their age. One has speakers fitted from front, other one requires removal of rear panel. Original grills are quite presentable. Gonna try them with my B15 , see how they sound. Will get pics tomoz, took me all day to dig them out ! Asking £199 each for a piece of Ampeg History. V6 cab pics.
  17. Nice, unrestored, original Framus Star bass, twin pickup model. Has had neck reset by Luthier, so good to go. Overall condition is very nice, especially considering its age. Pickups, electrics fine. Will get it out tonight, post some pics. £450 located in west sussex. Not willing to post, but the Basschat interdelivery system may be able to help, depending on where you are . Found pic !
  18. Something else I've had for donkeys years, an Amplified Musical Products BH 420, designed and built by the ex designers of the Acoustic Control Corp. This same design was later to morph into the Thunderfunk amps, when Dave Funk bought the stock when A.M.P. folded. I bought this one from the original owner, but just after he bought it ( Acoustic dealer in Fleet ) and having had a case made for it, he became ill, and this was put in the loft, never used. I've kept it in that case, ever since. Did play it for a year, in a blues band, together with an Acoustic Control 2 x 15. Did me proud. So, early 80's amp, clean as a whistle inside, only slight signs of use on the case, very comprehensive Eq, even for today, let alone then. Been using this again recently, such a joy to use, mainly I use flat eq, just tweek the tone balance a touch, to taste. Be aware, they do run hot, (on 4 ohms, not so on 8 ) Dave Funk added a fan, however, a laptop cooler would be an easy way to keep things cool. Didn't have those in the 80's ! , Just noticed, Pics show 120v input, but this was bought in the UK, and is UK voltage £350 Can be seen, trialled etc in Worthing.
  19. Another of my ,somewhat quirky, musical items I've decided to part with. A fully working, all original, 60's Tuck n Roll PA amp and speakers . Not too many left over here, in this condition. I mainly used them for backdrop, and display, but they do sound good, and still have the original, silver domed, Alnico speakers. Amp is 120v, so I used a Maplin type transformer, but if you're a keen Creedance Clearwater Revival fan, and wish to convert the amp to 230v, it's very easy . That's been done to my similar Kustom bass amp of the same vintage. £1500 Also have other Kustom Tuck n Roll amps and combo's, just need to dig them out
  20. This was the amp I was going to keep forever, but...... The forerunner of the Trace Elliot V-type valve range, the head and cab have always been dry stored in purpose built flight cases, so they are in great condition . The green pimple vinyl covering used by Trace in those days stiil looks fine, despite being 25 odd years old. 4 x KT88's driven by the infamous V-type preamp into a purpose designed, sealed 4 x 12, celestion loaded cab. Sonic heaven . £950 Flight cases included. Can be trialled in Worthing , West Sussex or, Might be able to bring to the Bass Bashes in October and November 2023.
