The damage is now fully repaired on the body, but looking for your opinions I have asked for a partial refund to cover the additional materials, this would be say £20 for glue, brush and a new clamp Given that the bass was sold as damaged, but all descriptions and photos focussed around the headstock - do I have a leg to stand on here? Genuinely curious! Fwiw I have been selling on eBay for over 20 years and have always tried to be protective of my feedback rating even if that means the occasional golden handshake

If you have some accurate measurements of the neck pocket you may find a suitable "paddle" neck you could reshape or alternatively scour eBay, there's a few stores that part out vintage instruments. Depending on the condition it might be worth repairing?

Fallen at the first hurdle. The bass arrived today and the bottom quarter of the body where the control cavity is has a severe fracture. I've gone back to the seller as this was not mentioned. It was also very well packaged so I think this was not done in transit.

I will take a punt on the Amazon one and feedback The guitar version I had years ago was surprisingly well made on a headless from "shengze guitars" which was a bit of an impulse buy and also because I kept knocking drinks over on my studio desk I had at the time, solved the problem!

It's actually surprisingly easy! The pain is removing the old covering and leftover adhesive gunk! Cheap heat gun and a scraper and you're in business.
