1. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be trying the rubber mat to seperate my Markbass combo from the stage and I'll keep in mind that such interference/resonance can be eliminated using tone/bass controls. ;-) Phil.
 2. The last 2 gigs we've played I've had to reduce the volume so much I could hardly hear myself play. The bass-drum microphone has an issue with my amp. The amp is used as a monitor for onstage sound so it's not too loud, the majority of volume comes from the PA. We were getting lots of distortion/feedback with the soundcheck, reducing my amp volume was the cure. Both gigs were played on a hollow stage. Has anyone any ideas? Not hearing yourself on stage is depressing. PLEASE HELP :-( Phil.
 3.
yes mate, they do fit the same socket, so no worries there. the unit is also very small and light and will not take much space on your board. best wishes & happy new year ! from me & my dog, dekker, named after my favourite dutch cyclist, erik! edit - if you don't use all 6 plugs, tape up the extra one's to avoid any short-circuit ! if i get around to it, i'll post a picture of the set-up tomorrow !
Oh yeah Eric Dekker, heard of him but i'm not quite sure, was he the last Dutchy to win Le Tour (or a stage of it). If you do get the time it'd be great to see your set-up. In Dutch they say 'Beste Wensen' (best wishes) instead of happy new year. Beste Wensen Philistein and Dekker.
 4.
hi, i was a bit tentative at first, but believe me , it works ! no problem.. i have a few pedals that don't follow the standard 9vdc set-up, so i was also wary. i use the mb comp first in the chain, followed by a few 9v dc pedals and even a 9vac (boss syb-5), and they all work fine. read up on diago's f.a.q. section. they say that combinations of 9 & 12 v are o.k. but an extra adaptor is required for 18v. (costs £5.99) the only pedal i won't risk is my 24v ehx q-tron. like i say i haven't had a problem with the compressore so far, but you can always e-mail them to check.. also the unit will cut off itself if it feels that anything in the chain is 'wrong', which is why i decided to pay the extra..
Thanks for the assurance Philistein, I can't find them in the European cybershops so it looks like I'll be paying the 60 quid + shipping. In the basic pakkage you get enough cable to daisy chain 6 effects (I only use 4 ), but do these original cables fit the M.B.Compressore. If so it looks like this is the solution. Phil.
 5.
hi, i just bought the diago powerstation for my pedals. it provides both ac and dc at 9 and/or 12v for up to 30 pedals (no switching required, it senses the pedal requirement). extra daisy-chains and adaptors are also available for pedals with different connector sizes/genders (even an 18v adaptor !). it's not the cheapest option, but very small and reliable. i'll be buying a case soon to house everything, but am still shopping around.. i got mine from strings direct, who were very reliable. and no, i don't work for them.. edit - i use the mb compressore too, it's the daddy !
Hey Philistein, Just been to Diago.co.uk and as far as I could see their overview of pedals that they can power doesn't include any 12v DC units. Are you sure they can poower the Markbass Compressore. Phil.
 6.
Well the guy has got back to me..... Claims he did post it last week... still nothing here yet He's offered a refund if it doesn't show.... I'll give it a bit longer what with xmas & all...
I got an email from 'The Bass Centre' on December 12 saying they had sent my Markbass Compressore, and then another on December 22 asking me what I thought of it. But I still haven't received it. Did it also get lost in the post or did the snow delay everything badly. I live in Holland and I'm an optimist. Hope your pedal turns up. Phil.
 7. Hello BCers, I've decided I need a pedalboard, but Ineed one with both 9 and12v supplies. 9v for Chorus,Overdrive and tuner and12v for the Markbass Compressore. I've previously only ever used my Digitech BP200, Jack of all trades, master of none! Time to venture out into the world of dedicated effects. And so to my question; Are there pedalboards with both 9 and12v supplies or will I have to build my own and use some kind of power brick/universal power supply? Your wisdom is much appreciated. Phil.
 8.
I have the Traveler 210 and 115. I find the 210 handles the Low B on my 6 string no problems at a low volume, but crank it in a band situation and I find it weedy at best - Let us know hoow you get on! ;-)
I tried my adjusted pup height through the Markbass 102 (without guitar and Hammond muddying up the airwaves ), It was nice to be in there on my own for a change. The pup has been moved closer to the Low B and it's made a remarkable difference. Absentmindeduk does have a point about losing umph when its cranked up. Maybe I'll add a 2X10 or 1X15 later on, but for now the pup height adjustment has worked wonders. CHEERS. I've always had a rather high action because I attack the strings rather aggressively. If it's not high enough the sound of the strings hitting the frets annoys the hell out of me. Setting the pup higher for the B string has worked. THank you all. Phil.
 9.
Looking on the Markbass website your cab should go down to 40HZ, which compares to other 2x10 cabs by people like Epifani. Do you use the EQ much ? I tend to keep everything pretty much flat. I've never played through a Markbass combo, but I did hear Michael Manring play through one recently, and he had a beautiful clear sound. He was playing his 4 string Hyperbass, and he does use some low tunings.
I've adjusted the pup height and it seems to have made a difference. I've only been able to test it on a little 20W Hartke. Going to the practice room tomorrow to try it with the Markbass. I usually keep the EQ fairly flat, so I don't think that's the problem. I've been a member for a month now and already the knowledge of the members is indispensible. A GENUINE THANK YOU. Phil.
 10. Thanks for the tips. I'm going to try the pup height adjustment. If the bigger cabs dont give better bottom what is their particular quality?
 11. I'm currently playing Yamaha 5 string (TRB1005) through a Markbass CMD102P. It sounds great until I play the low B and then it just falls away. The 10's can't handle the lowest notes. I was thinking about adding the Markbass Traveller 151P http://www.markbass.it/products.php?lingua...t=2&vedi=36 to beef up the sound. Will this be the answer to my low end woes? What do the rest of you play your low B's through? Happy New Year, Phil.
 12.
Howdy! I'm still in shock at the appalling demo that our band did a couple of months back. The story goes: Drummer and 1 of the guitarists not working. Rest of us are. Instead of goiing to friendly and familiar territory(Ian at Airplay ) the guitarist knows someone who knows someone (2 fly -by-night dj's) who'll record us at a cheaper price. Disaster! Anyway, rather than upset the rest of the band who are all nice guys. I was wondering if there is a device that's GOOD ,which will record us so that we could put that version onto our website and if people heard that ,they could see that we are much better than the demo cd on there at present. If there is something, and it worked, I would leave demo on webpage but put the newer recording on there as well so that thge rest of the band will see..... I know line6 do something, but if there is something fairly cheap, portable, easy to use and good , please let me know. Cheers
We usually just hook an old minidisc up to the mixer. Easy as 1,2,3. Always thought those things were useless, now it's got a use. Seasons greetings, Phil.
 13.
Do you have children with pencils?
No I don't have children. Our practice room - and the storage space where my amp is kept - is shared by 5 bands. There have never been any problems before, this may be a coincidence but 2 weeks ago a new band joined. Is the only way you can dent/dint a dust cover by physically touching it; i.e. with a pencil , finger etc. If so I'll be taking it home with me in the future. Christmas Greetings, Phil.
 14. Hello, I recently managed to suck a dent/dint/crease out of my Markbass CMD 102P. It was in the middle of the central dome-shaped thingy. I think it's called the Dust Cover. My Question is - Can this occur as a result of pushing the driver/speaker too hard? I can't see how it otherwise can occur. The protective grill has never been off and the combo sleeps in a thick leather case. Christmas greetings, Phil.
 15.
Just pray that statement never gets quoted out of context...
Hey guys thanks for the tips. I thought the tape idea was genius. so I tried it. NOT RECOMENDED!!!! The Markbass CMD 102P driver dust covers are made of a thick pitch-black paper. The tape didn't budge it a mm, it just took off the upper layer of paper leaving a very slightly lighter colour behind. OOPS! So I moved on to, what to me seemed a much riskier option, the vacuum cleaner. Would it swallow my speaker whole or just tear out its heart? Our vacuum cleaner has an adjustable power dial so I started off low. But it didn't do a thing, so I went to full power and HEY PRESTO, it sucked that baby right into shape... and then it flopped back in... so I sucked again and it flopped back in. After a tug-of-war it eventually stayed out. I'm left with some slight creases and a barely visible tape mark but it did the trick. Greetings , Phil.
 16. Please Help Meeeeeeee!!!!!!!! Whilst practicing thhis morning I noticed a dent in one of the speakers ( I think you guys call them DRIVERS/new to me) of my Markbass CMD 102P. It's in the central dome in the middle of the cone. Can this affect the performance and sound? Is it possible to remove it, I've had it open but there's no way of getting at it from behind, it's enclosed; but you already knew that, RIGHT! Are there any tricks of the trade for removing it, maybe it can be sucked out with a vacuum or something? Just guessing 'cause I'm desperate. How could something like this even happen? I'm really careful with my stuff and it's never been past two thirds. Christmas greetings, Phil.
 17. Hey no fair......... The green-eyed-monster, I want one right now! People are complaining about the Look and Size.......... Big is Beautiful. You lucky boy. Phil.
 18. Hey, low end lovers. I don't know about the SYNTH but I got mail on Friday and 'The Bass Centre' said I should get my COMPRESSORE on Monday or Tuesday...... Yeah. I'll let you know what I think. Greetings , Phil.
 19. Hallo Bass People, I'm thinking about importing a MIJ Jazz from 'Jo's Music Shop" in Japan. Has anybody had any experience with these guys? ebay.com/Jos-Music-Shop
