  1. I've just placed an order for one of these for my board. I am hoping to use it to replace my drive (Fulltone Bassdrive Mosfet) and fuzz (Wattson Super Fuzz) pedals. The heart of the board is a Boss ES-8 so I am hoping that I can save suitable presets so that I can dial-up the tones at a click of a switch. Has anyone here used one of these? I'd be grateful for opinions! - Nick.
  2. This was posted a while ago - but not marked sold. Is it still available? Thanks, - Nick.
  3. That's a great price! This is an awesome amp. Big enough for any venue.
  4. Very nice! Can I ask what attracted you to this bass in the first place?
  5. I think these are the ones fitted:- http://shop.ibanez.com/c/parts-accessories_bass-parts_knobs The last two: 4KB1JB15B (15mm) and 4KB1JB20B (20mm).
  6. The best option I've found so far are these:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Ibanez-4KB1C1K-Metal-Dome-Knob-in-Cosmo-Black-for-Electric-Guitar-Spare-Part/1673730740 https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Ibanez-Domed-Volume-tone-Knob-Cosmo-Black-4KB1C3K/2181521764?iid=401385962175 I think these are the ones fitted to the cheaper SR series basses. A bit (!) pricey though!
  7. Thanks all! I may actually go for black. The existing knobs are black and so are the two adjacent mini toggles. I just need to find a style that has two sizes and a supplier... I can't see a suitable style with two sizes here:- https://www.rapidonline.com/cliff-fc7225b-km20b-black-aluminium-clad-plastic-knob-marker-line-6mm-spine-32-1836 And although these look ok , they are very pricey! https://www.bestbassgear.com/black-aluminum.htm Any other suggestions?
  8. Yes - gold knurled knobs would probably look best. I guess I'd better first get the existing knobs off to determine what size shank they have before placing an order. Then I need to find a style with large and small versions.
  9. Hi all, Just got one of these:- http://www.ibanez.com/products/u_eb_detail17.php?data_id=64&color=CL02&year=2017&cat_id=2&series_id=51 It is indeed a thing of beauty and verry well made and finished. But why on earth they put these cheap plastic knobs I I cannot understand!!! Think I'll change them. Any ideas what to replace them with that'd do it justice? - Nick.
  10. ...and I work in Kings Langley! What are the odds? Will PM you.
  11. That said, I have decided to stick with my current solution (at least for now): a Line 6 AMPLIFi TT which is plugged directly into the stereo. I've discovered that, despite it having no dedicated bass amps, there's a large 15" speaker model, very extensive EQ and FX options and - with a little effort - I've been able to program some half decent bass tones.
  12. Indeed! It didn't really go that low (of course) - but it was more than adequate in all other departments. Very simple to use. Not many sounds - but fun. And - crucially - more than adequate with BOTH bass AND guitar. Thanks folks, for the suggestions. - Nick.
  13. Thanks folks. Excellent comments. I'll pop into GAK on Saturday and give the THR10 a try. I don't want a loud amp - I just want something that handles both guitar and bass and sounds nice for low-volume home practice. Whatever I choose, I will be playing it with a 5-string bass, as well as 8-string, regular guitar and 12-string guitar. Some of the extra features of the Yamaha may be useful too. I'll report back!
  14. I think I'll track one down and put it through its paces!
  15. Thanks folks. I've been googling and also came up with that THR10 (and variants): https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/guitars_basses/amps_accessories/thr/index.html Looks good (there are three that feature bass amp modelling: THR10, THR10C and THR10X). Has anyone tried any of these? Comments?
  16. Hi BCers, I need a small, not loud, but nice sounding practice amp. In an ideal world it'd have switched voicings to handle guitar and bass - but I don't think such a thing exists. Bass is the priority: it's go to have low-end! Any recommendations? Thanks, - Nick.
  17. Hi all, has anyone tried this pedal on a bass yet? http://chaseblissaudio.com/brothers/ Any comments? Thanks! - Nick.
  18. I just found these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M1KPJFS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=AR1SQQM8YTLFV&psc=1 Surely worth a punt for £14!
  19. I've got an Evidence Audio kit spare now. I've made up three cables - PM me if you're interested and I'l check the lengths.
  20. I use George Ls - but they've become very difficult to get hold of. I've also used these. They're not quite as straightforward - but they are very VERY good:- https://www.guitarexperience.co.uk/accessories/cables/evidence-audio-cables/evidence-audio-sis-screw-in-solderless-patch-cable-kit.html
  21. Bump! Surprised no-one's leapt on this. I guess it's more for guitarists than bassists?
