1. Ah, Jestermab, i bought your old VS-212 then
2. Yup, i know Oli well and done a few deals with him. Had a SC200 MkIII not long ago and loved it. Could never get on with the two 120's i had tho, lacked balls. Ideally im looking for something in the smaller side of things
3. Anyone looking to try some Fender flats? Got this set, cut for a P bass and had around 18mths use so nice and stable, beefy and thumpy. Silks havent frayed much at all sop looking good. Cut for a P Bass. **SOLD**

5. Got gas for one of these but really worry about gig volume juice. I love all-valve and dont mind a bit of breakup but dont want full on mushy distortion. It would be paired with an Ashdown VS-212 cab, played with a flats loaded P bass against 2 guitards with 80w hybrid marshalls and a fairly loud drummist. The option ive considered is renting one for a week to see how i get on before taking the plunge but none of the local rental places have them. Anyone on here either gig with one or prepared to lend me one for a week in return for my TC RH450 for a week? The other option is the Little Bastard 550 but these are hard to come by and are only pre-amp valved
6. During my quest ive just stumbled across a very nice looking small amp - Fender Rumble 500 V3. Anyone tried this? Looks very nice but doesnt appear to be too many stockists round my way
7. The other amp ive considered slightly is the Ashdown Little Barsteward 30. Id love to get one for a week to really put it through its paces with my VS-212 as im not convinced it would give me a giggable tone at 30w. I worry it would just end up a distorted mush but the thought of a smaller real valve amp does grab my interest
8.
I think the RH450 is what you need TBH. If you forget all the multiple settings, all you have is gain, 4 tone knobs, tube gain and volume. That's just two more knobs than you need... Frankly almost anything else you have mentioned so far is inferior to the RH450 IMO.
Its the Shift options im having issues with. If i set all the Shifts flat and just use the normal EQ as standard it seems to be lacking any ball of heft. I think i need to learn the shift options properly. My normal EQ is somewhere like Bass at noon, treble at 10'oclock and Mids at 1'oclock with the gain driving it. This setting on the RH450 just sounds a bit weedy. How are people setting their 'shift' settings?
9. Looking for a new micro style amp for rehearsals when the SVT isn’t feasible. I play mainly a P bass loaded with old school thumpy flats and we play a mix of indie and classic style rock. The cab ill be using the head with is an Ashdown VS-212. Tone wise ive always chased the tone the guy gets in Temple Trap and their song Sweet Disposition (sounds like an SVT or other large valve amp to me). Im tempted by the PF500 but heard many horror stories of poor QC and wondering how much warm tube like grind I can get from the gain The Orange TB500 has always intrigued me but when ive heard them they always sound a little buzzy and like they are trying to hard to sound like a valve amp The Ashdown LB550 would be ideal – alas prices and availability mean this one might be out of reach Budget wise – Well hoping I get around £350 for my TC RH450 so this plus maybe a £100 top up. Reason im selling the RH450 is to many options and bells & whistles – I like a vintage tone with minimal options (basic gain, bass, middle, treble and volume) and ability to get a bit of valve type grit.

11. Resurecting an old thread after my second MBL purchase. Went down on saturday morning to have a look at the Ashdown VS212 cab Drew had on his website. As usual there was a stunning variety of basses hanging from the walls (a lot more amps/cabs/combos this time too). I mentioned by interest in the '74 P bass id seen on their site also and was immediately hooked up with the P bass thru the Ashdown cab. Had a good noodle and a good chat about all things bass over the MBL's usual great coffee. Left with the Ashdown cab and now serious GAS for that there P bass! After my second visit it just reaffirms what i already knew - anyone in the area should book into this magical place!

14. If someone can collect this week ill take £150 collected
15. Sorry, in view of no hardcase id be a bit wary sending overseas
16. I have the cast metal Ampeg badge as featured in the top left of their SVT cabs. THis one is for the 410 HLF but pretty sure they'll all be standard size. Bought from USA on fliptops but sold the cab before i got it. Doesnt come with screws Can be collected from Bolton or i can post for a couple of quid
