1. MEGABUMP!!!! Squire - £215 MIJ Jazz - £475 MIA Deluxe 5er - £850
2. BUMP. Squire is still here, created a lot of interest but nobody's pulled the trigger! Same with the MIJ. Strange nobody wants the 5 string Deluxe, it's one of the most versatile basses I've owned.....give me offers folks!
3.
Went and got the corvette from Nick yesterday..great bass and well looked after and his dad looks like Bill Bailey...but with more hair so what more could you want. I had a look at the other basses he has for sale and they are all in top condition! I just don't have the cash the natural Jazz is absolutely gorgeous!! the Maple fret board really sets it off! Also the five string is a piece of art! Thanks again Nick, bass sounded awsome through the peavey when we got home! The lad is well chuffed!
Haha, he does indeed look like Bill Bailey! Glad the bass sounds good!
4. CORVETTE SOLD Any takes for the 32 inch scale japanese squire precision (£225), MIJ Jazz (£500), or MIA Deluxe 5 string Jazz (£900)?
5. Computer's fixed. Any takers for the MIJ and MIA Jazzes? Make me offers guys!
6. Bumpelebump. Squire's still here folks, had a lot of PMs about it, but no takers. come on!
7. nice bass. it strikes me Ibanez really were trying to build a Spector here? Why did Doug ever bother, why didn't he just endorse Spector?
8.
As someone who lives in Blackpool and knows a few people who worked for TVR (before it was taken over and they sacked everyone) i'd say keep the basses. They'll last a hell of a lot longer than the car!
Simply not true. My dad's got one, my mates got two, and other people I know own them. The Rover V8 cars are unbreakable, only the chassis's can be a little rusty, but a powder paint and bake sorts that out. AJP8 engined cars, ie cerberas, are reliable too, as long as you feed them the correct ,oil, 98octane petrol, service them religiously etc etc. Get it wrong just once and they can go pop. As for the AJP6 engined cars, like the Tuscan, Sagaris, T350 and Tamora, they are unreliable, no doubt about it. The AJP6 is a racing engine, with lightweight finger followers.......the oil needs to warm up (people go revving the wabs of them from cold normally....tsssk!), otherwise these will start catching on each other and break, and eventually your engine is jiggered and you have a 7K rebuild on your hands. Anyway, back to the basses......Squire is still here, I'm holding out for £225, as they go for far more than this on Ebay, so grab yourselves a bargain! (btw, this is a 32inch scale bass, so for younger beginners it's very well suited too).
9. Bump. Need to get rid of these now, I've got a TVR on hold for me. If I can get rid of the 4 basses, it's mine!
10. Warwick is withdrawn Can't bear to part with the old beast. For all those asking, I'm based in York.
11.
Is this the warick corvette active or passive please? If it's active I'm deffinately interested!
It's active. MEC Gold Electronics.
12. OK, in the region of £500 for the MIJ, as it is in fantastic condition! As for the Warwick, £1K for that, it is a rare rare bass indeed (one of only 12 in the UK I believe).
13. One other thing guys, I will be attending Tayste's bass gathering in Stockport on Sunday 21st, so if anyone wants a bass and wants to save on delivery, or even just try it out, let me know and I'll bring it with me!
14. Warwick Thumb LTD Corvette Rockbass There you go. I hope the pics are ok, my camera is old and I'm not a photographer! The Squire has some buckle rash, which I've photoed, and a few scratches on the front. The 75RI has a tiny ding in the headstock, apart from that it's mint. The Jazz Deluxe has a ding on the body, I've put my finger next to it in the photo (I purchased it this way). The Warwick has a couple of tiny dings, and some buckle rash, but it's in very good shape. The Corvette is mint.
15. PICS: Squire: Jazz 75RI
16.
Word! P.S. Please PM me how much you're looking for for your 75RI Jazz (also, what colour is it etc?)
I'ts the natural finish. It's just had a full refret and set up done by Jim Fleeting too, so it plays gooood. Just gonna go take some pics.....
17.
Pfft he's holding on to 3 basses with his Spectors
Yep! Spectors are the best. It's a pity I can't get that USa made Mike Kroeger signature I want.....damn his bass played good.
18. I'm no longer persuing music, and I've decided to cancel my place at Leeds College Of Music. So, some of my gear is up for grabs. I don't have pics yet, but I'll be sorting some tomorrow. Here's a list, with prices: Fender Squire Japan 1987 Precision : £225 shipped. Fender Jazz Deluxe USA 5 string (rosewood) : £900 ONO Warwick Corvette Rockbass SE: £200 ONO Fender Jazz MIJ 1975 RI : Make me an offer Warwick Thumb LTD Edition 2001 Bolt On, NO. 56/150 : Make me a BIG offer! My Spectors are simply too good at everything for anything else to compete, so I may aswell sell them all except for the Spectors!
19.
Less than a year ago I had five Wal basses but I found that a bit too much... I sold a couple of them and now I have a fretless and two fretted Wal basses. This blue one I bought in December 2008 from Pete Collins and it is a great bass with a nice blue finish. I don't play it as much as my shedua so it is a pity that it is not played enough though there's nothing wrong with it, I just like the looks of the shedua more. I don't want to be a collector so I'm selling the blue one with a non original case. Serial number 2623 which situates it around 1985, olive facings.. It is in excellent condition, sounds really great from a funky slap to a nice jaco tone or a deep sub-bass. Looking for 2600 euros, it can be collected at my place (I live near Brussels so there's the Eurostar) or it can be send though I prefer a pick-up. Always ready for more pictures or any questions. I'm sorry but I'm not really looking for trades either.. Thanks Geert
What's that one on the right called? Is it also a MK1? It's identical to Rory Macdonald's Wal, and I've never known which exact model it was.... Anyway, sorry for the partial hijack, sweet looking bass, wish I could afford it!
20.
Nice collection .. TVR racing gas eh? I guess you'll be selling the rest of yoru basses soon then ... Where are you?
Heh, never selling my 80s Spector! EVER! I'm in York, btw.
21.
Good choice with TVR. If only the Jazz had a maple board.
Aye, it's gonna be a helluva effort to get one, even one with a buggered clutch and interior, but I have the means to store it and source parts. I just need the initial financial clout and the car is mine. Now buy that Jazz. ;-)
22. I am currently looking at buying myself a TVR as a project car to do up and possibly race. So, I'm gonna test the water with these basses to raise some dosh: First up is a Fender Jazz Deluxe USA 5 string, with Rosewood board: It's the one at the bottom in that pic. I've since fitted a new pearloid pickguard, which can be seen here: It's got a chip on the top of the body, under where you rest your arm. I bought it like this back in 06. It's been gigged 3 times in its entire life, and is sat not doing much. I can get better pics tomorrow. I'm looking for £1000 for this. Second up is my Rockbass Corvette SE. This really is a nice bass, with MEC Gold pickups and 2 band MEC pre amp (as fitted to my Thumb LTD Edition). It sounds like a fatter fender Jazz to my ears. Virtually mint condition. Looking for £250 ONO. Finally, but sadly with no pics (yet), is my 1987 Fender Squire Japan Precision bass. This is one of the 'E' series of basses produced in the mid 80s, with a 32 inch scale. It's a very very easy bass to play, and sounds very vintage. You can see how Japanese Squires built their reputation when you play this bass. It's got some wear on it, and I'll post pics later. I'm looking for around £300, but offers are welcome.
23. Well in that case I can definetly say this bass sounds and plays like butter. It looks stunning too.
24. Was this at the Manchester bass meet back in 06? I seem to recall playing it, and it sounded beastly.
