  1. Apparently its the last in the series, but I highly doubt we wont see another Joe Dart sig in one for or another from Musicman....
  2. Yh the Plumes is awesome on bass, and super affordable at £99 when it came out in places, was a lot of bang for little buck, the Blumes seems to be retailing about £120. So a little bit more pricey but still for a solid bass overdrive in the grand scheme for a decent price.
  3. Earthquaker have just released the bass demo for the new Blumes pedal, which is the bass version of the Plumes guitar pedal. Sounds great if you ask me! I used my band mates Plumes guitar pedal on bass before as a test and found it to be awesome if lacking a little low end so this is gonna hit the nail on the head!
  4. Good point, much easier to just google an image of the backplate of an amp, then ask someone, I just did it and got 4 serial numbers in one google search for the same model.
  5. Yh fair enough, defo turned me off in the end how pricy it all was, I only play Rotosound strings now and have been for 5-6 years. I used to go whatever was cheap on amazon so would vary massively but I found Rotos are reasonably priced, consistent and made in the UK so im sticking with that.
  6. Oh totally, ive since purchased another amp and am stoked i did, the only reason I posted is it being so odd, just wanted some 2 cents from other community members
  7. I agree to a point, but if you are wanting to sell something and everyone is asking the same question, thats on you, not the buyer and should be making the effort to make it happen.
  8. Agreed there is a lot more of them about now and multiscale is seen more and more. Totally see the benefits for the lower tuning, when I played in drop G the dinger was neeeded but I still hated the multiscale and the tiny frets in the end, just didnt work for me, so just went back to a BTB with 35'' scale and using .165 or .175 tops 🥴... do not miss those days haha
  9. I did the Dingwall thing for a bit but was just massively turned off by how hard the strings where to get and the prices of them so flipped the bass quick smart. This was a good 8-9 years back tho and think there are a lot more options now.
  10. Agreed, there was only actually one photo of the amp on the post which was the front so was unable to get it from the photo uploaded. Personally, if I was already considering selling the amp, the more helpful information I can provide to secure that sale the better, very strange indeed, thanks for the 2 cents
  11. I recently had a very strange exchange with a gentlemen on Facebook marketplace regarding an amp I was considering buying, I wont go into to any specifics here but just know it was an all tube amplifier. My enquiry was how many tube hours (roughly) the amp had been used for since the last retube, he said it is hasn't been retubed since his ownership and was the 3rd owner and couldn't account for the other owners, understandably. I said fair enough, knowing the tube age/hours is important as it could be the difference between the price of the amp plus a potential retube once I own it. So a £600 amp becomes an upwards of £1000 depending on tube number and variety to get it all rocking, to which he said, if you are concerned then don't buy it and buy new they are selling for £1300 new if you want to buy one. Valid comment and couldn't argue with that if not a bit shirty on his part. I saw passed it. So I thought worst case scenario, tubes are as old as the amp if no one has ever changed them, so I asked for the serial number of the amp so I could roughly age it and work out if it was worth the risk, which to then he replied his words 'Absolutely no way'...... very strange. Now what I want to understand is, was I being unreasonable with these questions? Is asking for the serial number of an amp you are thinking of buying not okay? Personally I don't see how having the serial number is strange at all but happy to be corrected on that.
  12. Came here to say the same, +1 for this, makes everything more consistent
  13. Cheers @silverfoxnik Cant thank you enough for introducing me to this amazing community!
  14. outregouslyyy expensive if you are doing that frequently haha agreed, i used to slowly crank the presence and the drive to offset the older strings but that only worked to a point
  15. Thanks for the kind words Jon, was a pleasure to meet you and look forward to shredding some stages with it 🤘
  16. Corr yh i agreeee, I did the same used to do 3-4 shows and replace them, in the end I just got sick of the £40 for a set of 4 strings then the £15 for the .165 gauge custom extra long string low B string...... insane times
  17. bit late to this one and glad you have made a purchase! my 2 cents on bass drive for metal depends a lot on the tuning as some drive pedals will ''bottom out'' (for lack of a better word) once you get to low. I've always worked with either Sansamp or Darkglass and from my own experiences, Sansamp is the best bass tone for anything from drop B up, after that drop A or A standard it loses something, thats where id go to Darkglass, which is naturally more mid focused anyway and therefore will punch better in the mix. depending on tunings also, naturally you will dial more bass out of your tone to avoid it getting swampy as it is already much lower then standard. apart from tunings, if your standard tuning still think can't beat Sansamp or a clone for a solid metal or rock bass tone. I used the Dr J Sparrow that was a Bass Driver clone, that thing was very cheap and sounded great. Plus was also a DI. hope that helps, keep it metal \m/ -.- \m/
  18. Absolutely love the dedication to the cause! Enjoy your updates on string lotion shenanigans Have you tried Vasiline yet? I watched an interview of Sean Hurley saying he does it some times before a studio session to dull new strings. Another one to add to the list!
