RIP Sean, a true master I watch that Veil of Maya play through all the time its unreal.

Ive had this chat with many people about a good tone on its own, verse a good tone in a band setting. I think guitar players are overly greed when they have a playing on there own, which tbh why not it sounds very full. But you cant bring that into a band setting as it just clouds the whole band sound. I think you can roll pretty much most the bass out of a guitar sound, it just adds mud tbh (in the sort of bands I play in anyway, rock and metal) but thats just me.

Echo this one, ive owned many styles of bass with varying neck types, and tbh after an hour or so ive worked it out and off I go. Like you, there are thing I like, i love a fat fat p bass neck but im at home on anything

Been a bass player for the last 10-15 years, playing in a lot of underground metal, hardcore and death metal bands in and round Essex and London.
