  1. Totally agree with this … venues really could do a bit more and at least get the band details correct !
  2. Following on from the 2023 thread I have a few questions How best for you to promote your band ? What platforms are the best ie Facebook etc ? What more can a local band do to promote up and coming performances ? Are venues poor at advertising themselves ?
  3. I read an interesting post about a CTM300 owner and his preferred EQ settings .. so I tried it on the CTM100 Previously I used all buttons out accept Deep and bass around 2pm, mids 12 0 clock and treble at 10 o’clock .. sounded good. Tried this .. All buttons out Bass 9 o clock Mids 9 o clock Treble 7 o’clock Sounded good too, less deep but still full and punchy a classic tube tone Probably get more volume as less deep and settings to try next rehearsal with band
  4. My history of online purchases from the usual players in the U.K. has been plagued by damaged faulty or B stock sent in place of new. The only advantage is being in the U.K. they are easy to deal with and return goods. Some are worse than others… PMT in particular are poor in this aspect and found GAK to be a lot better in what you receive I wouldn’t purchase overseas based on the risk or damaged goods on arrival
  5. Nice result .. the contour control is a good feature too
  6. I’ve experimented with pedals in front of the ABM600 and the better sounding pedals were the Sansamp bass drivers and the Ampeg SCRDI But to be fair straight into the amp and using the valve drive is by far the best sound and provides more dynamics
  7. I think the ABM Pro Neo cabs are the ones to get Great sounding and lightweight The speaker quality is better with the ABM series
  8. Took the Elf along to band practice tonight and tried it with both my ABM210H cabs Its loud enough and good enough to cover as a backup. It really is amazing little amp My main amp is the CTM100 or ABM600
  9. I had the GK Legacy 800 and found it was too modern and harsh sounding for my ears, moved it on Shame as they have some great features but EQ points way off the likes of Ashdown or Ampeg
  10. You will love the ABM600 for sure
  11. +1 good idea
  12. Definitely ABM600 is the amp to choose and is one of the best in the industry.., plus If you get a secondhand model and find any issues Ashdown U.K. will put it right mostly at no cost or the price of a packet of biscuits !! The only thing I’ve changed on my ABM600 was the preamp tube Great time to buy as the EVO V was launched and prices are falling on the ABM600 Check out the Ashdown owners topic on here and ask for any tips etc The amp is more of a gigging amp compared to a whisper quiet class D studio amp. However it has a great DI too for recording if that happens or sending it to the PA Finally it’s a very loud amp with authority in it’s tone that matches well with most genres Learn more about the “ Shape” feature too as that makes a difference on the amp in a band
  13. Looks like it’s threaded ? But perhaps the threads are stripped ? Superglue back in place would maybe work
  14. My new Ray34H was going to be my forever bass, it cost approx £1100 It was a terrible bass in my opinion for that price tag and I didn’t gel with it so after three months I sold it at a loss. Purchased for £700 a Player Series PBass in Tide Pool blue and it’s a gorgeous bass and very nice to play. It really is a gamble finding great basses even spending decent money especially online
  15. +1 this one .. great stand 👍
  16. As a local band we have always kept our rates very low as a way of supporting venues. If they have a good night we get paid more We do it fun and payment is a bonus to the joy of gigging. If we ventured further afield we would have to double our rates to cover fuel etc etc so we try to stay local and limit to one or two gigs per month. Biggest problem is jam nights, open mic nights and duo acts!! Venues are struggling for sure but some don’t do much to encourage people to attend and wonder why they had a quiet night !

  18. Thank you so much .. I appreciate it 👍
  19. My rig as used last weekend Our local brewery gig 👍
  20. I always found even the PF800 lacking in power compared to other similar rated Class D heads The TE Elf for example is a very loud 200w head and low price The Ashdown RM series are also very loud amps in comparison Its a shame Yamaha havnt made some new class D ampegs as they are well overdue I feel
  21. I had for a few days the V2 version and didn’t get on with it. Very dark sounding and the EQ made little difference Sent it back for refund
  22. Ok no worries.. it’s was a nice to have if it was possible Martin
  23. Ideally keep all my posts from both but instead of it saying”guest” BassAdder27 it points to my current account BassAdder60 please I can confirm I’m the same person and same email etc in both cases
  24. I like the TC clip on tuner works very well
  25. Living nearby to @lownote I too find our local Suffolk / Norfolk music scene some what limited !! We have a few decent pubs booking bands in the villages but times are tough and they seem to be cutting back. A point I notice alot is that the venues are rubbish at promoting live music so it’s a challenge making sure you post on social media about your next gig. We play at a local brewery and they have a great FB page but they don’t promote the live music they have booked and they ask why attendance is poor !!
