  1. Ok I really like PBass for rock and I’m always looking at alternatives but don’t know where to start I tried a Stingray ( Sterling ) and I just didn’t like the sound although for years before I gigged a EB Stingray with my SVT rig and loved it ! So suggest a bass ( circa £1000 max) that is great for rock that isn’t a PBass or a Stingray Ive never tried a Jazz bass with the band so I’m undecided about that as an option
  2. Headphones ? Problem solved
  3. I’m mostly the same preferring the all valve tone however .. Putting a compressor in front of my CTM100 was a good move. Im still not sure about the TC Spark Booster in front as the amp has enough natural grit
  4. Mine came from Northwest Guitars via EBay if I recall ? A perfect fit https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/p-bass-compatible-scratchplates/
  5. Any tone suck when pedals off ?
  6. I had that cab with a LM3 head and it worked well
  7. It’s so light you have to careful not to yank it off the speaker cab !!
  8. The OC-2 is now very collectible I hear .. supposedly better than the OC-3

    Polytune 3

Just purchased this tuner and I’m very impressed Had Korg and TU3 before but the Polytune 3 is nicer I like the power out link which I will take to my Keeley compressor Very nice 👍 It seems to track and tune faster than others and and the new “always on” feature with mute is a nice touch

  10. I’ve let this pickup go and swopped it for the CS62 which sounds less growly with lower output but a smoother clearer bottom end
  11. I’ve used mine as a back up amp and it will keep up with a loud band with decent speakers etc Very nice sounding amp too
  12. Fitted the CS 62 and they are very nice sounding pickups Where I hear an improvement is the clarity of the low end and a less harsh tone It’s got less output than say a Dimarzio PBass which isn’t a problem but I think it’s a noticeable upgrade to Player Series stock pups I like the copper shield base that comes with them too Definitely recommend for all genres
  13. Thank you They will be fitted today so I will see how they sound As a returning finger player I need the low mids so I think they will be fine
  14. They are definitely a louder pickup but set correctly with adjustable poles they can be tamed yet still give a mid forward grunt
  15. I tried the EVO V and I couldn’t hear a difference to my EVO IV I too changed my drive tube putting a JJ ECC83S in it
  16. Hopefully not less mids compared to the stock pups ?
  17. Having decided I must use the Keeley Bassist pedal as it’s an improvement I’ve now ordered the TC Polytune 3 Ive had Pedaltrain boards ( ok ) and now just have a cheap Boss BCB30X which has the foam removed and Velcro fitted to the bottom. Looking for ideas for small three pedal kind of boards
  18. That’s good to hear 👍 I love the Dimarzio sound although a bit too strong in the mids I was a little worried the CS62 would sound a little dark as they do indicate reduced mids Without knowing the mids comparison to the stock player series it’s tough to know if I will improve the sound. Im not lacking in mids just clarity especially finger style
  19. Hi any views of the Fender Custom Shop 62 Pbass pickup ? Is it an upgrade from a Player Series Pbass pickup ? Looking for better clarity playing finger style I’ve recently dropped the Dimarzio Pbass into one of my basses and change was dramatic ( loads more mids and hot output ) For my other Pbass I’m looking for something good as an all rounder
  20. At rehearsal tonight I discovered how hot sounding these pickups are I had to screw down the poles pieces to clean things up a bit and this seemed to do the trick nicely Definitely a rock sounding pickup with aggressive mids
  21. PMT has them for £66 each
  22. I did manage to try it in anger with the band and it’s great I was getting it as a Limiter but I think I prefer it as a mild compressor set as below. Very natural sounding and stopped the peaks nicely
  23. Update Keeley confirm it’s faulty Shop is taking it back and a new one supplied
  24. Ok Keeley have heard the video and noise. It’s gone to engineering for review but definitely looks incorrect They said they would respond in 24hrs I’m pleased as it will mean a new correct replacement from the store
  25. I think Tidepool is a difficult colour to photo, looks green but it’s more blue. A very nice colour
