  1. Hi I have a Fender MIM PBass in Silver with white pickguard and Pau fretboard Looking for suggestions to change the pickguard but I’m not sure on colour apart from black Any ideas ?
  2. My Rig ready for 2021
  3. They do match well visually and sound They come with removable castors too ! I paid just over £300 for the cab last Dec
  4. The Portaflex HE variants have the flip tops ( I don’t like ) and sealed cabs The PF115LF is a ported cab and no flip top and sounds deeper I think They are all decent but I don’t fancy latches holding my cab top together !
  5. My new rig
  6. They tell me they are expected. Like a lot of goods they are held up at the ports etc
  7. No bag supplied and out of stock at Ashdown at present
  8. Just a note .. mine came minus the mains power lead, quick email to Ashdown and service has posted one out ! I had an old lead to use in the meantime Not sure if they forget to put them in the box but not a problem Will be trying it this afternoon further and enjoy the great sounding amp
  9. and five year warranty to original purchaser if you register 👍
  10. You can always email Ashdown directly if delivery becomes silly Mark ( MD ) is very helpful and made the swop to Ashdown even easier Great company and based in Essex
  11. Ok NAD !! It arrived this morning and a quick test with the Ampeg PF115LF cab First points this is very much louder than the Ampeg PF800 in my opinion EQ and tone adjustment is also better and I found very good tones quickly, the shape button alone gets you nearly there. Fan is very quiet and build quality is good Looks good visually sitting on the Ampeg cab so may keep cab ( it’s a great cab ) Input VU level at first looks like it does get close to the red zone unless you max the input but it becomes apparent that the input level rises also as you boost EQ settings etc, on my PBass passive input set around 1pm was about right I think this is a great lightweight head and think Ashdown have got this line of amps spot on. I would imagine the RM500 would of also been loud enough for me but seeing as the price was virtually the same it was a no brainer really All features seem to work well, compressor ( ok but I tend not to use ) Drive nice if used in moderation and the lovely SubHarmoniser again if used on low is great The only thing I guess I had the ABM115 Ashdown cab but that’s only from a matching look reason !
  12. Yep I noticed the drop in price hence I grabbed one. Mine came from GAK who don’t have stock now but price is still £479 !
  13. Yes it’s virtually the same amp It was nearly the same price as the RM500 so I thought the extra headroom is worth having For the most I will be running it at 8ohms with the PF115LF cab ( 400W )
  14. I decided to move on my PF800 as the new RM800 with 5 yr warranty was too good an opportunity and I’m an hour away from Ashdown 👍
  15. Just ordered the RM800 head as the price was a great saving Ive used Ashdown in the past and was impressed Any users on here ??
  16. You can run an 8 ohm cab without any worries as long as the cab can handle the amp watts. Your BG250 head can only provide 250w into a 4 ohm speaker load so with your 8 ohm cab you will get around 125W approx from the head.
  17. Yep that’s correct mine does the same I even get it on my laptop power supply Pull it out of the socket and the LED stays on !! No issues with his PF800
  18. I’m an old guitarist so pick is easy for me but I’m decent finger player on bass and just prefer it
  19. I would be happy to get a half way tone between the two I guess Im finding I can get near to the half way tone which I actually prefer over the very different pick tone I’ve found that setting up my amp for fingers with my PBass tone control at 75% I can then add more bite by turning it to 100% and still with fingers I can get a little more punch and drive I’m happy this way I think but if not I can grab a pick for very fast lines that my fingers would struggle with
  20. No worries thanks for the update
  21. Message sent
  22. I can play both to a similar ability and my original aim was to get a similar punchy sound minus the pick as I like using fingers mostly Strange thing I played in my garage today for a change ( harder surfaces etc ) and the pict tone was way too twangy yet finger style sounded great and punchy I think setting EQ to the room plays a part but for now I’m back with finger style I think as it just feels more in contact with the instrument ( which you are of course )
  23. Hi can you tell me the age of the PF800 ?
  24. I’m really liking my PF800 amp since I dropped finger style and went over to using a pick on my PBass. What a difference it makes using a pick bringing out so much more punch and clarity Also it’s a lot louder with a pick !!
  25. Has anyone found a way to get close to a pick tone but using fingers ? Im trying to get close to Lounge Act by Nirvana and would prefer to play finger style ideally It has a great tone and I know folk will say use a pick etc etc but just curious if anyone has got close without sticking something on your fingers etc and tweeking EQ etc
