  1. Just ordered a second matching cab for the ABM210H This will make a nice rig I think and so light too
  2. Yep the Original 500 has been also dropped but the smaller Original HD1 ( Red one ) is still available on the website If you look at the number of heads they offer it’s huge so I’m not surprised the slower selling models have gone Only just discovered that the RM800 has different feet spacing ( screwed on ) compared to the RM500 that has stick on feet I believe ?? and the feet are wider apart which sits on the top handled cabs better
  3. Just noticed the RM300 head has been discontinued Ashdown said most people purchased the 500 or 800 models I did see Andertons have ten in stock if anyone interested?
  4. My Ampeg PF115LF was up for sale on here and now sold Its ported but gets better reviews than the sealed version !
  5. It’s not easy finding rugs that match rigs but I managed to source one 👍🤟
  6. The new ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo arrived today Lovely match with my RM head And so light, single handle lift Will add a second one in time.
  7. I’m sure the custom shop would !!
  8. What are the ABM210H EVO Pro Neo cabs like to lift with just one top handle ? Any covers for them out yet ?
  9. Ampeg PF115LF + Ampeg Cover for sale 400W 8 ohm 15” speaker As new condition complete with removable castors Ampeg cover included As I have original box ( purchased Dec 20 ) we can discuss shipping within the U.K. if you wish to arrange a courier to collect If you are within driving distance of Suffolk and when restrictions allow I’m happy to consider a trade for an amp head around 300W upwards
  10. I liked the diagonal design as it raises the cab height slightly too 👍
  11. Just ordered the ABM EVO 210 Pro Neo cab to go with my RM head Will use this for small gigs and practice and add a second for large gigs I like the the layout of the two tens in this cab ie not side by side but diagonal like the RM cab Decided to let my Ampeg PF115LF go
  12. So after going back and forth I’m certain I will stay as a finger player 99% of the time I have found that by adjusting my amp EQ I can get a pleasing punchy full tone that is good for the rock I’m playing. Im going to put some Prosteels on my bass next time too for a little more brightness / bite Good as I am with a pick it doesn’t connect in the same way as fingers from a feel point of view
  13. That makes me think do I buy a second PF115LF so I have both when huge volume needed ( rare ) or a BF210 so I’m left with two cabs that I wouldn’t run together and use on their own Maybe the 212 would be the way but they are so expensive!!
  14. When you run your BF210 vertically how does it effect the port which I believe is at the side, so when vertical it will be facing the floor Would a single BF210 be loud enough to gig in most pubs etc a four piece rock band ?
  15. I would be tempted to go for a BF210 cab Might consider that in the future
  16. Interesting discovery today with my RM800 Playing with a pick ( starting to prefer for my current rock plans / band ) my previous EQ settings on the RM800 just didn’t work where I had them for finger style. You may recall I said using the Shape In ( smiley face EQ ) was too boomy with fingers .. well Using a pick and selecting Shape In and EQ all flat ( or out ) the tone with a PBass was superb and deep yet punchy I could roll back the tone on my PBass to get a warmer more rounded tone or bright and zingy by cranking it. It just made the amp come alive and the input gain increased too by pushing in Shape so I pulled that back a tad. Do you think amp designers design the basic EQ sound around a pick player or fingers ? To me the Ashdown seems more alive and at home with a pick and PBass Interesting! Also I had planned to get a second cab at some point ( using the Ampeg PF115LF) but the clarity and perceived loudness playing with a pick may make this unnecessary!!
  17. Mine came as a players pack of six in different colours but all standard version I believe
  18. Your settings were “ O Clock “ I assume ? I ran mine like that backing off the bass and boosting the mids .. I liked it until I turned it up more and it sounded boomy I now run it off so Shape out with more bass and a reduction in 240hz and it gets a punchy sound. I found it worked better with the drive as well and finally using a pick it just rocked ! Depends on the tone you seek, mine is more Lounge Act Nirvana !!
  19. Just got some Dava picks and I’m really impressed with them Will use them for now me thinks 👍
  20. I have the PF115LF ported non flip top cab 👍
  21. How about asking a local music store if they have any combo boxes they would let you have ( or speaker cab box ) You may have to buy it but at least it would be in a secure packaging of sorts I’ve shipped a ton of heavy valve amps in the past but always in the original box and mostly using DPD who shops like PMT and Andertons tend to use. Good luck with your sale
  22. I think how many in the band can make a difference to how bass players become a visual interest Three or four piece bands can result in the bass player being noticed ! Larger bands gives less opportunities for the bassist to be front of stage All in context and if you enjoy being a great bass player and static that’s good as well as being a great bass player moving and engaging with the audience Whichever you and the band enjoy and ultimately the audience
  23. There is a good point here but more so from an audience point of view. For many after learning to play they get into a band ... Next thing is they have to play standing up eek !! Playing without looking at the fretboard is something else that doesn’t seem important when learning but in a band you need to use not only your ears to listen to the complete band sound but watch what’s going on and be part of the visual experience. Its not always the easiest skill to engage with an audience and playing your instrument is only the first part of being in a band as other things come into play Strangely I can play bass more by feel and less looking but when gigging on guitar especially playing lead I was mostly looking at the fretboard in fear of playing something wrong !
  24. Following my recent thread fingers or pick I have been trying some 1mm JD Big Stubby and I like them Ive ordered some Dava Control too I’ve played guitar with picks for years settling on JD Tortex Standard 1mm Whats you favourite pick / gauge and why
  25. I find it more annoying that items in the house vibrate when you turn up too loud I think you have little choice playing loud at home or wear headphones if it has that as an option
