  1. Its OK calm down he can't play the patterns whilst standing on one leg😀
  2. My very own thoughts. Why spoil it it looks lovely
  3. It might be an idea to publish this guys ebay details on here so people don't get taken in by him like you did.
  4. Went to Mick's home yesterday to collect an empty 210 cab he gave me as a donation to my project. Had a great couple of hours talking bass and b****x as men do while Thea his lovely friendly dog gave me a bath and cuddles. She has many ways to succeed in her attention seeking Great afternoon and a great and generous BCer. A true gent and a delight to visit if you get the chance don't hesitate 🤗
  5. It goes far enough to be too loud in a house even switched over to 7 watts. The valve amp tone and response was the reason to try it out. I was busy yesterday visiting The Greek and Thea his delightfull attention seeking dog where I was given coffee, conversation and an empty cab from him and cuddles and a bath from her but I will find out today if the send and return is pre or post eq section. If it is post then it can be used like a valve driven preamp into the DI of FOH PA. For me valve tone, response and sustain are just so nice to play. I've never used a tranny amp that can get close to that feel. I don't know if it can work used in that way but I aim to find out.😀
  6. Good morning. After days of procrastination about it I have finally got around to having a little experimental play with a Harley Benton Mighty-15TH guitar amp put through a 15" bass cab. For smallish space playing in my room at home this little 15w valve amp sounds rather lovely. Plenty of tone to choose from and that nice valve warmth. It has a choice of 7w or 15w power settings and also a send return circuit on the rear panel. Any idea as to if you can successfully D I this to a FOH desk using the send output while having it as a monitor using a modest cab or speaker emulator with in ear fold back? I am going to try it with 10's later and may also try with a softer ECC82 valve option. Have some JJ's sat in front of me I bought to experiment with a tube screamer. Anyone else tried out these little valve jobs for practice or studio use Not just HB there are others about like Red Sub etc I have one of those as well I will give a whirl as time permits
  7. Thank you so much. That is good news to my ears or should I say eyes. I lean towards bottom end in my tone preferences and hardly ever put any top on the amp at all. In fact I have a habit of leaving all tone controls at 12 o'clock and just adjusting tone on the bass itself which will nearly always be on the bass side of a central detente on say an active bass tone control.
  8. Thank you for that. It isn't a thing I need. It is a thing I just want to try specifically to see how it handles my Peavey Mini Mega without lugging around a 410 + a 210 without spending close to £1000 I already have other things to use for home and smaller places.
  9. Thank you so much I don't have the Ashdown box as I bought it for my grandson and gave it to him after fixing it's own speakers. Long short story I had already given him an Ashdown electrtic blue 180 the 15" version so I figured the 210 would compliment that. Any ideas on that program of suggested internal dimensions for the box. L,W,H. I have a Peavy frontline 210 I could copy but I really want to try a 210 vertical configuration and build from 12mm high end ply.
  10. Or maybe just Save bearing in mind the cost of the project compared to a Wal
  11. It is important you don't try to adjust the truss rod with the strings under full tension. Slacken them off between each adjustment or put tension on the neck physically yourself to take tension off the strings to help the truss be adjusted. You don't mention if your original strings were the same gauge 45-105. If they were say 100's then your nut slots may be tight with the 105's and the strings might not even be seated properly in the nut or bridge. Have a peek and see if there is any daylight to be seen in the slots under the strings. See how high the string clearance is at the first fret. It should by tiny. I am talking basics here but you did say you were without experience so I figure going back to basics won't hurt. If you have a straight edge loosen the strings and then adjust the truss rod until the neck it straight. It will then slightly bend forward giving you neck relief when under tension. Measure the relief and repeat as required until you are happy. One last thing. It has been stood a long time. Make sure the neck bolts are nice and tight as well before you do any of the above as they may well have settled while up in the attic. Not the best place for guitars. Let it and you rest between steady tweaking sessions. It will come good.
  12. I bought 2 used Fane Sovereign 10-300's some while ago to replace some troubled Ashdown blues in a 2x10 cab. In the end I fitted new suspension wires which cured the problem. I bought them from Blue Aran on ebay so I imagine they are OK they are 8 ohm each I fancy doing a self build cab for them but don't want to build in vain and waste time through ignorance. So 2 questions 1 does anyone have a known trusted design available on here that I could follow 2 Are they worth it. Apologies if this is already covered some where on here I did a search but got more results than I could face wadding through.
  13. Your there! It's already reliced 😀 How about an oval ray type scratch plate to cover the routes. It will save trying to get good fit and timber match for the routeing. Just a thought Sorry didn't realise you have done it already
  14. How much did you pay for? All times are metered if you can't get satisfaction within the time you paid for you are not tying hard enough and will have to pay extra. 🤣 Be quick about it as well the 3 inflation buses will be here soon.
  15. I kind of suspect that bass was finished long ago by now. Maybe even before all the scientific discussions took place. Just a thought.
  16. Ralf1e

    I is here

Welcome Leroy. Great idea and don't forget the drum kit as well 😉
  17. There is a black one up for sale on either gumtree or facebook market orc evil bay for I thought a good price. Can't remember which it was. Sorry it's not black its white and in Scotland on ebay seller has no feedback
  18. I have a Squier P bass 50th anniversary 1996 I bought for £50 made in Taiwan (apparently they are very good) Gave it a neck shim and some love. Unbelievable transformation. I was stunned when I played it. Great feel, huge sound, lightish weight. My cheapest bass but not put to shame by some of the other higher value I own. I'll join you.
  19. You do know we are not all the same shape don't you. But I do get your point or I would if I didn't have my Hart Guitars multiscale headless 5 string. Has that got us back on topic. Probably not but who gives a monkeys banana when you are chilling out as we should be on here.😀
  20. Is that safe! Won't we get handcuffed for playing too many notes and having ideas and brains🤣
  21. Your right now if only we knew any musicians who could make them.
  22. Another cool album title there BTW... Or is there one already
  23. Yet they can still get it piped in if the organ dies. I shot the organ, but I did not shoot the deputy🤣
