1. There's also a brand new Celinder P at The Bass Gallery that those looking for a more vintage vibe might like, it's 3TS and setup for flats.
2. Whoda thought it? A WW amp tech less than 10 minutes from where I live. Who is it? Surely not based at Spectre Sound?
3. I love my Celinder. It's the best bass I've ever played by miles. It's worth every bit of the wait and every one of the considerable number of pennies I paid. A brilliant bass.
4. Some dancing shoes, a belt, a packet of condoms and a pack of bacon. That should get you through your first week.
5. I really enjoyed it when I played it - and the Roscoe B is excellent
6. "the seller refused cash (didn't comment on collection or request for photos of the back of the bass)" That's always too much risk for me. Just too much of a big red flag.
7.
Glad the Sadowsky was a hit, but I have to say it's a keeper and defo not for sale
And not for want of my trying
8.
I also love my NV610, but sometimes it is COMPLETE overkill!
It's like a perverted uncle at a family party - it never fails to make an impression on someone.
9. Not interested in the Bergs (love my NV610), but very interested in the Tulip wood 535, as always, Ari
10. I've played this one too, and it was really nice.
11. What does it weigh, please?
12.
The general understanding of Walter's work is that it's a step or two beyond the skills of most repair guys. Supposedly he's got a lot of stuff in there that most guys simply can't get their heads around.
That has to be just marketing hype / people justifying expensive amps to themselves "it sounds better because WW is so faaaar oooout maaaaang". There's only so complicated a circuit can get, and even if he is scratching values off components there's still tried and tested, fast and simple ways to diagnose them - which all amp techs worth their salt know.
13. What's unreasonable / immature about taking a broken amp to a tech? It's basic logic, my man.
14. It's no secret that Shuker's don't usually do it for me but this looks REALLY nice.
15. That setup seems eminently sensible, Rich. The only thing you may want to watch is that volume pedals are known for their capacity to leech treble, and cause impedance issues after their own place in the chain. Your own ears are really the best judge. Joe.
16.
what happens if the amp breaks down?
You take it to a tech and get it fixed. That's what normal people do. I guess there's always the option of praying to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that it will work again.
17. It's a very enjoyable chatting ******** / bass widdlefest. You'll have to go outside to avoid the noise at some point. It's guaranteed.
18. Not this weekend, but I did do a little project on a DOD250 that I'm going to write up when I get home from work and post here. I think you'll like it
19. What's your cash price? Cheers.
20. It makes the best octaver I've had the pleasure to use.
21. There's an audible difference between my rig with a brand new Stagg speakon and an OBBM speakon. That's not imagined, I've done a double blind test. I could always tell the difference between the two with 100% accuracy. The OBBM cable sounds that much better.
