  1. Is it any good for metal?
  2. Thanks. Post now corrected.
  3. I noticed some impossible animal related lyrics. R.E.M. The Great Beyond. I'm pushing an elephant up the stairs . Come on Michael, really. I don't think you are that strong! Stereophonics. I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio. If I had myself a flying giraffe, You'd have one in a box with a window. Giraffes walk, they can't fly. You'd need a huge box to hold one too. Kelly, you are having a giraffe!
  4. I can assure you the E string will not be a problem after pushing the middle pole pieces. You can always lower that side if required.
  5. Yes, there are other avenues to explore first. I tried all the other options and posted about some of them. The only solution was to follow the pole piece one. I was ready to leave my Ray at home and not gig with it as it was so off putting. I hope you find a solution.
  6. This is a well documented issue here. I had the same problem many years ago. The thread is. funkgod posted his solution on the thread. I have pasted it below to save reading through it. The solution to adjust the PUP poles. It work for me and i have never looked back. Good luck. I have had 3 stingrays all with the same problem, as artisan has said the two middle poles A and D are taller, so you cant tilt the pick up to the G string as it just makes the D louder. NOT only this but if you look at the pick up from above you will see the G string is not in the middle of the pole it misses centre by a quarter so its only a quarter over the pole piece, so its not getting the middle of the field. but reg the pole height there is a cure !! on the E.B. stingrays if you want to chance it.... take the pick up out you can leave it connected THE 4 middle poles WILL push down, the 4 outside ones WONT push up because of the coil tensions at the ends, the middle ones will do it slow then when you put it back you can raise the pick up. JOB DONE And remember you heared it here first folks, (or mabe not) the main problem is the pick up is too large for the string spacing.
  7. Great thread this. We introduced the song into our set some time ago and it's great to play. I have kept it fairly simple whilst trying to retain some of the flavour. I'll take another look at it with download from Dad 3353. When i was learning this i found the best YouTube video cover was this one.
  8. Hi and welcome. I'm sure the forum will help keep you busy with your bass.
  9. I listen to music when riding my motorcycle. I have a Bluetooth headset and have ripped a load of CD's, especially compilations so I have a varied list, all on shuffle. It is a great way to listen to new and familiar tunes. At home it's YouTube more than anything else.
  10. First Aid Kit. Amazing voices and harmonies.
  11. Got 14. Wasn't sure about the double bass player.
  12. Just the the right bass line for the song, more or less.
  13. Great song. We used to play it. Luckily there was a quality bass transcription alongside the guitar in a magazine our guitarist had.
  14. That's nice. I borrowing a MM Jazz from a mate. Wow, what a bass. I'm really impressed and an Gassing for one but must restrain myself. GLWS.
  15. I bought one earlier this year. Lots of love from them here which helped my choice. Only got to gig with it 3 times before lockdown.
  16. The prospect of the Gallaghers being at a shooting club is plausible, but surely another attempt with the cannon and a larger charge would have been performed?
  17. 'She's buying a stairway to heaven.' You don't buy a stairway to a place, you buy it for a place. The existence of heaven is unknown too. Back to Champagne Supernova. 'Slowly walking down the hall. Faster than a cannonball.' Really, how does that work then?
  18. Dave Peacock and his P Bass.
  19. Same here. My custom plugs have kept me going. So good I use them when riding my motorcycle too and listening to music through my headset.
  20. Another one to add to the collection. Great sound and version.
  21. Always on. With my Ashdown RM500 evo 2 and my previous TC Classic 450 Spectracomp
  22. I'm borrowing a friend's Marcus Miller Jazz which is definitely not boring and is giving me GAS.
  23. Bought a Trace Elliot Series 6 AH200 amp from Loz. A very pleasant transaction and great comms. Another courier issue (don't ship on a Friday 😁) but not a problem. Well packaged, and as described. Deal with confidence. Many thanks.
  24. I live in South Devon. Plenty of live music here. Can't vouch for North Devon or Cornwall but check Lemonrock. If Dave Holwil's book 'Weekend Rockstars' is anything to go by then North Devon is fine. What the post Covid live music scene will be like is anyone's guess!
  25. From what i remember very good. Although just hanging out with Guy at the Manson's stand at their guitar show was better. It was then end of the show and he was hanging around as he had a stand up gig in Exeter that evening. We kept him company for a while and i bought his book which he signed for me.
