1.
This sound likek my Streamliner thread. I just had to keep withdrawing it. Some gigs it worked really well, others it didnt. End of the day i had something i liked a bit better so one had to go. I do sometimes think the wrong one went. The Streamliner is a fantastic head and i really miss how much authority each note gets with this head. Whoever buys this is in for a treat.
Couldn't agree more. As I said, it's a lovely head but just more power than I need, and as such I'd rather release some £. The waiting list has now reached five Basschatters!
2.
Sell the '73, and buy my '58, that sounds like a plan!!
Indeed it does!
3.
The Bass V is not one of mine, although like you, I've always fancied one, for curiosity value only i suspect. I think 5 mins after buying it, I'd probably question what possessed me. They are lovely looking instruments though, and the shortscale makes it interesting, one day maybe, it would have to be a dot neck sunburst though. I nearly bought one from new york a few years ago, but it didnt have the impossible to find bridge cover or case, and i'm a bit obsessed with things being 'right', so passed on it, was great value though.
Yes, that's sort of my impression of them too, but I thought they were 34" scale?
Just noticed you have a Fretless Precision, after my previous reply! To add to that, i think my lack of musical ability with the instrument I love, was the main factor in me not quite knowing what to do with it, rather than the instrument itself!
I do indeed, and a lovely bass it is too! Am selling a '73 fretless too, which I had put out as trade bait for the bass you have for offer here, but now I understand why you wouldn't be interested!
4. Guys I'm sorry to mess you about, but you know how it is... Anyway, definitely up for sale and I won't withdraw it again.
5. Back up at £440 plus post, now including a Gator gig bag.
6. Completely off topic, for which I apologise, but I love the Bass V on your website! Did you used to own it? I have always wanted one, but not sure why
7. Hi guys Seems I'm not getting email notifications so apologies for the delay in responding. Having thought about it some more, I've decided to just keep this amp. It's too good to trade down from. Will change the thread title accordingly. Cheers Gareth
8. The radius template worked a treat, and it looks like it is 7.25" after all. Thanks for all the help people. Just need to deal with the ski jump choking the notes between the 17th and 19th frets now: sanding block anyone?
9.
When would be convenient?
I'll PM you.
10.
Any chance that I could try it again, this time with the Berg?
Of course Dave!
11. Well, turns out this is still available after all
12. Get one of these string action gauges from Stewart Macdonald and you'll never look back!
13.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 7.5". Here's some gauges in pdf format - although 7.5" isn't there it should give you a decent idea.
That's great, thanks very much!
14. Hello all I want to give the board on my bass a light sand but need to get the right sanding block. I assume it'll be 9.5" radius but can anyone confirm this? Cheers Gareth
15. Depends how big and loud your band is, but I use mine with the Ashdwn LB212 cab and it does the job no problem. There's always the DI out too...
16.
Well you did try and convince me to get one when you brought it round for me to try a few weeks ago. It would go well with the SL112s and the AE212.
Indeed I did, and yes it would!
17. Astonished at the level of interest in this amp. If anything changes I wil be back in touch. Cheers all Gareth
18. Morning all Decided to sell my Streamliner 600, simply because it's way more powerful than I need and my LB30/ABM300 heads are more than adequate for my gigs at the moment. A couple of light scratches to the case, but overall in tip top condition. Has the fairly typical scratchy volume pot problem, but that's probably due to lack of use on my part to be honest! A firm £440 posted, which includes a brand new Gator gig bag, or collection from Central London or NE Hampshire welcome. Cheers Gareth
19. Fantatsic news Rod, it was a pleasure to help and I am so glad the amp is delivering! And Dave, nice score on the AE212! Cheers Gareth
20.
Are those lollipops?
Sure are, and threaded saddles too, so a real transition bass.
21. Here's my new (to me) 1970 fretless.
22. Same shim too!
