1.
Is this still available.
Sorry, need to update the thread, it's withdrawn from sale.
2. Thanks. Now £170 Amp serviced and all tickety-boo.
3.
As I live in yeovil and work in sherborne, this is pretty close to me. So what happens at one of these things, and what is good to bring?
You could bring your Rockinbetter along for people to try out, you might get a sale or trade, that is after you've gone through the initiation ceremony that Keith so masterfully presides over.... It's generally a nice chilled time ans a chance to meet some other local bass players, have a go on some gear that you might not have tried before. They're a very friendly bunch in Dorset, and it's very relaxed (once the initiation ceremony has taken place that is)
4. Jon, that's a brilliant gig.....nice one. I love The Beat.....and The Intercepteurs,....of course...playing the upright?
5. Great night, great venue.
6.
Bash Update News Local Luthier Ben Crowe will be joining us on the day, bringing a Perspex Bass he built for Charlie Jones and a selection of the set-up tools he sells on his website:http://crimsonguitars.com/ . He will happily answer questions so we'll do a little Q&A session too.
Good call Keith, that's a nice coup. Crimson guitars are brilliant!
7.
PM'd
Paul!! Replied mate.
8. Temp withdrawn as I've noticed a hum when it turns on, all works ok, but not sure what this is means, so taking to local tech tomorrow.
9. Bump for trade option of an amp head
10. Come and say allo Sunday night. http://www.musicglue.com/half-moon-putney/events/2-feb-14-jim-penfold--the-hollywood-killers--half-moon--putney/
11. Mike bought an old MIJ P bass from me. All good, had nice chat and a cuppa. Good chap is our Mike, sell things to him with confidence! John
12.
I used it a few times with a Tonehammer 500 and it sounded great. It easily filled a large hall without PA support.
Ah, yes I saw that in your sig. Thanks. I'm torn between a 4x8 and a 1x12. Used both before but neither with a PF head.
13. Mmmmm, wondering what this would be like with a PF500??!! ......now we know that he knows that you know :-)
14. Trade for something? Try me.... I'll be playing at Half Moon Putney on 2nd Feb, so can bring along for any interested London BCers
15.
Any news on the controls please? Cheers.
I had a B4, brilliant bass. It had an adjustable eq (via the rear cavity using mini screwdriver). The switch at the front switched between the preset factory setting and the "self adjusted" setting. I'd assume the switch on the B2 does the same. John
16.
Hi OS, what does this little beauty weigh ?
I'm away at the mo, so can't weigh I'm afraid. It's not as heavy as I had imagined it would be. Won't be able to let this go till after beg Feb as I have a gig on 2nd, and it would be handy to have an amp I guess.
17.
Obviously I looked very different to those who saw me next year due to my regeneration, hope that did not cause any confusion me now being female and left handed...?
At least the dress makes sense this time around..... :-)
18.
It was nice to meet everyone who came to the Gallifrey bassbash next year.
Looking forward to having met you for the first time again.
19.
Indeed! I'm not selling, sorry John
:-)
20. Bought a bass from Ash...again :-) No problems, great communication throughout and bass arrived safe and sound, exactly how described. Thanks! John
21. That is crazy money. I had the fretless version, it had the nearest to a double bass tone from an electric I've heard, also had a great electric tone, light as a feather too......yet another bass I wish I'd kept.
22. Bought this CMI P bass as a stop gap as I don't currently own a bass (NBD today hopefully). It's probably from the 1970's and (as far as I know) has all the original hardware. The body is ply, I'm pretty sure. It was in a pretty bad state when I bought it, but I cleaned it as best I could, put a newer bridge on as I prefer individual saddle adjustment. But original Brass saddled bridge will come with it. It's an old used bass, and has marks and scratches on it. But nothing structural. Sounds like a P bass should, albeit a little lower in output than previous MIJ Fender Ps I've owned. But its a sweet little bass, with a slim neck, not at all baseball bat chunky P profile. When setting it up, I found the truss rod was really stiff, probably through age, so I didn't want to try moving it anymore. As a result the action is slightly higher than I would normally have, but I have a light touch, so its fine if you like to "dig in" as I hear some of you say. I shimmed the neck with a business card to help lower the action. I've used it at home as something to noodle on. If I were to keep it and use it, I'd probably swap the machineheads out. Anyway, might suit as a backup, or project, or parts, or first instrument, or something to leave at work, or as none of these things. Could ship for a bit more, say £80.

Sold!

I do many stupid things on a daily basis, and selling my Wilkes bass was one of those times. Really well made, great hardware, lovely neck and Doug was brilliant at giving information about the guitar, even though I wasn't the original owner. I got the impression that he really cared about his guitars. Buy from Ash with confidence too, top bloke!
24. Paul bought a pedal from me. Swift payment, great comms, easy transaction. Top man, thank you. John
