These things are gorgeous in every way. It's a very modern sound (well, of its time anyway) from what I remember, slap tone to die for. Buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it, ooooh you know you want to. That German price is a steal.

One thing is that the cab with the lower impedance, i.e. the combo itself, will be getting more of those watts and will therefore *in theory* be louder than the Ashdown cab.

OK, so what happened to the discussion re: colour that was developing here? Several comments seem to have disappeared without trace! And no, they haven't been mod-deleted.

And that, my friends, would be a brilliant bona-fide bang-for-buck bargain. How's that for a spot of early morning alliteration?
+1 for a terrific amp. -
Enjoy

Claypool's timing seems OK, but his intonation on fretless absolutely sucks. I've never understood the fuss about this guy. You want to hear off the wall fretless playing? Go check out some of Mick Karn's work.
Sorry, a bit off topic but I had to get that off my chest. -
IIRC Tom wotnwhy had/has a Glock cab..?
EDIT: Yes, he does -
Handsome beasty.
The bass is nice too.

Blimey, for a strange neck profile you ought to try my Wal. Never mind a D, it's more like a > ..!
The TRBsixers are lovely instruments, but with the standard string spacing they are simply too wwwwwwide for my silly stumpy little fingers. Such a pity, cos they really are gorgeous. -
Oh yes, the time is right and the moment is ripe and, errm, lots of other stuff basically meaning 'yes let's do it'

No... she got pissed off about a perceived sexism issue a while back, and disappeared completely. AFAIK she hasn't been back at all since. Shame.

I'm slightly further out in the sticks, in Nailsea, but hey it isn't far into town
Epilepsy isn't like fainting.
Sheeeit, you aren't wrong there. I'm amazed she managed to play at all -- whenever I've had a seizure in the past it's taken me hours, days to start feeling right again. Christ, it takes me a while to even remember my own name, never mind how to play.

I want them to make a fretless 5 just like this. Perhaps if I asked them nicely they would.

Hi Pete and welcome, from a fellow Bristol bassist also in a big soul-r'n'b-pop-funk-lunacy band (see sig for details!)
There's a whole load of us Bristlers on here, we're going to have to organise another BC-Bristol night on the ale soon! -
Bass Cellar... I gave up going there after getting fed up with either their total indifference or else being made to feel as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool.
+1. They will never get any of my money.
So I was wondering are there any bass only shops/ guitar shops with big bass sections that you walk away form with a big grin on your face EVERY time you go in.....
Yes... the Bass Centre, in Wapping, circa 1986
*sigh* ahhhh those were the days, my friend... -
Also, look in the BC For Sale section.
+1, definitely a good place to start. Buy in confidence from one of our august body!

"Skull & Boner"? Presumably so called because you'd feel a bit of a prick if you played it in public.

Ah, but they have also said that they'll send a new o/p trans if it doesn't cure it. At least they aren't adopting the *shrug* "not my problem mate" approach that some amp manufacturers seem to take.
