  1. I bought this in January this year. It's a wonderful bass. The neck is super smooth and from what I've read this is the upgrade to the original Metro models. Ive never used it live and it's never left its case or the house. You will see the original shrink wrap still on the control plate. This clip gives you all the info you will ever need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15WCG7cZtV4 Roger Sadowsky's goal was always to improve an already very successful bass design by making several detailed improvements. Along with the electronics, which he developed by himself, he succeeded in raising the well-known J bass sound to a new level, so today you can speak of a typical Sadowsky tone: Never harsh or shrill sounding, with strong, powerful but never muddy bass, with present, but not too aggressive mids, and a sweet and airy treble range. All features of this modern bass sound can also be found in the 21-Fret J basses of the MetroExpress series. •Sadowsky MetroExpress 21-Fret Hybrid P/J Bass • right-hand version •4-string electric bass •34" (864 mm) long scale •bolt-on construction •Okume body •Maple neck •Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard •12" fingerboard radius •Sadowsky Just-A-Nut III nut •1.5" (38.5 mm) nut width •21 nickel silver frets (width: 0.094" (2.4 mm) / height: 0.051" (1.3 mm)) •passive Sadowsky J-Style pickup (neck) •passive Sadowsky J-Style pickup (bridge) •active Sadowsky 2-way electronics •controls for Volume / Balance / Treble / Bass •Sadowsky Light machine heads with open gear •string spacing 2.36" (60 mm) •Sadowsky S-style security locks •Sadowsky bridge with quick string release •chrome hardware •stainless steel 045 - 105 strings •Solid Sage Green Metallic High Polish finish •incl. hex key tools •incl. 2. Hohner Professional 'The Jack' 4-String Bass in its much rarer passive guise. One of the most sought-after 1980s basses due to its easy playability and light body weight 'The Jack' has a maple body with a natural/honeyed finish and a maple neck with a rosewood 24-fret fingerboard and truss rod. All of the hardware is black, including two 'EMG Select' humbuckers and the licenced Steinberger bridge/tailpiece, tone control and two volume controls. It's in great condition and has recently had a new set of strings fitted. Well looked after. Happy to discuss postage to a UK address Thanks for looking
  3. Absolute Legend. Incredible voice
  4. The bass is in great condition. Aside from a wonky control knob. I’ve never seen them go for that sort of money. I think given the current market it’s a fair price
  5. Thanks for the comments. They are truly beautiful instruments.
  6. Beautiful example of these iconic basses. The classic colour and scratch plate combination. The neck on these basses is so smooth. In excellent condition for a vintage instrument. All original parts. The tone knob has a very slight bend on it. I’ve never wanted to bend it back as I’m not brave enough. Happy to meet up local to Birmingham or arrange delivery, sharing the cost. serial number : JV11586 Thanks for looking
  7. A true legend and his bass lines have driven some of the most iconic songs of the 80’s. RIP
  8. Great thread. I first played bass at 12 in the school band and trombone. First real gig outside that enviroment was in 85 St Chads Cathederal in Brum did a Live Aid thing and " State of Art" did a 45 minute set of covers. My Kay Bass and Sunno bass amp in the pocket!
  9. Really enjoyed listening to this. I like Rio by Duran and jamerson. The rest all work for the song, but all basically Rock based songs.
  10. I sometimes dep in a Quo tribute. I dont think the rossi guy would like it but i love it. Colour is beautiful
  11. Are you happy with your hair brush?
  12. Lovely! How exciting. Look forward to your unfolding story
  13. Evening. Can anyone advice on what i would need to look for to replace the pups on my Honher Jack 4 string? i have the dimensions of the pups at 68mm length x 32mm wide. This is an approximate size ( my eye sight is stinky poo) The bass is passive. Ive gone back to it after it sitting dormant for a while. I like bridge pup but the neck pup is very dull. . I was thinking about converting to an active bass. However not sure if this is possible? @KiOgon Any advice appreciated KP
  14. Wonderful musician. Loved his work with Ellis Beggs & Howard. His Chapman stick playing was so cool
  15. I see this as being very simple. its a ZON. Can you move the capacitor or as suggested just leave it in the cavity.
  16. Hello all i have a Bassbone OD which, is 15v. My question is. How do I use my voodoo lab to power this? When I only have 9 & 18 V options on the power brick? Thanks in advance

  18. More power to ya. I completly agree regarding the room feel. I sometimnes think it would be worth the engineer dropping a couple of microphones on the room so they can add a bit of bleed into the mix
  19. It is with some tinge of sadness i write this post. As an avid chatter, I generally check out all sections just in case. However i realised ive stop looking at the Amp and Cap Section. Ive just turned 52, so lumped all the classic amps & caps up flights of stairs, 1 x 15 , 4 x 10 , 6 x 10 and the 8 X 10 beast with all manor of heads. i moved to a Helix Stomp and IE set up a couple of years ago and have no need for an amp. I use a bassbone DI and a Bass rig 64 as back ups, all on the same pedal board. I have a lovely Markbass head and cap in the studio gathering dust. I honestly never thought i would not own an amp, but im serioiusly considering getting rid of the MB rig. The helix is perect for my setup, deb gigs etc. What to do. Im serioiusly conflicted. Has anyone just gone completley amp free?
  20. Thats Clean playing brother
