1.
Xotic Bass BB pre-amp - would be perfect for what you're looking for........
+1 I second this. Great sound and great price.
  2.
love that Iron Horse ! it rips, and plenty of bottom end too. your recording on this is excellent too !
Thanks man Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the Iron Horse. Sort of Rat-ish on certain settings but gets a little fuzzy (not a bad thing) on higher gain settings with active pickups. The middle position on the toggle is my favorite as the midrange really cuts through.

    Why?

I never use pedals of any kind.

  6. Xotic BB gets my vote. Simple, SMALL, and sounds great. Just a touch of warmth or a whole lotta grind - it covers it all.
  7. Awwwwww ain't that adorable
  8.
cheers Mr.Excane, i was looking forward to this demo, and it did not disappoint in any way. finding a Depth Charge (without going direct) is proving difficult. i'm saving my pennies now. nice one, si
Thanks man

  11. My 2 recommendations (varies GREATLY on your budget) 1) Darkglass B3K Overdrive (expensive option) 2)The Xotic BB Bass preamp. Fantastic SMALL footprint pedal that will go from clean boost to all our dirt. Independent treble and bass controls along with your master volume and gain.
  12.
Finally loaded up my Pedaltrain Nano with the bare essentials. Sadowsky Pre-Amp/DI with Korg DT-10BK on the Tuner Out, into Aguilar TLC, into MojoHand Cream Pie. Sorry for the crappy pic. iPod Touch strikes again!! All powered by a Johnnyshredfreak power supply. I'm thinking of getting another couple of Nanos and going with a modular setup. Seeing as a Nano will fit 4 regular sized pedals, that will always leave a spare output on the Daisy chain so I could power more than one board with one power supply. All held down with Pedalboard Tape (ripped all the velcro off the board and pedals. It's brilliant stuff, can't believe how strong it is!) and wired up with George L's.
Nice! I like the choice of pedals.... How about a Korg Pitchblack or Polytune - something smaller? You then might be able to fit another pedal on there and we all know MOAR IS BETTER

  17.
That sounds like a microscopic pedalboard Seriously though, it sounds like a good idea if you're good at that sort of thing.
Maybe I should have clarified.... the wood stock should be 1"x1" and CUT to 20" or 24" long by 12" or 15" deep to form the rectangular frame That would be pretty funny though.... show up to a gig with a board that holds 1 pedal bwhaha. The "normal" sized board would then be covered with let's say a 24" by 15" piece of plywood. Sorry for the confusion
  18. If your budget is £100 (I guess about $150 US for me) I would STRONGLY recommend building a board and using the cash left over for a case. If you're handy with some wood, hardware, and tools you can take a half a day and build a super strong, INEXPENSIVE board from supplies from your local hardware store and then invest in a nice carrying case or protective bag. I've built a simple rectangular frame from 1" by 1" or 2" x 1", then put in some support wood bars going across, and then covered the top with a sheet of plywood. I think I maybe spent $30 for the whole thing. Home Depot (or the equivalent for you) should have all the supplies you need. If you definitely want to purchase, how about pedaltrain? The Junior is around $100 US (so less for you) and seems to be around the size you need.
  19. This question can have a forum by itself, it's so in depth. It really depends on how you use compression. I use a compressor basically as a limiter for protection on my speakers. I use a lot of effects that can easily destroy speakers if not careful, so it comes last in the chain. I usually use the compressor built into my Mesa Carbine M9 head, set to only tame the highest peaks. I have experimented with a compressor in the effects loop (dbx and pedal units) with great results. If you're using compression as more of a tone shaping tool, you might want to put it after drive pedals, but before modulation.
  20.
Traditionally I'd of said any of the RC or Jamman range were ideal. I guess it depends what you want from it, but I'm now using a TC Electronics Flashback delay! It's a great delay pedal, but with the bonus of being the most compact and all-round awesome looper. If you want built in beats etc then it's not for you, but I'd you just want sound on sound with later after layer then it's fantastic!
I'm using the flashback as well - great all purpose pedal and packs a LOT of features. The Akai headrush is also a great choice.
  21. I have basically all of Taylor's awesome creations (check my sig for demos and he has always delivered on time. The guy runs a great operation. Ususally it will ship out between 5-8 business days and I've never had to wait longer.
  22.
I pcked up a Boss TU-50 from here and mounted it with a dbx compressor and a GK MB200 is a half-rack case I giot from Ebay. One day I'm going transplant it into a 1/2 rack size aluminium flightcase.
Beat me to it This was my suggestion as well.
  23. Boss has several options for what you want to do. If you can find one, a rack mounted Lexicon Jamman with a simple foot controller would be ace. Had one for many years and loved it.
