  1. Hi, it's just over 4kg/9lbs.
  2. Great, thanks for the info 👍
  3. Very kind, it is now sold 👍
  4. Now £450! Bass Centre Guy Pratt Betsy bass up for grabs. The bass is in excellent condition, comes with the original Bass Centre gig bag and has recently been setup with a new set of Jim Dunlop Nickels. Much has been said about these basses offering exceptional build quality and tones for a shockingly low price, and I can only agree. They really take some beating! This bass plays and sounds great well with a very low action if desired. Here's the link to the Bass Centre page for more info for the uninitiated https://www.basscentre.com/british-bass-masters/bbm-betsy.html Collection from Margate or I can box it up if a courier is required.
  5. Hi, it's a relic job, although it's more convincing than a lot of Fender Custom Shop basses I've played! I assume it's alder due to the prominent grain patterns, but I'm not 100% sure I'm afraid.
  6. It comes with a pair of pliers for the DIY Jaco fan 👍
  7. Fender JB62 Jazz made at the Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan) in 1993 - 1994. I'm offering this bass up at a fair bit below market value as, you may have noticed, it's been interfered with. The body's paintwork has been subjected to a damn good kicking, but luckily the neck and hardware aging all seems to be what you'd expect from a 30 year old instrument with no additional relicing. Everything else is original, the frets are in good shape and the truss rod works as you'd hope. I recently took this to a function gig and everyone in the band absolutely loved the look and sound of it. "That's much nicer than that weird looking bass you had last week." That was a Spector 🤷🏻‍♂️ It sounds great and plays wonderfully with a fairly low action for a vintage spec jazz. It's recently been setup with a new set of Jim Dunlop Nickel 40-100's and is ready to rock. It's light at just 8.5lbs and comes with a newish Tourtech gig bag. I can include a strap if you need one as I seem to have an abundance at the moment. Collection from Margate or I can box it up if you'd like to arrange a courier.
  8. Just two more.. I can include the Neotech Mega strap with the Spector as it maximises the phantom-bass effect!
  9. I can include a nice Greco strap (for that full Japanese experience!) and an old gig bag with this if anyone fancies it?
  10. Just had a go at getting a shot on the scales and in the vertical orientation it varied between 6.2 and 6.4lb... Laying it flat on the scale resulted in a steady 6.2lb.. Insanity.
  11. Sure thing, here it is with a regulation tin of beans for scale.
  12. Now £250 1986 Ibanez Roadstar RB760 made in Japan up for grabs. This is a lovely instrument that has many cross over features from the Musician I sold recently. It has the same wonderful neck profile, body shape, hardware and high build quality, but with a bolt on neck and passive PJ pickups. It also has the coolest strap locks ever created 👌 It's in very good condition for a bass of this vintage but does have some signs of use as you'd expect, and a bit of a ding on the bottom. It plays and sounds great. I was half tempted to update the electronics to something modern but as with the Musician, there's really no need! Note: The bass is 34" scale and the finish is "Gun Metallic". It's very light at around 3.7kg. Collection from Margate or I can box it up if you'd like to arrange a courier.
  13. Pedant alert - that's his Joseph Kaye Faith & Grace bass. He'd sound awesome on anything. Total legend.
  14. Thanks mate, the gear merry-go-round never stops 😁
  15. A lovely 80's made in Japan Ibanez Musican bass complete with a Hiscox flight case. This bass is extremely well built and features neck through construction, 24 fret ebony board, lightweight hardware and active electronics. It plays wonderfully with a recent set of Ernie Ball flats and a med/low action. It sounds great! Bad points are it has some superficial lacquer checking/dings/missing finish etc but nothing out of the ordinary for an instrument that has been used for 40 years or so! Also the bridge pickup seems to have a lower output than the neck for some reason. With the pickup pan pot balanced or favouring the neck you'd never notice it, but mentioning for clarity. I have considered modernising the pickups/preamp but IMO it sounds great as it is. A wonderful instrument.
  16. Just realised I didn't label this as being a Fender! I think I might have a plan for this, so withdrawing if it doesn't go this weekend 👍
  17. Now £1395! Spector Euro RST in the wonderful Sienna finish up for grabs. This bass manages to be both unbelievably light (6.2lb!) while still feeling extremely solid and 'proper'. I've had light basses that feel like toys, this is not one of them! It features Aguilar pickups and an Aguilar preamp for some serious punch. Being Aguilar they also produce a nice vintage tone when required, especially with the neck pickup favoured and a slight treble cut. Both pickups on full with some bass and treble boost will send you to slap heaven. It has been gigged so is showing small signs of use, but it is in fantastic condition overall. It comes in a nice Spector gig bag. Collection from Margate or I can box it up securely if you'd like to arrange collection.
