Photo’s a bit blurry- sorry. And the profanity filter has some weird substitutions

I’ve gigged quite a fair bit this year with the new Northern Soul band that started last year. Last night’s was a fosters poor turnout. Other bar (though all open plan as such), had a few, but we had maybe a handful. A few ventured in for a dance then went back. We were offered the chance before we started to get paid the full amount and pack up, or play- our  choice. We played, as thought, we may as well. Everyone seems to have either been scared witless unnecessarily, or they’re frightened of having their Christmas screwed up with the dreaded ping. I don’t post in the vaccine topic, lest I get into an argument- even though  I’ve been tripled. The venue are really whizzed off- lockdown in all but name, but minus the furlough. Anyway, I digress.

The final pedals to go . Some I thought were dead , but turned out it was a faulty Voodoo lab lead .

I’ve had this for 20 years, and was bought as a graphite necked banger bass- that I’ve used for maybe two gigs that were a possibility of being dodgy ones. 
 

Guy I bought it off, said it was a 70’s jazz body, that he got a Vongunton neck out on, when he was in Germany in the RAF. 
 

Tuners are big ol reverse tune jobbies. 
Got Rob Green at Status to take out the knackered electrics out, and replace with one of his 2 band circuits. He also put on one of his bridges. The humbuckers were, to quote him, ‘super output humbuckers, as the output of them was huge. There’s a buzz on the E string from around frets 12 to 15. So the neck isn’t super straight. This, I knew when I got it, but it was super functional for what I needed it for- banger or emergency back up. The batteries had corroded, when I checked last week, so it will require a new wire threading through to the battery compartment- 18 volt system. It’s quite neck heavy- may be the tuners, neck, or a combination of both. 
 

Served me well, for what it was needed for, but will no longer be needed by me. Scales are showing 3.5 kgs, then 8lbs- with me on and off with and without bass. But I think they must be wrong, as it feels a lot heavier than that- just trying to be honest here. It’s got a wooden FB on it, so someone could get that replaced which may sort out the slight anomaly with the neck. Or you could break it for the parts. 
 

I have absolutely nothing to pack this up with, so please don’t ask- as I’m already waiting in for someone’s courier as I write this. 
 

So cash on pick up please. It’ll come in an old Peavey double gig bag, that I rolled with for years- not the best, but perfectly functional.

I did a handful of function band gigs with a keyboard player like that .

There’s more than a few stories of Norman Watt Roy trashing support band bass rigs, by playing too loud- then just walking away. Yet people still say what a diamond bloke he is. 
 

Also used to regularly do a bike rally, and my mate had the same Eden rig as me. They booked a well known rock bass player as a headline, with his side band. He had no idea, and nearly blew it up.

My mate has just sunk loads into a Bose pro8 set up. Used it last night with the ska band and said it was feeding back all over the shop. I’m playing with him next weekend. I’m not sure they’re man enough for a band. He can still change them as has a trial period through PMT. 

Anyone else used the Bose pro8?

And yes, I’ve just got to lower the action how I like it on the Modulus, and I’ll be sorted. It was up for sale on here last year some time. Did a google search, contacted him and took a while for me to sell stuff to have the funds

Picked up the Modulus today. Had to sell two MusicMans, a combo and loads of pedals. 
 

Bitten the bullet selling the 4’s, to force myself to stick with playing 5 strings - the only way I was going to do it. 
 

Dingwall 5P will do the Northern Soul band. Modulus will do the function band deps, and the Bogart was my ‘Folly’ bass. 

Modulus QW5- just bought this today.

I think that's the nicest one of these that I've seen to date .

From what I can find on the Internet, it looks like it's more of a clean tone amp rather than a dirty ampeg/orange style head so I'm not sure it's ideal for me.
