Yep, I think you said that when I put a post up here last year when I bought it.
It is their 6 string neck, used for a wide 5 spacing I believe- 17mm x 6 = 102 , and 21 x 5 = 105. That’s how my logic works
I’m not sure how cost would pan out, as you’d have to change the nut, bridge and pick ups too- 1

Modulus QW5.
5 string Modulus Quantum for sale. This is the wide string spacing model.
Regular Quantum 5’s are 17mm. They then offered two wide spacings- 19mm and 21/21.5 mm.
This is the 21mm one, and I suspect that there can’t be that many that were made. It’s basically their 6 string neck, with 5 strings. It is a a bit neck heavy, but a wide strap sorts this completely.Bought it off a fellow BC’er last year on here, and I think that he had it from new.
35” scale.
24 fret with 21mm spacing at the bridge.
John East pre-amp. Vol/blend stack , bass/treble stack (pull for bright) , mid/freq stack. Then there’s a passive tone control that pulls for ‘passive’ mode - this works in either passive or active mode. The two knobs nearest the pick ups are 4 way coil taps. Furthest back is rear single coil, next forward is front single coil. Third click is parallel, and last is series. There’s also an LED that I presume is a low battery marker- not sure though.
Norstrand pick ups. Custom ordered by previous owner- had to make specifically for the string spacing.
I play this a lot at home, and I think maybe one gig last year, but can’t be sure. Idea was to have a passive and active bass, and use accordingly. But I find I’m using the passive 5 for all my gigs, and the Function band deps- just covers everything really. So this Modulus isn’t getting used much, even though it’s probably one of the best basses that I’ve ever owned.
Comes with a hard case.
Just found out that my scales are knackered, so I’ll have to update the ad with the weight.
Bought for £2500, and I did a 5 hour round trip to pick up. So looking to sell for the base price I paid for it.
Shipping this is a no brainier no for me, but I can travel to meet up within reason.
Unsure about trades, but hit me with what you’ve got.
Not in a hurry to sell this, and if it doesn’t sell, then I’ll just keep it, as it’s lovely really.
Thanks for looking.

Let me know on how you find them.
In as much as how you find them regarding basses in and out regularly at gigs; and the practicality of using one at a gig as a bass hold-all on stage to replace a couple of stands.
Been toying with the idea for ages. Also less chances of an opportunistic case snatch, when they’re a lot larger than a gig bag.
Just interested in a sort of real world gigging scenario.

Six strings have never been on my radar, but that is absolutely lush

Only the second 5 string Sterling I’ve seen for sale up on here. Probably a combination of rarity, and those that have them, tend to keep them.
Is the neck width much slimmer than a standard Ray 5?

I have a work smartphone (telecom technician), but I just roll with an old Blackberry.
In this situation, without a smartphone, would this type of a gig been closed off to someone like me? -

Hello sir,
Will you post this pedal to Birmingham…?…
Cheers
Leon.
I’ve got it boxed up for someone else at the moment. Waiting for confirmation of arrival then I’ll mark as sold.
If there’s any hiccups, I’ll let you know

Immaculate Korg G5 bass synth pedal.
Still got the Turnkey receipt inside from ‘97. Used on and off by me, but just for the odd bit here and there- never got into saving any patches.
A really nice d school synth pedal, that’s sort of become a bit of a classic.
This is part of the final bits of unused gear, and been under the stairs for 10 years or so.
Price is £110 , including signed for delivery in the UK.

Bump , for some fuzz/phase action . Now down to £100 posted in UK

I’ve had this bass for under 2 years, as a 50th present to myself, but I’m just not using it.
Ordered from Stefan to my specs, but the pickup arrangement wasn’t quite what I specified.
Sold all my gear to buy a few bits I really fancied, but this hasn’t been used, since I got the Dingwall and Modulus- they just suit what I do better.
34” scale
Measuring 18mm at bridge
Measuring 50mm at zero fret
3 band Noll 9v pre-amp. Volume (pull passive), bass, treble, mid/freq stacked, blend, and toggle for LED’s on top edge.
I was told that it could do with a set up- fret dress primarily. The truss rod couldn’t be accessed, so the end cap was drilled larger to enable this, and the cap end isn’t quite flush.
Those few things annoyed me, as this is how it was sent to me. I’m in no hurry to sell, so if it doesn’t get the price, I’ll just stick it back in the cupboard, and get this sorted as and when, then probably start gigging with it on the function band deps. There’s a slight dark discolouration on the back of the neck (shown in the pictures)- could rub out.
My scales are bust, but I think it’s sub 9lbsProbably played by me no more than 20 times at rehearsals.
The sound is awesome, but I prefer my other two basses.
Selling, as I fancy an 5P style bass I’ve seen, or maybe the graphite Stingray 5.
It cost me over 2K, but was less than 2.5K - I can’t remember the exact cost. After £1350 for it- as new apart from the little bits of stuff to do to it.
I’m not geared up for shipping this , so it’ll be a meet up jobbie I reckon.
Thanks for looking, and if you want anymore details, then drop me a message.
Thanks.

No idea why this hasn’t sold.
All the SR5’s have sold- though a couple took a couple of months.
Really fancy another graphite Stingray- just need to get around to putting a bass up for sale.

Like many here, I’m really saddened to hear this news.
I’ve been down there twice, and they’re absolutely lovely people.
Had an old S11 5 string I bought cheap around 25 years ago, locally , and it was the best sounding bass I’d ever heard. Just couldn’t get used to the very narrow string spacing. It was one of the earlier ones, so could of been around 15mm.
A battered S2000 scratched an itch I had- moved on.
Lastly, one of the Jazz basses they used to make a while ago. Just can’t get used to the narrow neck, but it was hands down, up there with the top top jazz basses you can buy. Nothing fancy, yet the fit and finish was perfect.
As Bogart has already been mentioned, I got a yellow one made for for 50th, as should’ve gone with Status- as was my original idea- 5 string Stealth. The Bogart is nowhere near the fit and finish of the Status basses I’ve had- nor my Modulus.
I always thought I’d get down there again one day and order a new one, even though I was aware that Rob wasn’t getting any younger. Similar to Martyn Booth, who I now. He’s now 72 and desperate to retire, yet has a sizeable back log of builds. Hence why he can longer do repair work.
It’s going to be a really sad day, if the brand stops altogether. As playing most of the top brands over the years, Rob’s work is up there with the best.
Wishing him all the best with his health

You’re the only local bloke who’s gone through more bass rigs than me, Roy.
For a smallish rig, that’s a killer

Hi Richardd and thanks for the enquiry, second photo down shows 'hand crafted in Montrose MN USA'.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments, it is indeed a fine amp, I heard a WT400 at a bass bash some time ago and went looking for this straight after
Yes, that was mine that you tried.
I still use it. I paid a grand for mine new, from the old Wapping Bass Centre.
It’s outlived the other amps I’ve owned, as it’s such a lovely little amp.

Only the Burninator left .
Now I'm able to say , that this pedal is as cheap as a tank of petrol .
Price includes signed for post .

If you didn’t live a 4 day walk from me I’d have lent you mine for a week to try out 😂🤣 saying that you could buy my Mesa eight 88
Didn’t know you were thinking of selling that one. How does it compare to the Handbox?

So this is lending it to a non entity,
what if a famous bass player put out a call for a bass in your local area and you happened to see it.
let’s say Victor Wooten, flea (maybe not flea he’d smack the stinky poo out of it 😂🤣) or Paul turner? There’s been loads of stories about people doing support, and main band has Norman Watt Roy on bass, who’s royally blown the support band bassist’s back line and walked off. But it’s alright, cause he’s a diamond bloke ain’t he ……..

Blonde on Sky Arts now- 2010 Glastonbury gig.
To my ears it’s sounds like they’re pretty under rehearsed.
Clem Burke is still really good

Trim pots fully open. Played notes whilst I turned trim pots up and down- nothing.
Like the core sound of it, but I’m not sinking £719 for controls that don’t work.
Thomann said they’re getting back to me

Sending it back - just E Mailed Thomann , on how to do this .
I've done months of research on the Sonic Farm , and was aware that the High and Low EQ switches are subtle , but they appear to do absolutely nothing at all .
Thought it may be too subtle through speakers , but I've just been testing on headphones , and both switches seem to do naff all - and I mean zilch .
Disappointed really .

Trying this new mic pre out with my power amp, as a possible new rig, as a change to my trusty Eden head. Really nice it sounds.
Tried with all basses, and the Dingwall, which is my main bass, and favourite, sounds great.
Bogart, which is my least favourite to play, sounds great through it too.
Modulus, which is all singing and dancing with every possible combination of actives and coil taps, sounds far too polished for my taste. Though I’ve hardly played it since I bought it.
