  1. Not quite the same, but still a Series 6 model.
By chance I clicked on Facebook Marketplace early this morning , and this popped up for £120 - saying in the next town. Clicked on the ad, and it was in my village, about 30 houses down from me.
Messaged there and then, and bought it when I got home.
Last Trace gear I had was a Series 6 AH300 over 20 years ago. Wanted a Series 6 combo for rehearsals.

    Just the job

  2. Eden rig up for sale. £400 for both
WT400 amp, and 410 XLT cab
I bought this rig from the old Wapping Bass Centre in 2000 for 2K.

Had sitting around for the last two years or so. The head I still use for rehearsals, and then take to a gig as a spare. The head is pretty much as new. Cab in really good nick too. Casters are long gone, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got a replacement set in the loft I can dig out.

Gigged this a lot, always looked after it, and it’s never ever let me down.
Cab will make this impractical to courier really, as quite heavy. Pick up, or I could meet up, if it’s not crazy mileage.

Not really looking for trades, as I’m saving up for another bass.
Get a quality rig in great condition, at a fifth of the new cost.

    Thanks for looking.

  3. Thanks for the replies guys.

I decided on The Bass Gallery, due to the 5% lower commission rate, and the larger footfall. Though didn’t pan out exactly…..

Took day off work. We only have the one car, as I have a work van (Openreach), that I drive home, so don’t need a second car. Dropped of the youngest at school then wife to work for 9. Train times from my nearest station were no good, so had to drive. Gave me 90 minutes to Epping (I’m in Norfolk), and an hour’s tube to Camden. The same travel back, gave me an hour to play with- time in shop, and any hold ups etc.

Got to Epping, the car park was absolutely rammed. Since I was last there, they’ve put in permit parking all around too- used to be able to park outside the station car park for free after 9am I seem to remember. Every space in town was either full up, or had an hour’s limit. Sign in station said if it was full, to try Loughton, or some other one. Trouble is, I’d of then been hit but the ULEZ, and then no guarantee of a space. So turned around and came home.

Getting into London is now getting too restrictive. Was last at The Gallery 20 odd years ago, and drove straight in without paying, found a space nearby and walked to the shop. Those days are over now it seems.

So it’s easier to drive to Bass Direct, park right outside and walk in. For 5% extra commission, I think I’d rather do this.
Never know, one of my basses might end up being the first you see one their ‘new website’ he he.

  4. I've done a search , and Commission appears a lot , but mainly in reference to commission bass builds .

I may be thinking of putting up a couple of basses on a commission sale with a shop .

There's realistically only the 3 to use - The Gallery , Bass Direct , and Bass Bros .

Seems that Bass Direct and Bass Bros charge 20% , and The Gallery 15% .

I know there's a bit of conflicting results with people's dealings with Bass Direct , and maybe not so much with the other two .

But was just wondering upon anyone's dealings with commission sales regarding the three shops I've mentioned .

If this has been asked before , then I do apologise .

  5. Just an update on the weight, as my scales were faulty.

With me on and off the scales, it shows the weight to be 10lbs, or 4.5/4.6 kgs.

Trades wise, I quite fancy either another Dingwall Super P5, or PJ5 plus cash.
Also like the look of the Sadowsky M24 that’s up for sale on here, for the same price.

    Thanks

Reverb guy is chancing it, big time. I think a seriously nice Passion or Arpege would be £2K tops

I presume it’s all because he’s stopping production.
Yet I’ve found it strange with Status too- massive price hikes on models that Rob was never going to make again anyway. So regardless of them stopping, the model wouldn’t be made again even if he was still churning them out.

So yep, I agree- chancing it big time

    Beautiful bass

    where about are you based/

I may have a couple of trade options but the spacing may be too wide for my silly small hands.

    Sent you a PM Ziggydolphinboy

  8. Yep, I think you said that when I put a post up here last year when I bought it.

    It is their 6 string neck, used for a wide 5 spacing I believe- 17mm x 6 = 102 , and 21 x 5 = 105. That’s how my logic works
I’m not sure how cost would pan out, as you’d have to change the nut, bridge and pick ups too

  9. Modulus QW5.

5 string Modulus Quantum for sale.

This is the wide string spacing model.
Regular Quantum 5’s are 17mm. They then offered two wide spacings- 19mm and 21/21.5 mm.
This is the 21mm one, and I suspect that there can’t be that many that were made. It’s basically their 6 string neck, with 5 strings. It is a a bit neck heavy, but a wide strap sorts this completely.

Bought it off a fellow BC’er last year on here, and I think that he had it from new.

    35” scale.

24 fret with 21mm spacing at the bridge.

John East pre-amp. Vol/blend stack , bass/treble stack (pull for bright) , mid/freq stack. Then there’s a passive tone control that pulls for ‘passive’ mode - this works in either passive or active mode. The two knobs nearest the pick ups are 4 way coil taps. Furthest back is rear single coil, next forward is front single coil. Third click is parallel, and last is series. There’s also an LED that I presume is a low battery marker- not sure though.
Norstrand pick ups. Custom ordered by previous owner- had to make specifically for the string spacing.

I play this a lot at home, and I think maybe one gig last year, but can’t be sure. Idea was to have a passive and active bass, and use accordingly. But I find I’m using the passive 5 for all my gigs, and the Function band deps- just covers everything really. So this Modulus isn’t getting used much, even though it’s probably one of the best basses that I’ve ever owned.

    Comes with a hard case.
Just found out that my scales are knackered, so I’ll have to update the ad with the weight.

Bought for £2500, and I did a 5 hour round trip to pick up. So looking to sell for the base price I paid for it.
Shipping this is a no brainier no for me, but I can travel to meet up within reason.

Unsure about trades, but hit me with what you’ve got.

Not in a hurry to sell this, and if it doesn’t sell, then I’ll just keep it, as it’s lovely really.

    Thanks for looking.

  10. Let me know on how you find them.

In as much as how you find them regarding basses in and out regularly at gigs; and the practicality of using one at a gig as a bass hold-all on stage to replace a couple of stands.

Been toying with the idea for ages. Also less chances of an opportunistic case snatch, when they’re a lot larger than a gig bag.

Just interested in a sort of real world gigging scenario.
