Well you should have played it at the East Anglian bash a few months ago , though I did hog it a bit :)
Which one did you try of Dave's , his older brown one or the new blue ? They're both great , aren't they .

Couldn't make it , but sounded great . Hopefully be at the next local one .

    Paul .

  2.
Have to say that I was annoyed by the reference/picture of the "Aria Pro II".

The blurb referred to John Taylor and Cliff Burton as noted players - fine. But both these guys played an Aria Pro II SB and this was not the bass pictured. This information is so well-known in the bass domain that it just smacks of plain laziness to not have it presented fully and correctly.

    Rant over.
It certainly makes you wonder if they have a clue , doesn't it .
That and the Precision being modelled on the Strat :)

  3.
Queens of the Stone age and Chris Connell's offering (2005)...??? the term garage band was invented for them as they should still be locked in the garage..on the basis of their TV performance..and never let out :)
Perhaps with the engine running ? :)

  4.
I hit 40 this year.... and the daughters will ALWAYS be more interesting than their Mums... :)
42 this year , and I think you're wrong there mate . :)

  5.
Its a Series 1 or a later model Energy.
Yeah , I think it's one of the later Series 1's that were wooden .
The Energy's , I think had the more rounded horns - much the same as the Stealth1 .

As stated , Statii Form is the place .

  6. Look at the SFX web page .
I bought the Micro Fuzz and it's great . Just added a Micro EQ after it , and it just enhances it even more .
Also Max does the Micro Distortion . That's my next purchase .
Great guy to deal with , home grown pedals and top notch quality - says it all .

  7.
Can the pedal in the loop only be used when the GR is switched on, or can it be turned on any time?
That's what I'd like to know also . As I know the GR2 can , but Phil , is this the GR2 or a GR transitional . Cause the GR2's at Bass Direct have GR2 written on them , the last knob to the right is different , and they have a wet/dry blend .

  8.
I reckon slap bass is making a comeback. MK is polishing his thumb, as we speak.
After watching that clip , it's not his thumb he'll be polishing .

  9.
Mark,

Ref your comment that Max doesn't make a Chorus pedal - he does, or has done. It's not a production pedal but I know he'd make one up again as I enquired myself last year. Hell, if we both get a request in, he might bring it into his product list!:

    All the best,

    Mark
I've asked him a couple of times about a Micro Chorus .

He's developing one as we speak I think .

This will probably be my third order from him when it hits the page .

  10. I know what you mean , I always say 'bass' , but the bottom line is - it is a guitar (a bass guitar) .

By just saying bass , people may think , "bass what ? Bass clarinet , Sax , Guitar , drum ?"

I don't give it a thought now and the tool analagy is spot on .

We shouldn't get too precious about a word .

  11. First gig with the Great Gramma pad , and it made a big difference .
Wooden stage that made some notes sound quite choice (played here a few times before) , but with the cab on the pad it was all cookin' .
Must say I was a bit sceptical at first when I bought it sight unseen having never tried one before , but I'm doing every gig with this from now on - great bit of kit .
Good gig also - always a bonus .

  12.
First time I've been on my PC since Sunday! Thanks to everyone for a great day.

Dave.C - Thanks again for the flats. I'll let you know as soon as I've fitted them.
Yeah that was a really nice gesture .

There's a good comunity on here , and the Bashes just highlight that even more .

  13.
Hi

I'm looking at buying an old Aphex Aural Exciter Type C but on eBay there's currently a Type B up for sale so I was thinking of getting that instead. To me, it looks like it does the same thing but I was wondering if anyone knows of any difference between the 2 models

    Cheers
    Stevie
Might be wrong here , but didn't one have the "big bottom" setting , and the other one not ?

  14.
Now have GAS for an Eden WT400 Traveler and an Epifani 4x10 cab (talking myself into believing I can cope with the bulk), that combination is just nice, warm and versatile. Spot on.

    T
Yeah sorry about that , it's all my fault :) It is a good combination , and the 410 is one of the lightest around .

Just a thanks for Rik for organising it all - though I'm glad no one came into the toilets whilst I was handing over that money to you ... I mean , I know we're all brothers and all , but someone might have got the wrong idea :D

Sorry I didn't get to speak to everyone there , and to those that I did , I can safely say that I've forgotten your names already - memory like a sieve . Name tags and monikers next time I think .

Spent some quality time with some great people , what more can you ask for . Though I'd have liked to stay longer , but it's the only day off in the week that I have free , so had to make a bit of a concession to wife and kids .

Mainly only tried Dave's Vigier , and got sort of swept up in it a bit . Other nice basses there expensive and cheap , but I'm blinded by graphite through and through . V bass was good fun .

Always a pleasure to catch up with His Royal Highness - The Dood of Hethersett , and playing through His rig (probably be different at the next bash  ) . It's nice that a TV star can still mix it with the general public :) . Good to see ya mate .

All in all a good day , look forward to the next one .
