1. Do you have room for a bedroom noodler? I would really like to try and get down to this if i can sort out some childcare.
 2. Met Simon today to pick up the two basses i was buying from him. A great guy to deal with, very punctual and great communications. Hopefully have a play around with the acoustic later if i can ever bring myself to put the five-string down
 3.
I've tried most flatwounds and I can't recall coming across any gold ones. Not what you're looking for I know but Pyramid Black Nylon Flats have gold coloured silk wraps.
Just had a look at the Pyramid range, are the Gold's not, er, gold?
 4.
http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/44...s_medium_scale_ Enjoy.....
Thanks for the link dude, but those are roundwound.
 5. Hi, does anybody know of a gold coloured flatwound string.
 6. Bought a Mono strap from Eude, a great guy to deal with and superquick with delivery. Cheers mate.

 8. Had a little play on one last weekend, and although it's quite fun, i don't think i'll be rushing out to buy one at that price. Shame really as my kid will be learning uke at school in a couple of years and i thought it might be cool to take up the bass uke at the same time.
 9. Never ever wanted to learn slap....until now. That rocked big time. I must admit though, i was secretly hoping you were going to get your hat string caught under the top horn resulting in some "You've Been Framed" style carnage
 10.
Bump for edit after sale fell through.
Don't suppose you ever get down towards Somerset do you? Could be interested in both.
 11. All sorted now guys, thanks for all the advice.
 12.
Gotoh's are they? I've only ever had that happen once before and it was a set of Gotoh resolites I was installing
Indeed they are.
 13.
+1 Then superglue the sheared head back into it's hole.
Great minds think alike
 14.
Good quality pair of pliers with nicely squared sides, a very steady hand, and some patience while you unscrew it sideways gripping the remaining stump. If that fails, you will need a dremel with a small metal bit and an *extremely* steady hand to drill it out.
Trouble is it's sheared off inside the hole, so nothing to grip. Thanks for the reply though.
 15.
Drill your other pilot holes bigger/ deeper. 3 screws will work fine. Getting it out will be a huge pain, involving drilling a little hole either side and drip[ping it with end cutters and rotating till it is out enough to grip with something more substantial.
Thanks Mr F, wasn't sure if three holes would be sufficient to hold it in place.
 16. Just tried to replace the machine heads on my P project, marked up the holes, drilled the first four pilot holes, tried to screw in the first screw, got to within about two turns of being finished when the screw just sheared off. I'm now left with the threaded part of the screw stuck in the hole. Any ideas what to do?
 17.
Perhaps he was a guitarist standing in for the proper bass player
20.
How bout switching to an electro acoustic if the pick ups are going to be a problem?
That was going to be my plan if all else failed, just not very "metal", is it?
 21.
Yea just be careful with cabs, powerful magnetic fields there. Get someone else to lift em.
Every cloud....

 23.
Toothpicks and superglue. Works a treat.
Sounds easy, guessing that you cut the toothpick to size, coat it in superglue then insert into the hole.
 24. Just found a thread on an ICD support group forum about this, and the general concensus seems to be that as long as the pick-ups are located at a distance of at least six inches from the device, there shouldn't be any problems, although i will double check with the doc before playing again.
