1. I imagine there's a few BCers watching this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wal-Bass-/251678331292
2. Hey BobP, the attachments aren't linking
3. keep em coming guys I have a EHX Pog, for my fretted stuff - but can't really get on with it altho it tracks really well. May give a try.
4. Hi all, I'm sure there's a thread lurking somewhere that's covered this, but needle in a haystack methinks. So a simple question, what do people use when playing fretless? I'm coming to the conclusion it's probably a sound that's best left natural, BUT at a push, perhaps a touch of chorus, and a touch of reverb?? Any thoughts?
5. Hi mate, sorry, looking for a sale
6. Try this https://www.flickr.com you can upload pics as an album or just put up one for now??
7. This is a great combo, no longer made I believe?? Gritty, throaty, smooth, clean - for a great GK sound. I got it a few months back, and it has been used only for rehearsal, but I've no reason to think it can't cut it for gigging. Powerhouse sounds, great bi-amp output for both tweeter and woofer, contour and presence filters, Treb/HiMid/LoMid/Bass eq. It has that nice tilt back option to better hear your chops It's a really sturdy piece of kit, and I'm only moving it on as I'm debating getting something else. Generally in good condition I reckon. I paid £250 for it, so asking what I paid for it. Could possibly do delivery, at buyer's cost, by courier: may be difficult as it's kinda heavy, altho average heavy I'd say, but happy to work it out if needs be. OR, happy to meet within reasonable distance for petrol money PICS HERE https://www.flickr.c...57648308450136/
8. Well that was swift!! For my part BM75, this is the first time I've seen the ad, so I'm sure there's traffic gonna come across this. Out of interest, Telebasses are sometimes described as muddy, because of the Humbucker at the neck I guess, as this differs, what sort of sound would you say this produces? Also, what is its weight?
9. What was the issue with this - there seems to be some missing posts?? Tempted ...
10. Go on then - how heavy is this beast? I have a fretless Thunder 1A, and before that I once had a fretted 1A, so I know these basses are quality. Hmm, could be tempted. What practical function does the XLR serve? I'm a luddite with no grasp of such subtleties!
11. Sure, agreed. It can only BE opinion. I have owned and played early 1980 Ibanez Blazer P's, made in Japan, and mid 90's CIJ Fender Ps, also made in Japan of course, a 2008 USA Am Standard, and now have a 63 P US made, and I'd say there is little to choose - except in price!! All good quality, defined only by a badge of origin. Ok, the '63 does sound unlike the others
12. Although of course Japanese models, historically, either MIJ or CIJ, are arguably as good if not better players than their US counterparts ???
13. Best wishes Howard - made me a cracking tort P guard (no pics as of yet, sorry)
14. Are you doing enough to whip up the hoardes? I ask only because my son saw the Chilli Peppers at IOW Festival last weekend and apparently Flea entered the stage, walking on his hands. Food for thought.
15. Great gig at The Water Rats on Grays Inn Road, near Kings Cross. My band Those Amongst Us Are Wolves played with AK/DK and Codes In The Clouds - a post rock/electronica night of spectacular music. Great crowd - BRILLIANT promoters Chris and Mike operating under the Twitter name @GoodsoulPromo. If you're looking for promoters who don't want you to bring all your mates or sell tickets up front and still manage to draw a great crowd, then get in touch with these guys. Paid, as promised, a crate of beers and water for the bands, plus I was asked by the guys if I needed a towel for the gig It WAS hot. A pleasure to play.
16. Yup, read it - not so good. Ta.
Check Ovnilabs review about the Soul Preacher: http://www.ovnilab.c...oulpreach.shtml Cheers
