  1. That looks gorgeous! Makes me consider selling my ray 35 - love my 55-01, best bass ive ever owned
  2. Dunno why Im considering trading, its a great cab, guess im after just summit a bit different. Can anyone recommened a decent 4ohm 212 that would be worthy to replace it?
  3. I use the head with a barefaced compact - even though the cabs 8ohm, it can be stupidly loud! Used it at 2000 capacity venues and never had it past 7! The only thing I feel its missing is a better tuner and a pedalboard to switch between presets. That being said, I gt the head second hand at 250 quid and I feel the head is better than my eden wt800, which retails at over a grand!

  5. Heres my current rig - saying the its one of tc's cheaper head units, its solid and stupidly loud. Could so with another compact for the bigger gigs, but fairly happy with my current setup. 5 stringer exclusive now

  7. It must obviously be the way im playin it, started playing fingerstyle right down near the bridge, as opposed to playing near the bridge pickup on the lakland. Also, the gigs ive used the ray in havent been regular gigs - theyve been either outdoor gigs or weird rooms, so not really a fair test. Playing at the guide inn in keighley saturday, so should be a better test.
  8. No its more the other guitarist, he's just changed from a marshall a cab to a b cab which supposedly has nore bottom end...might tell him to roll off some bass, could be the issue
  9. Out front - im usually the one with the long lead checking the mix lol on stage its quite good. In all fairness, im probably trying to make it sound like my lakland, insteadof a ray. Tbf, the guitarist has just changed his setup, so its getting used to that as well. Will let u knw hw today goes!
  10. Cheers for the advice guys! Gt a outdoor show tomorrow so will play around a bit more and let u know hw it goes
  11. Its a 3 band eq, with a selector changing it from series to parallel.
  12. Just invested in a sterling ray 35 - really nice bass, plays well, and has a great stingray sound. Im currently in a classic rock tribute band (thin lizzy, whitesnake, gnr, bon jovi etc), with 2 guitarists, one who swaps to keyboards for some songs. Im currently getting a little lossed in the mix at the moment. My othet bass is a lakland 55 - 01, which is great. I gt the sterling as a backup, just trying to get a workable sound with it before I go bk to the lakland. Has anyone gt any advice for eq settings, bass and anp wise? My current rig is a bh500 head and a compact. Usually playing pubs and clubs, to some biker rallys. Usually a little PA support for pub gigs. Cheers Joe
  13. I can confirm that these cabs can keep up with an entire band. I used to have 2 and dropped down to just one, loudest ive had it was for a 2000 capacity biker rally, had amp at 7 and the compact sung! You'll never look back after getting one Best of luck with the sale!
  14. thats gorgeous! a little out of my price range, but have a free bump on me

  16. After getting on really well with my 55-01, I'm getting rid of my Spector and going all Lakland - the necks are awesome, it feels comfy to play, and the sound is great! Now I'm after a second bass that will complement the sound. I play in 3 bands, a rock covers band, a glam rock tribute, and a function band that mixes elements of the other 2, as well as some pop songs. I've looked at the 55-02, but I'm not a big fan of the H/S config. Any one got any suggestions? Like I said, would like to go all Lakland
  17. Bugger....just need my monitors to sell and I'd be all over that compact.......
