1. Yeah well I expected that much! Just had to respray the wheel arches on transit van, took a while to make the arches look the same shade as the rest of the van. I'm planning to do the paint job over the Xmas break from uni when I'm back at my grandfolks. Being the well worked people that they are, they've got themselves a massive garage to do DIY in, so the right environment for it. Aye I saw the mock-up of what your fenderbird will look like, colour looks gorgeous. Keep me posted

4. Sound mint dude Keep us posted on the outcome!
5. Been contemplating whether or not to invest in a new 'old' bass to replace my MIM as my main gigging bass. After searching around basschat & ebay for about a month, it hit me that for the price I'm looking at spending, it'd just be as easy to build my own! So today, while I should of been doing dissertation work for university (any excuse not to do it!), I've been researching various parts and finishes that would interest me. I've always been a fan of the block inlay. There's something about it that just screams 'IMMENSE!' to me . I'm currently gigging in a blues-rock covers band called 'Castles Made Of Sand' (after the hendrix experience song), so after that vintage 60's sound. Obviously alot of the sound came from Noel's Sunn amps and Billys superlead. This is a prime example of what I'm looking to get at the end of the project. Time scale-wise I'll be looking to hopefully finish this by February, with having the majority of work done over the xmas period. Here's my current idea's for parts:- Body - 3 tone sunburst finish alder body Neck - Maple Neck, relic finish, block inlays - maybe a mighty mite, or blackpoole relic series? Pickups - Wizard 64's Electronics - vintage electronics plate Bridge - Badass II (more sustain) Scratchplate - Fender '62 Jazz Scratchplate 4 ply tortoise shell Winders - Hipshot machine heads I'm not sure whether to buy a pre-finished body or to attempt to sunburst a plain one myself? It'd probably be more fun doing one myself but not sure whether my spraying skills are upto scratch! Leave us some feedback to what you think, and I'll keep you guys updated! Joe
6. I have a similar model cab, though mines a 70's model. Amazing cabinets, and thats a bargain of a price!
7. Sorry they were taken on my iphone. It comes with a whammy bar, I just had it out when I played this
8. Im considering selling my ibanez SAS32EX. I havent had it long, the main reason I bought it was for a studio recording, and for 2 live gigs. I bought it brand new from Music Room for £389 in february, in which I recorded in April, then gigged in June. Since then, its been sitting in its case in my bedroom. I'm considering investing in a 5-string (more than likely a spector) so a trade for rebop 5-er will deffo be considered. Looking for £300 + courier. Will come with a padded ritter case Pictures will go up 2moro as its quite late!
9. Im trying to advance as a player, and have recently listening to funk such as jamiroquai and james brown. I know my basic scales and whatever, and can play basic slap bass, but I wondering how I should go about advancing in that style? Is there any chord structures of finger techniques you guys can recommend? Or shall I just practice songs by funk artists? Joe
10. I've got this on the ebay, so all the details are on there http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...#ht_1658wt_1167

13. I bought this off ebay a couple of weeks ago while looking for a badass bridge. Literally 10 minutes after paying for this, I got a message off a BC member (Lemuel Beam) offering me a brand new Badass!!! So I'm afraid this Schaller never got to go on my bass... Its currently sat at my drummers house, so I shall have some better pics tonight, but heres the website link for it http://schaller-guitarparts.de:80/hp14782/...231e102574X2fb3 I'm after £25 including postage, basically just to recoup costs.
14. After purchasing my vintage 8x10, a big dent was left in my student overdraft, so need to depart from some gear for the new study year! I've got a SVT-15 1x15 cab for sale. Cosmetically, its in good condition. Its what you expect from a ampeg cab. I may as well list the bad points (very few and minor) - One of the castors, when the cab is lifted up, dangles down and doesnt sit flush like the rest of them. Probably a loose fitting. It was like that when I purchased it. When being pushed its fine, acts as normal. Not the biggest of problems by a long shot. And thats it! Now heres the tech spec:- LF Drivers: 1 x 15” Cast Voice Coil: 2.5” Magnet Weight (each): 80 oz RMS Power Handling: 200-Watts Frequency Response (-3dB): 50Hz-3kHz Usable Low Frequency (-10dB): 33Hz Nominal Impedance: 8-Ohms Sensitivity: 98dB Maximum SPL: 123dB Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 24 x 22 x 16 Weight: 72 Pounds Connections - 2 x 1/4 inch jack I'm looking around £230 inc courier ono. I'm quite open to offers to just PM me I'll have pictures tomorrow after I pick the cab up from drummers after my gig tonight! Oh and if any of you are in York tonight, I am playing at The Roman Bath. I'm in a blues rock band called Castles Made Of Sand, and as you can probs tell from the name, we play Hendrix, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan etc
15.
Very nice cab, antones is a nice little shop. I usually like to visit repercussion which is next door and sometimes i'll have a look in there too. I've always found the staff very helpful and friendly.
Aye the guys in there were so helpful, they even fitted a badass onto my mexican jazz and restrung it for free while I waited which was nice of them.
16. I bought this yesterday from Antones in Hull. I saw it about a year ago, but it wasn't for sale. It belonged to the owner of the shop, and was using it regularly. I saw it again a couple of months ago, but this time it was up for sale. I decided to give it a blast, and it sounded beautiful Unfortunately, at that point, I'd just finished my second year at Uni, and the money situation wasn't looking brilliant :/. Fast forward to yesterday....I'd been paid a week ago, and had a little bit of spare cash....After failing to haggle the owner down, I bought it for £499...still a brilliant price for a 810 me thinks, especially one of that age!
