  1. Looking for someone who could make a small run (probably 12 at most) of approx. 6"x1.5" single sided PCBs without costing the earth. Any recommendations? Local to Bristol/Wiltshire would be nice, but not mandatory.

Would have been quick, but I missed the Chinese New Year deadline. I'm going to order some more pcbs from them soon as my design has evolved.

Cheers Phill. It’s part of an ever growing system... I built a new module yesterday, that’s not in this photo, and I have another 6 to build...3CC09450-F1F4-4F44-8D23-E8E7D04CCF2C.thumb.jpeg.b2f8fc65acaeb235c38adb44a6f8f850.jpeg

  4. Sliced the median nerve in my middle finger over Christmas.  Totally numb down one side.  Feels weird :(

I sliced through the end of my right thumb, many years ago. Once the actual wound had healed I had no feeling in the pad at all. For years I couldn't pick up eggs with my right hand, I'd either drop them or squash them. Even now, at least 10 years later, I have a line about 1mm wide, and 20mm long, where there's no feeling. It's a weird sensation picking things up, everything has a bit missing...

  5. Just walked by my Aria Pro II SB Black n Gold. It put a big grin on my face.
    That's all... thanks.

  6. Having a week away in Dorset. Place says it has free wifi. Except 4 of the 5 hubs you can connect to don't have an internet connection.

So everyone is using the one that works and it's slower than 1990s dial up...

This morning I remembered I can use the BT Open wifi side of the hubs. Whilst not broadband speeds it's still 9 times faster than using the other side...

Burns-bass I am enjoying the holiday, but after walking 6-7 miles walking along beaches, stooped over, and occasionally bashing rocks, fossil hunting with 2 kids in tow. I was hoping to relax watching some films on Netflix.

  8. Revisiting the Boss ODB-3......I mean it's crappy stock, but have ordered the Monte Allums Tri-Gain Mod kit to aid with that issue haha.
It's Boss, so features and functions are excellent, but hopefully this mod will make it more than useable sound wise!

I modded my ODB-3 a few years back with the Wampler mods; switch to choose clipping diodes and switch to select input caps. I found that switching to different diodes made the overdrive signal separate from the clean. So when blending it sounded like two signals overlaid.

Don't worry guys. The country will be awash with new manufacturers of everything we need... If they can afford the raw materials...

  13. After over 30 years using heavy gauge strings (110-50, and more recently 120-50 balanced tension), I got a set of 100-40 today to put on my SB BnG. The bass feels even nicer to play now.

My Steve Harris P had Steve Harris Rotos on for a long time. 110/95/75/50, they took some pounding...

I've used 105-45 occasionally, when I've needed strings in a hurry and had to go into a local shop to buy them. To me they didn't feel too different to 110 sets.

I was considering 95-35 set. But Amazon didn't have any. Not sure I'll use the 100-40s on either of the Precisions, as those basses provoke me into playing a lot harder than the SB does.

Next tour they can ditch Pinch and get Scabies back.

Not that will ever happen as I doubt Pinch would allow it.
