I nearly suggested that to you in another topic recently.  Something you said made me think that you might go for a classic one.  I was offered one for £1300 year before last but I am neither wealthy nor talented enough to justify such a purchase.  It would be too self indulgent.

Go for it.  It might bring out the Bernard in you.

I highly recommend tracking down a USA ebmm sub. Made on the same assembly line as the classic, so quality built. Exactly the same electrics and pu as they put in the classic. Quality hardware. 

Yeah horrid but durable finish and cheaper woods used. But very nice basses.
