  1. LAST CHANCE before I change my mind and withdraw it... £1,375 SHIPPED within mainland UK (excl some remote postcodes) Payment by bank transfer, please.
  2. You're right Clarky. That is consistent with that bridge, non-varnished neck, no skunk stripe... Nice piece of kit anyway and good price.
  3. Absolutely beautiful! I have 2 x 1989 (of which one in a different location), and - apart from different saddles introduced in 1989 - they are the same as yours. Unusual additional strap pins there (used as a lefty?). GLWTS
  4. Two audio samples (copy and paste in your browser): slap: www.fclefbasses.com/mod-FileShare-download-file_id-25.html fingerstyle: www.fclefbasses.com/mod-FileShare-download-file_id-47.html
  5. Thanks. It really sounds and looks spectacular, but at the moment I cannot really play it as I would like.
  6. Gee.. I can't believe it... Really wish you can be reunited with your items soon
  7. Following a niggling problem with my left arm that will take a long time to heal, I am selling my most valuable basses, this one and an Fclef, no point in keeping them laying there untouched. Immaculate 2017 SADOWSKY METROLINE (formerly known only as "Metro") MV4 in "AS NEW" condition, with its original Sadowsky rectangular semi-hard case (not the floppier teardrop portabag), also mint. Only a few months old, this is the latest variation, including the new "Metroline" headstock logo, NYC-style strings tree and recessed input jack plate. Ash / maple combo in glossy black and chrome hardware, nice and shiny. 8.8lbs / 4.0kg hence on the lighter side for a Metro. Usual Sadowsky configuration: hum-cancelling Sadowsky pickups in '60s position and 2-eq Sadowsky preamp with VTC (tone control) working in active and passive. Brand new set of Sadowsky Blue Label stainless steel 45-105 (Sadowsky's stock strings) just put on for the sale and then untouched. Super-clean and pristine. Only during a close-up inspection for the sale I've found a tiny (approx. 2mm) very superficial shallow dink I had never noticed before, which - being black - is a bummer to photograph and is usually visible only if you look for it with the light at an angle. Currently set with a very straight neck and low action. Needless to say, no wear whatsoever and it sounds spectcular as you would expect. Price is £1,799 1,649 plus shipping, paid with a bank transfer, please. That makes AT LEAST 800 quid less than an identical new one (priced at £2,500 at sadowsky UK dealers) and for all aspects this really IS as new, and a 6 months wait avoided, of course. OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. I will only post through the UPS website, as most couriers and all the agents like Interparcel do not insure musical instruments above £1,000 (and in order to fulfil UPS requirements, it may be shipped without battery, please have your 9V ready). That makes is £50 for a mainland UK tracked and insured shipment (excl. some remote postcodes and some islands): because of the value of the instrument and therefore the insurance, the real shipment cost is over £70, but I will absorb the difference in order to remain somewhat competitive. Coming from a smoke, pet and child-free home (but not booze-free... LOL). Sorry, no trades. BassChatters with an established history and reputation / feedback on the forum but living outside the UK (although in EU) may contact me, otherwise this is strictly a UK sale. The bass will also be soon on eBay in order to appeal to the largest possible audience. You can find my feedback at the bottom of the page. Please be confident the bass is absolutely, exactly as described, no surprises. Thanks for looking. Claz

  9. Thanks Markus. It's really uber-clean and sounds brilliant, but it's surplus to requirements.
  10. Hi folks I have bought this spectacular specimen from PlayBass only a couple of months ago, but I have decided to have a general clear-out / culling of the herd, reflecting the limited time I currently have for playing. Since then I have played it only really a handful of time in the bedroom, in my smoke / child / pet - free house (but not booze - free... oh, well... LOL). The bass is superb and really versatile, and - apart from a 0.5-0.7cm superficial blemish (a scratch not through the finish) hidden behind the upper horn - it's soooo clean and pristine, really immaculate, with still the plastic on the pickguard, on the battery cover and the instructions for the controls. Includes the newer style, sturdy Fender original hardshell case (although I have misplaced bits of the case candy, apart from what you see in the pics, sorry). Weight is 9lbs 50z / 4.25 kg. Really beautiful lacquered slim neck, with pearloid effect black blocks and black binding. Shiny, piano black alder body. This is almost HALF a new Elite. Payment through a bank transfer like I usually do here on BC, please. No trades, sorry. BassChatters with an established history and reputation / feedback on the forum but living outside the UK (although in EU) may contact me, otherwise this is strictly a UK sale. 11. Following a niggling problem with my left arm that will take a long time to heal, I am thinning the herd, no point in keeping them laying there untouched. For those of you who are not familiar with Fclef, they are an American boutique whose ties with Fodera go back a number of years (for instance, Fodera NYC line has been produced for some time by the same people as Fclef's, and also as dealers). They make tremendous, high-end basses, and are well established in the USA, although still less this side of the Pond. Expect to pay Sadowsky NYC prices, starting around 4,000 USD for a 4-string like this one, 20% VAT, 4% import duty, plus shipping to the UK.... for a total equivalent to more than £3,750!! To get an idea of their quality, the guy in the following link paid 5,200 USD for a new 5-stringer with a couple of options in 2013, and he had a discount too!! https://www.talkbass...guitar.1255640/ On Youtube you can see several videos of Tamas Barabas (Tomika here on BassChat), Marcus Miller, Federico Malaman and others playing Fclef basses. Or listen to the extensive audio library at the website: http://www.fclefbasses.com/mod-FileShare-category_display-cat_id-1.html What we have for sale here is a Jazz FCLEF 4 CUSTOM SERIES in Black nitro, vintage neck with white binding and pearloid blocks, designed to look and sound as a '70s Fender Jazz clone when in passive mode, and as a slightly more modern take when active. Full size ash body, slim maple neck, Seymour Duncan Custom Vintage single coils in '70s position, 18V Fodera / Mike Pope 2-EQ preamp (Michael Pope is the guy behind all Fodera preamps: this is a very transparent piece of kit, it adds a touch of hi-fi without changing much the tone of the bass: volume / tone control working both in active and passive, pan, treble cut/boost, bass cut/boost; gain trimmer in the electronics cavity). Pickup bell cover included (only placed on top in the pictures as I have misplaced the screws... sorry). Set with a very straight neck and low action. Standard 19mm strings spacing adjustable by 0.5mm. 4.4kg / 10lbs. Comes in a black tolex case (Warwick, I believe) with black velour interior, with keys, in good shape and in full working order (handle, latches, hinges....). The bass is 100% original and with very light signs commensurate with normal use: a little tarnish on the bridge pickup polepieces and some patina on the tuning keys, the customary scuffs on the headstock, a very little knock through the finish the size of a nail's head on the bottom edge of the body, and in general some grazing/swirls/light scratches really only visible at an angle (on the pickguard and here and there on or behind the body, as a light buckle rash), although all superficial and nothing affecting in any way the sound or the playability. Overall purely minor cosmetic factors to be expected on an instrument that is not new anymore and has seen light use, not abuse. Excellent neck, fingerboard and frets. Price is £1,700 1,375 SHIPPED to mainland UK (excl. some remote postcodes), paid with a bank transfer like I usually do here on BC, please.
