2. Right I'm going to try the above tonight. If I find that a valve or two has gone, do I just need to replace those? I am actually really hoping this is what's causing it. Is there any visable way of checking the valves? or is it just a case of seeing if they make rattling noises when tapped? Cheers guys for all the help Dave
3. When i played a festival up here a few years back I only needed my bass and pedals. Full backline provided. Minus cyms and snare of course. DEFO contact the organizers!

10. I'm selling my Boss Slicer pedal. It's really fun to use, makes some odd noises and is handy for dance music. Here is what boss say: Inject a shot of high-octane fuel into your music with the SL-20 Slicer. Instantly transform a guitar, bass, keyboard, or vocal into a pulsating groove instrument. Choose from 50 onboard Slice patterns or experiment with the SL-20’s innovative Harmonic Slicer feature, which generates percussive melodies, Loop Record, and unique 3D Panning. Instant groove and percussive-melody generator 50 Slice patterns onboard, with adjustable attack and duration, including Harmonic Slice Tap Tempo via onboard pedal switch; internal and MIDI sync Sound characteristics such as attack, duration, effect level, and direct level are controllable via external Expression pedal (sold separately) Variety of output modes, including the unique 3D Panning for spacious sliced FX I'm getting rid because I used it for one song, for one part. 11. I think I just got lost... Will the above tubes just be able to put in the head? I don't have a manual or owt. Dave
12. Not meaning to Highjack... But.. Will the 400+ still work with valves removed (at a lower volume or worse tone)? Is it easy enough to revalve yourself or better getting a tech to do it?
13. Mines went nuts when pushed hard. Valves = nom nom nom I should also add that I love dirty tones
14.
No joke mate... It's just my crappy English that makes it looks confusing. Sorry about that .
Nah - nothing about the language Thanks alot for the help
15.
Hmm... As far as I know, there's no harm of touching the glass. Will check that later with a friend of mine, who's a valve maniac. Be careful when pulling out, because they're usually fit tight in the socket. Don't try to pull it straight up, better combine pulling with gentle left-right moves, and watch not to bump the valve into another one or an edge when it finally comes out.
Theres a joke in there somewhere... Sorry. Cheers for the help - I'll give this ago tonight! Fingers crossed!
16. Cheers for this - I'll give it a go tonight. Is there anything i should lookout for when touching the valves? Eg are they like car lights - you're not meant to touch the glass part?
17. Still buzzing loudly Got really hopefull there, it was on 6. Cheers anyway
18. Based in aberdeen, scotland. Its 24x24x15 (inches) and 63lbs
19. Hey dude, Afraid i have enough basses! Im up for offers though
20.
by poweramp, are we talking my head? thats whats confusing me. RBI --> HEAD --> CAB is that correct?
You can run it that way yeah - But poweramps are stuff with no tonal EQ and such (eg they give you the volume) You could get an RBI and try it going into the ashdown (eg like you'd do with a pedalboard) I used to use a sansamp BDDI into my Ashdown Mag to give it a sound the ashdown just couldnt get on its own. But on the other side of the coin the sansamp couldnt get the tone on its own neither. I used both EQs to get the tone i wanted. Also the sansamp was handy for dialling in a bit of grit just to dirty the tone up a bit! Ask your mate if you can test his
21.
Would it basically render my head obsolete though? would i need to bother changing any settings on my head if the RBI is doing all this? technically could i just put RBI straight into cab? Whats the difference between a cab and a poweramp? I'm a bit new to the whole head/cab stuff too, any help is appreciated!
You would need to run the RBI into the poweramp - the poweramp is just a basic amplifier. I think it provides no tone shaping at all. I could be wrong though - this is just how i've always taken it. The cab is your speakers.
22. Hey folks, Selling my Hartke 115XL bass cab. I bought it with the plan of using it with my Ampeg 610 - just to get the insane low rumble from my Deep Impact. But i've used it twice since buying it. It was handy when I had my own practice space (gear setup all the time!) but now i don't - so the cab has sat in my garage not being used. It sounded really good the times I used it. Looking for £100 i think. I'd prefer this to be picked up - or I can provide the details for courier - just let me know. Dave EDIT:- Here is what the blurb says. http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...6&brandID=3
23. Someone on here is selling a Firebass head for about £150 i think.
