Last shout guys and gals , I am travelling back from holiday today, so I’ll do the vote thread this evening , Mrs Lurks wanted a few more days but I had to remind her that 14000 Basschat members were desperate to cast their votes!

That’s the thing isn’t it , a lovely, rounded, beautiful in tune voice will carry a tune on its own , I never judge a challenge entry on the singing , well , I couldn’t really could I 😂

I tell you , its bloody scary if this is what inspires you when you see a picture of your local's toilet door but when I put it like that , whatever possessed me to offer a picture of a toilet door for inspiration edited to avoid @Dad3353 's flying car

yep its the toilet door in @Leonard Smalls local, it totally confused me when I turned the corner and it genuinely looked like a random door in the middle of the room . I had to photograph it 😂

I’m with Douglas on this , I had a zoom multi which I mainly bypassed and used as a tuner , when I got the Rh750 it had everything I needed to dial the sound to suit a room , travelled light with that. I think it looks very tempting to go chasing sounds and tones but it’s a road to pecking my own head, so I don’t 😁

I guess I'm the first in then , I am off away hopefully for a week in a few days time so I had to get busy with this. I had a great idea about the door and what it could represent which is the initial point of the opening lyric , but as I based the rest of the tune around that I got a bit stuck , the main lyric will give you the gist of that !

No pressure Douglas , get yourself sorted first, there are 11 days left so plenty of time for someone of your calibre.

I don’t usually do auto tune as the setting up is a pain and it’s obvious , however , this time I am using it as a technique to get closer to melody I was hoping for and the visual aspect of that seems to help !

I’m trying a new way of using it this month ! ive run a keyboard of the ‘melody’ and through the auto tune , this has visually identified the notes I should be using in the vocal . I can then accurately set it up so that I have a visual stimulus to see the variation of pitch to the target. I think it is helping to get it closer , but I guess I won’t be the best judge of that 😂

To be fair , the sign just stated the periods of the door being unlocked. but Prince saw it first , it was a Sign of The Times I’m going to need a taxi out of my own thread at this rate 🤦‍♂️

Having been humbled by the BC collective who most kindly showed a voting preference in my direction for the July Challenge I am honoured to offer the following image for you for the August Challenge. I hope this one offers a bit of intrigue for you, but I do have to come clean a bit on this, this particular image is a scene that is very familiar to one amongst us. It totally did my head in when I stumbled on to it , but maybe that was due to a little refreshment that I participated in beforehand. It has been slightly edited , but is reasonably accurate in its portrayal of the scene Usual rules apply. You know the drill: ✔️ Entries must be <5 minutes and written/recorded this month. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ Bagpipes. please no bagpipes, its August, all the pipes should be in Edinburgh now . panpipes only if you have too. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you. A line or two offering an insight to your inspiration will be good as well , it works nicely on the voting thread. Deadline wise , we will split our just desserts and call midnight on 'National Banana Split Day' , and yes, you probably have till about 19.00 on the 26th, ( the clue given here is that 'National Banana Split Day' is the 25th). I'm definitely getting this day off a U.S. site, but, as today is U.S Universal birthday for shelter dogs , don't paws, give yourselves a treat

😂😂 many thanks , and yes , I have the auto tune as a set default on my vocal track template , then it takes so long to actually work out what notes I am supposed to being singing that I turn it off anyway 😂
