  1. Last chance for a vote guys and gals , and of course a very enjoyable listen through 😁
  2. 😂😂 copy/paste and a lack of editing scrutiny , and we’ve lost a year 😂 I shall revisit this post-haste. 🤦‍♂️
  3. Voting can carry on here for a bit yet , but for the itchy trigger fingers of the challenge faithful , and of course to any willing participants, you can mosey on over ,,,,,,,,to........ here
  4. Here we go then , another year just about over , a new start to the monthly challenges, a couple of days early but hey, we are loose cannons and anarchists, so lets just do it The picture to inspire you is chosen by Novembers winner @skankdelvar who offers the following titbit with the image .. "it's a picture of the universe and everything in it that has existed or happened, is in the process of existing or happening, and might exist or happen in the future. So there's scope to write a tune about absolutely anything that takes one's fancy." ( It looks more like a broken oscilloscope to me 😉 ) Simple rules ✔️ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded this month. ✖️ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ✖️ No Bagpipes. please no bagpipes, the Christmas truce now Expired. panpipes only if you have too. ✖️ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you. A line or two offering an insight to your inspiration/track choice will be good as well , it works nicely on the voting thread. Deadline wise , we will go for midnight on ' US National Pie Day ' 👍, though you probably have till I get home from work on the24th, ( the clue given here is that 'US National Pie Day' is the 23rd ). There's an extra day or so to this one, sweeeet
  5. No probs, I mentioned in the thread that we can start up January whenever we like , I shall get on it, I guess a few people are having a bit of a break and could be busy being creative 😁
  6. Full data sheet here https://www.soundlite.co.uk/WebRoot/GroupNBT/Shops/qjrdndxv3stu/550C/142A/0508/12CD/7489/0A0C/05EE/0192/PD12SB30-DATASHEET-310114.pdf
  7. 15 x 500ml bottles local collection to chester really , they are worth next to nothing but to save a bit of landfill someone should have them I use glass bottles now so have no need for these

  8. Great isn’t it , I’ve still got my copy somewhere 👍 That original hofner violin bass was mine first, from a neighbour, I gave it to him when I left school and upgraded to a fender look alike , Mike went on to a very heavy Ibby , which he still has 😁
  9. I have to say this is some most excellent playing but in the spirit of the challenge is not really what we do. We are looking for a complete song/tune/instrumental, rather than a playalong to the original . Fine work and you can certainly share it in the Recording forums section
  10. I shall try to edit the poll in the morning
  11. I was thinking that, but 4 is an even number and doesn’t sound right , and five would be too many I thought . Ed to add .....open to persuasion this evening mind 😁
  12. where have you been hiding her voice , its fantastic !!! I really hope we'll hear more of her , incredible . I realise its less stress if she knows a tune rather than having to learn one a couple of weeks from scratch , but this is awesome !
  13. The Traditional Holiday Listening experience is ready for your enjoyment. The December Challenge collective have produced wonderful a wonderful musical experience for you to use as an excuse to find some peace and quiet. Its all about COVERS ..... Its all about Covers No, not drain covers No, not motor bike covers Not even duvet covers Song Covers, Yup , you were here last years weren't you ! A quick note that a couple of the toons are Not safe for work/youngsters , they are noted in the preamble to the toons Without further ado , have listen to the fantastic selection and choose your favourite 3 1 @NickD I've been listening to a lot of blues lately, as I find it's good for my bass playing, so while I'm not usually one for covers I thought I'd go for a classic.... Killing Floor, by Chester Burnett (aka Howlin' Wolf). 2 @Dad3353 Not a lot to say about this one; it's all in the song. A long-time favourite, it's become sadly more apt and poignant as Life deals out its cards. They're not all aces. 3 @Earbrass One of the music production channels on Youtube that I subscribe to is that of Rachel K. Collier. Late last year she posted a video about her favourite plug-ins under $100, in which she gave a link to a vocal stem from her track "No Deeper Escape", and permission for her viewers to sample this stem and make whatever use of it they wished. Never having tried my hand at this sort of thing before, I decided I'd have a go. 4 @Nicko Here is my contribution. Its a straight cover of Longview by Green Day. It is most definitely not the radio edit so not safe for work without headphones. 5 @MoonBassAlpha Our cover (Charms Against the Evil Eye) of the Jazz Butcher song Southern Mark Smith, recorded live with acoustic guitar overdubs only, 2nd take. Leader Pat Fish was a good friend and mentor to our singer. He sadly passed in November this year (2021) and will be greatly missed by many. 6 @fingers211 Here's my thingy....It's a first for the 3 string cigar box , 7 @Leonard Smalls I've fiddled with a live desk recording from a recent gig of our cover of Penetration's "Don't Dictate", which also has a hint of "Word Up" just for fun! 8 lurksalot A tale of rejection, reconciliation and redemption .... not safe for work 9 @Nail Soup It's a pretty straight cover of a pretty un-straight cover....... 10 @upside downer I've gone with a knockabout song from 1996 (25 years ago? Crikey O'Blimey!), Scooby Snacks by the Fun Lovin' Criminals who I saw a few times back in their heyday. And, seeing as I can't sing, Huey's spoken word delivery is something that I can get near to. 11 @bussonetthebass New to this competition but just knocked this one together seeing as I'm isolating and feeling like escaping to the studio. Apologies in advance for the singing.. I'll blame Omicron on this occasion.😄 12 @SH73 So, this is a cover version of DP Boulevard's 'Point if View'. Not something I listen to, but I've recently heard it in the radio and thought why not to do something different. 13 @xgsjx The Mrs has asked if we could cover Doomsday by Lizzie McAlpine, proper bluesey song with an interesting progression.... 14 @skankdelvar .......... 15 @lonestar Here’s one what I did..... That's a good size , quality list of entries from you all. Vote for your fave 3 Voting will close midnight on the 2nd January, an extra couple of days to catch up with all the entries Good luck all
  14. Last shout , voting thread will be tomorrow 👍
  15. Price drop bump If you would rather these were in your workshop rather than the charity shop, make me an offer 👍
  16. I have knocked something up which is very not safe for work so don't play this for your kids , well I guess it depends how old they are A bit of a rush production wise, but very much in my usual take/stylee of this months challenge I think. The Fugly Duckling
  17. Many thanks for the help with correcting the ID of this. I have amended the title accordingly , I’ll leave this to run for now but will probably lock and repost in due course. it might help others to avoid confusion 😁
  18. To be fair , you are down under , the guitar probably looks upside down from your point of view 😁
  19. It looks more like a Q4 then 😁
  20. Is this not the curvage that they speak off 🤔
  21. mine has a bolt on neck, so not the NS 2000 mine has the curved body, so not the Q4 mine has the wrong pickups for the Legend 4 Maybe it’s a Legend Custom? Looks like I’ll need to up the price a bit 😂 ed to add I’ve seen a few references to say that the early legends where fitted out as mine is with the EMG-HZ pickups , so I reckon it’s an early legend !
  22. Thanks all, I’ll do a bit of digging then ...... it has the curved body chamfer on the rear and it is a bolt on neck with 5 fixings . the different model names and specs do get a bit complicated sometimes 😂
  23. I have 2 Precision Devices 12 inch drivers top end these are , but on the heavy side , pd12sb30 Barely run in , I built 2 subs from Speakerplans and they were great, but far too heavy to lug around so the cabs went. I kept the drivers because yes, I knew I would build something else and you know how it goes , they are taking up real estate on my shelves and in a reorganisation, just get moved around open to offers I guess, will split £75 each I guess , rather meet up / collection from Chester as they will cost a few sovs to post . Dive in 😁
  24. Edited title as the bass had been incorrectly identified🤦‍♂️ I am offering my Spector Q4 pro for sale it’s a great bass and my first step up from an old entry level Yamaha after I started playing again. It was bought from our very own @funkgod many moons ago and was immaculate then , I would rate it as excellent now , but used , maybe very good 🤷‍♂️ selling as I am thinning the herd a touch and this has been in a gig bag for too long. I am also now have a short scale preference so it’s time to move this on . Slate grey with flame maple I recall, strung with Rotosound 77 flats that have been on a while, serial numbers are there to see as is the general condition. I'm open to offers as I really not sure of the value of it , just working on a quick google. Collection preferred in Chester though happy to meet up 50 miles or so, but can ship in an old gator hard case for shipping and £40 for the case. last photo to show the only mark I can really see , a tiny ding , I had to photo this carefully to see it in its glory
  25. Can you give your dad a couple of quid and send him for a bag of sugar 😁
