  1. Hello Gentlemen, May I come too? As quite a few people here know, I do shows and a bit of demo work with Markbass, so I always have a few demo bits to play with if anyone is interested? I recently started gigging myself with the Casa (Michael League signature head. Its a huuuge sounding lovely warm, retro 70s solid state amp, which you can also drive to full on John Entwhistle!) into a pair of STD121HR cabs, which doesn't appear to be stocked in many places yet, and I also have one of the new CMD101p combos, for starters... Let me know if there is anything else you want to hear, and I can see if I can blag one?
  2. hmm... ! I'm deffo bringing one for demo. I confess when they first arrived I rather overlooked it... I we sent one to play with in my studio and was amazed how good it is, and it is well on its way to becoming the second best seller (after the CMD121p, which understandably outsells everything by a country mile!)....
  3. My son just sent me a picture from Australia. I know no background, I've asked, but its getting late there now, so he's either asleep or drunk... This... It looks ferkin heavy!
  4. I'll certainly be bringing my own Casa plus 2 x 121HR cabs, let me know what else you'd like to see from Markbass, and I'll see what I can arrange!
  5. I am so sorry, I missed this post! I have just checked, the pups are plastic wrapped. I always thought they were Lindy Fralins, but looks like they are actually Aeros. I'm told they are better? Maybe... maybe just subjective... All I know is the bass sounds the absolute mutts nuts and you really need to buy it... Yes you. You know you do. I have had loads of interest in the bass, but from people who are sadly too distant and understandably want to get their hands on it first. It is still available. I have now managed to pay for car repairs, but this beast of a bass still needs to go to a new home, to ease my creaking cashflow. Sad call but the right decision at the moment... If you would like to try before you buy, I am on the Devon/Somerset border near Taunton. I make great tea/coffee, and because of where I live, you can make as much noise as you like! I will also be heading out on a couple of UK road trips, so maybe we can hook up somewhere. If it hasn't sold by then, I will also take it to the SW Bass Bash.
  6. hmm that lot sounds pretty horrible... 😂 I can't wait... sod the bass bash, I'll go with lunch club!
  7. Evening all! Looks like I'm free. I am happy to bring a selection of Markbass, let me know if there is anything specific you'd like to see... Before you ask, yes, I will definitely bring the new Mini CMD101p combo which, along with the Casa is probably the best thing in the range at the moment!
  8. ... And they're not cheap ABS ones, they're proper hefty and substantial!
  9. Actually you get all the bits included to make two Daddies or two Babies! Also included are the bits to point them up/down at a couple of different angles.... Or you could just be wacky and set each one up randomly different and really bugger up your monitoring experience!
  10. I have a pair of these. I opened to test them , but otherwise brand new. Probably the best isolation stands known to man. More info here: http://www.isoacoustics.com/iso-155-isolation-stands/ I have just upgraded my studio monitors. Initially I went for a pair of Focal Alpha 65's, and bought these stands for them. However, within a day I changed my mind and upgraded the Focals to Alpha 80's. I didn't need to test them to see the ISO-155's would be too small for the new, larger, Focals, so the speakers are now on foam pads (on Zaor Misa stands which are already isolated), and these are surplus to my needs. They sell for circa £90 new, so £80 inc post seems reasonable? This is a stock image, but they look exactly like this!
  11. Thanks Sylvia. We are a great and relatively compact community, hopefully some of these will get offered out in the coming weeks, hopefully to one of us, and we'll get a lead on the thieving sods!
  12. Guys, your help is needed please... Reward for info/recovery On Wednesday evening a truck bringing Markbass and DV Mark stock to the UK for MSL Professional was broken into, and 22 new heads and Cabinets were stolen. The police are currently investigating, but MSL are offering a reward for information resulting in the finding of any of the goods and the apprehension of the sods who did this. The dealer network and service guys has been informed, in case any of these turn up for resale or repair, but it is possible they'll go back out of the country or be sold privately, possibly here or on TalkBass. Please get your detective heads on! If you are offered any of the following or you know someone who has, please let me know here or contact MSL on 0207 118 0133. The models/serial numbers are as follows:- Thank you in advance..
  13. ah, and Russ leaves a wide open invitation for pedantry here for someone who wants to take it up!! (unless its big enough for a chair or bar stool!!!) 😂
  14. Thank you! Yes, I bought the bass with the J-Retro pre-installed (which means I cannot sell with the passive plate as I don't have it!). I had lusted after one for so long before I bought it, and now I have to sell the bugger... heyho... Sadly my mobility is more important ( ...not convinced about that really TBH!). I have J-Retros in two other basses, and they make the DJ5 (and most others too!) an absolute monster and incredibly versatile. Big fat tones, punchy mids, or just very subtle warmth. They are all in there...
  15. OK, I'm a little surprised this beauty has not sold yet, so I am happy to consider a lower price now, as the bills on my car are catching up with me... This is my beautiful Black Sparkle DJ5, and with deep regret this beauty must go for all the wrong reasons. My car gearbox needs replacing and I can't miss gigs because I have no transport.... Its an absolute peach, but I can't afford to keep it, though a keeper it definitely is. Its a Korean made DJ5 in Black Sparkle with the matching headstock, rosewood neck, with an East J-Retro preamp fitted which makes it an absolute tone monster, and weighs in at around 4.4kg. Looks gorgeous, plays even better than it looks and, as with all Lakland basses to B string is to die for! It is fitted with a very recent set of Elixir 45-130s, with very little playing time on them. The body is unmarked, and no buckle rash, it will come with the original cream scratchplate in addition to the white pearloid one currently fitted, in a tidy Ritter Gig Bag. There is a small bruise in the timber on the back of the neck as shown in one of the pics, but thats the only blemish, the lacquer is undamaged, and unnoticeable when playing. It came to me with silver knobs and I am inclined to sell it with these. The black ones in the pic are from another bass, but I am happy to leave them on here for a consideration if preferred...
  16. Oh, Mojoke what on earth are you thinking...? This price revision is a pre-Christmas special offer only... stupidly good prices for these great cabs, jump while you can! I'll just hang onto them if they don't sell here 121H @ £275 £260 151p @ £350, £280 or both for £600 £525!! (Current new street price £844 for both)
  17. aaah! I think you may have ordered yours with the wrong cable (unless you got both) if there is an inline stick, then it has a microphone in it and the push button is an "answer call button" you'll also be able to tell if this is the case as the IEM cable has three (TRS) contacts on the 3.5mm plug, the telecom one has four... it'll still work though... (doesn't give you talkback capability though... that'd be quite sweet if it did!!!)
  18. Push to open, It opens to put in batteries... there is also a mono/stereo switch in there. The guitarist in my band has the £134 Fischer. if you pull them apart and remove the covers with the branding on it is virtually impossible to tell them apart! The XLR can be wired with a mono cable, or a Y-cable for stereo.... The ZS10s are like custom moulds, (most generic buds too actually) that they need to seal into your ears for them to sound right... If they don't sit in place try using different sized tips. I find the foam ones best. roll them in your fingers to warm and compress them as small as they'll go, the pop them in, and the foam will expand to form a seal in a few seconds
  19. OK, I am having my own Cabinet Reshuffle... (don't ask, the answer is YES, of course I am staying with Markbass, ya crazy damned fool!) So, here we have my Markbass Traveler cabs, which are in bang tidy condition, two and a bit-ish years old, and as we all know, sound stunningly awesome. This combination has always been viewed as bucking the received wisdom of the usual 1 x 15 plus 2 x 10, but I have always found I can get close to that tone when needed, but with much more versatility for fatter tones. I am looking for the following:- The price revision is a Christmas special offer only... stupidly good prices for these great cabs, jump while you can! I'll just hang onto them if they don't sell here 121H @ £275 £260 151p @ £350, £280 SOLD Collection (Devon), I can meet you somewhere if we can make that work, or I can ship at your expense, but UK only please (only because of practical considerations!). Many thanks for looking! (Henry has been at them since these pics were snapped last week, and they look lovely and non-dusty now!!) I can even put the inspection stickers back on if you want them! PS. Similarly, please don't ask "where they were made?" or you will likely get, at best, an impatient response!! If you care that much and think you have magic ears that can hear "countries", then research the horn colour of the 121h....! 😂Love ya really!
  20. They are very aware of this, and its negative effect. Its all being discussed between Future and exhibitors this week, so expect some news/detail in the next few weeks...
