  1. OK, so I left my ZS10s running in for a couple of hours on my audio interface, running Spotify... They are definitely better for it, and they are definitely growing on me! I've also run them through all the IEM gear I have here, which includes LD MEI1000, a Sennheiser ew300 G3, and a Shure PSM200 (Buds aside, I've not done that comparison before... the ew300 is best by a country mile, but I've got to say, IMHO I think the LD is better than the Shure... now that was a surprise!). All good with the ZS10's, plenty of output to drive them with all systems.... As you said @dood , as a spare pair of back up generics or when you don't want to carry your really expensive ones out and about, these really are a no-brainer... You definitely need to replace the tips with some decent Comply ones, as the ones they come with are pants!
  2. I send the kick out to an octaver to fatten it up...
  3. [Sound engineers yacking on a Bass players forum, not a sound engineers forum alert!] Ideally a boundary mic (My preference is a Shure Beta 91a) inside the shell, and a second mic (Audix D6 all the way, it has such a nice punchy smack to it!) on the outside of the front head [/forgiven!]
  4. I think you've nailed it right there. I have so far tested them with my phone (Samsung S8 - No noticeable difference between M6's and ZS10s here at all), my studio interface/mixer (KMI K-Mix - with a slightly higher headphone gain, they are definitely working better!), but not with my IEM gear yet.... I'll try and do that this evening! The low end issue... there's plenty there, I just expected more... for testing bass I used Boz Scaggs - "thanks to you" and my current fave PA setup test track, Umphrey's McGee's "Booth Love" ( https://youtu.be/3SwFSAGPgWw - if you don't know it). both of those will cause serious issues with crap gear! Yup, same here. I am still totally in love with my Markbass Multiamp, and it lives in a 3u rack with my G55 and LD MEI1000 (still, for the timebeing!), add a midi pedal, a bass or two, and I'm done! Straight into the PA, I rarely take cabs out these days!
  5. The guitarist in my band was quite impressed.... Crap video, but you get the point hopefully!
  6. @EBS_freak come on, where are you? Give us your 2p worth!
  7. Off you go then! I'm in on that one!
  8. My KZ ZS10s arrived this morning They take quite a bit more energy to drive than M6 Pro's but they definitely have more separation and clarity, and sound bloody great, but a replacement for 64Audio, UE, JH, etc they are absolutely not! I was expecting more low end, sub and low mid... However, they were £33!! For spare Generics (for deps, etc) I'll probably stick with carrying some M6's, but for myself, I will happily use the ZS10s until I can afford to get customs done... Has anyone else pulled the trigger yet? Would be interested in your thoughts!
  9. I cannot answer that at this time... I will do once the poll has closed! My own position on this has been lodged in a secure and trusted brown envelope, in safe and trusted hands, to be shared publicly tomorrow evening! Glory or humiliation, public either way! All I can say, by way of explanation, is that between Devonians and the Cornish, there is an ongoing argument about the correct way to present scones for a "proper" cream tea! In Devon the clotted cream is put on first, almost like butter some would suggest, followed by the jam. However, in Cornwall (weirdos), they put the jam on first, followed by the cream.... Who is right, who is wrong, and why.... More importantly the betting world is watching! However, I would request that this is a poll about FOH PA, not scones, or the bitter and sometimes violent rivalry between the good people of the South West corner of this fair isle! We can do a poll about that tomorrow evening, but keep this Music based please!!
  10. In the interests of fairness (and of still not declaring my hand!) I've set the poll to run til tomorrow, as I am aware there are quite a few bass playing FOH engineers here, and for those who question my opinion, maybe 7 votes doesn't quite reflect a consensus!
  11. While I wouldn't begin to disagree with your sentiment, that doesn't help with my point...! Has to be based on 7+ channels on the desk!
  12. I know! Very wrong eh! However, this is less about the mix of drums/mics, but more the way they are logically laid out on the desk for workflow purposes....
  13. I have 50p riding on this, don't let me down!!
  14. Year? Weight? I love 55-02's I've had about 6 now, always up for a deal if its light enough!
  15. ...and makes Sebo from DV Mark (in the vid) look like a bloody giant!
  16. Mini acoustics do seem to be great, useable instruments, the Paul Brett looks really cool, I would never have thought the tension on a 12 string would work on something so small... gonna have to hear one of those... have you any links for the 12 string?
  17. I know exactly what you mean! Jazz or precision all the way normally! I know that MB make a Preamp for some Cort basses, but having googled it, that has one less knob, so its something different again.... If they work to their usual processes, it probably won't get launched until Winter NAMM so we might have a while to find out what they all do!
  18. They won't arrive for 3-4 weeks, so I'll let you know then.... I've gone for the raspberry flavour ones....!
  19. The colour is called pre-fresian (you'll need to have seen the video to get that...!)!... Or Caribbean green....
  20. I rather like it but there's something about that floating bridge that just looks a bit vulnerable...
  21. Its real! A strat that forgot to put on its trousers!
  22. Just ordered a black pair for £33!!! I'll report back!
  23. HOW MUCH? That is ludicrous! I'm getting me a pair of them....
