  1. I have taken a punt based on reviews on the GruvGear Gigblade Sliver... looks to be a slimline version of the GigBlade 2 and it can't be all that bad! Pricey, but I wanted something good around a ton so I am hoping this fits the bill! Will feedback when it arrives... thanks all for the comments - very much appreciated.
  2. Are Ritter bags still any good? I see Thomann still do them...
  3. Yeah, they do look like great bags but I think I am hoping to get something a bit more streamlined... this is why I was looking at the mono sleeve. Some mentioned to me the GruvGear sliver... slightly scaled down version of the gigblade 2... still unsure really! Choices look like: Bass sleeve (although not much space for additional items...) GruvGear Sliver - i like this as it has a long pocket for a strap... Gator ProGo - can't go too far wrong with Gator! TGI extreme - cheaper end but still very good? Any other recommendations?
  4. Hi all, looking for some recommendations on gig bags. My MM SR5 likes its hard case but I like something easier to carry. It's been in a cheap gig bag for a while but it is now time to treat it to a nice new plush home. I was looking at the Mono bass sleeve, but is it really worth £120? I quite like the gator progo which is a bit cheaper, otherwise I don't know where else to look. Music shops near me only have cheap ones and online you can only guage so much. So BC'ers... what do you have and what do you think?
  5. Lowestoft, on the east coast. I can meet someway if that makes things easier...
  6. Have to sell this now - £700 posted anyone?? Seen something I really want to have a stab at and this needs to go to fund it...
  7. Something has come up that I want to buy... Willing to take a bit of a loss on this for a quick sale... Any offers???
  8. East coast, Lowestoft. Can drive someway to meet...
  9. Reduced to £170 for a quick sale!! Genz Benz CTR500-210T combo - 2x10 - 300watts RMS - in very good condition and working order. This has been a gigging amp for me for the past couple of years and has been left at a venue I regularly gig at to save the backwards and forwards of taking the amp to the gig every week. Its a great amp, very reliable and a great workhorse. I have had two rigs for ages so it is time to downsize both and get a compromise combo/FRFR wedge (still undecided) which will do both jobs. I will post some pics (apologies for the stock image) but it is currently at the venue and I won't be there until the following week. If it sells, I will nip there and pick it up for the prospective buyer. Lot of versatility, good range of sounds and for the price point, punches way above it weight. Speaking of that, it's also nice and lightweight for a combo! It is possible to do a one-handed lift. On that note also, I have fitted heavy duty castors to the bottom for ease of transportation - i can remove these if necessary and put the rubber feet back on. It does have a few knocks and scuffs (only to the outside cabinet), handle is in good order, so price is negotiable (a little) but it is still in VGC and working order. Any trial is welcome and collection only I'm afraid. I don't have the means to pack something this big. Collection at the most easterly point in the UK - Lowestoft. Some info from the website: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=2862&sid=705&cid=95 FEATURES • Full Featured FET Preamp Design • 300W @ 8 ohms; 500W @ 4 ohms • Class D Power Amp and SMPS • Gain and Volume Controls for a Wide Range of Gain Settings • L.F. and H.F., Shelving EQ Networks • Parametric Midrange Filter • Contour Tone-shaping Network • Input Mute • XLR Direct Output w/Ground Lift • Fan Cooling • Multi-layer Plywood Construction • Heavy-duty Molded Strap Handle • Heavy-duty Metal Perforated Grille • 3 Way Tweeter Level Control
  10. Cheers... It's a great bass and I wonder why I am selling... To be honest I have a stingray 5 which I can't part with so want something that sounds different... Probably something cleaner and more modern.
  11. Sandberg California TM5 BASS in great condition. Plays great and is a nicely balanced instrument. The natural finish looks great and it is a well worn in instrument - a few marks and dings here and there but nothing major... Musicman pup to the rear with a single coil jazz pup to the neck. Delano pups I believe with single coil switch for the rear pup if you fancy that more jazzy sound. 2 band EQ with pup blend and main volume. No noisy electronics, could do with some new strings which I will sort out for the new owner. 1 noticeable mark near the rear pup (see pics) and there are minor marks in the natural wood on the back but it's a great bass and a very easy play. Thinning the herd a bit which is the only reason for sale. Can post if required, any trial is welcome or could meet up within reason if needed. One note - this is quite an early Sandberg I believe so I'm not 100% on the model number. I will be happy to share the serial number if anyone could share some light! Cheers!
  12. I WANT TO BE IN THAT BAND!!!!😁
  13. it's hard to be rock n roll playing chitty chitty bang bang and step in time!!
  14. I'm trying not to kill RnR... in fact I can't even remember the last time I was Rock n Roll... 😬
  15. were the Yamaha DXRs nowhere near as good then? I guitarist friend has a Kemper and uses a DXR, but not sure how good they would be for bass...
  16. OK.... i'm seriously considering this approach. I have just sold my TC rig and am looking for an FRFR speaker and preamp. If you are doing it - what did you buy and how effective has it been. I want to make the right choice now rather than buying/selling/buying/selling etc. I don't really use effects at all as most of the gigs i do are theatre based gigs, so I am just looking to replace a bass rig with a wedge and preamp. I had a Dave Hall VT1 (the older version) and this was a very nice pre... Guys - give me your recommendations! Money is limited so will be probably aiming to buy used....
  17. 5 string trades? I have a Sandberg California with Mman rear pup and front jazz... Natural finish... Any good?
