1. Thanks for that Paul... i do like the blend option but to be honest, I rarely need it!! I think I have only ever played 1 Muse song once! But the ability to drive it a little could be quite appealing... again, I'm torn to the headphone socket and mp3 input... think I will have to keep my eyes peeled for one!
2. Am looking at one as a DI and preamp. I already have an MXR M80 DI+ which works fine for me but I am attracted to the fact it has a headphone amp and iPod input for practicing... Any opinions anyone?
3. Selling my Made In Japan Ibanez BTB1005E-OL 5-string. An early forerunner of the Prestige range, although not badged as such. Got this from lowregisterhead a while ago (his pics but it is exactly the same), but gassing for something I have my eye on! Had it set up and restrung, and will add a nice padded gig bag with the sale. NEW AND FINAL PRICE DROP TO £450 DELIVERED IF IT DOESN'T GO AT THIS PRICE I WILL BE KEEPING IT (or it goes on eBay!) [s]NEW PRICE DROP TO £495!!![/s] This is a lot of bass for this money!!! Need to shift it due to financial issues... In pristine unmarked condition, 35" scale, Bartolini soapbar pickups and ITMB-18 18v preamp. Really lovely to play, with a great array of tones but I'm leaning towards a precision-esque bass so am going to see what's about. Got my eye on something as well... This is not to be confused with the current Indonesian made BTB range - the Japanese made instruments are far superior IMHO. Will be sad to see this go as it is a lovely bass but needs must... Will courier at buyers cost (negotiable) as have some packing material at the ready.
4. One of these?? Ibanez BTB (Japan) 5 string... Plus some cash??
5. I have a japanese made (the better ones!) Ibanez BTB 5 string... immaculate condition with twin soapbar bartolinis ... this plus some cash your way? Looks like this...
6. Shure SM57 in excellent condition. No packaging as it has been in my mic case and now surplus to requirements. Please add £5 for postage... Collection from Great Yarmouth area. Cheers!
7. In excellent condition... No packaging as has been in my mic case and now surplus to requirements. Please add £5 for postage! Price is firm...
8. Anyone know where I can get one without spending £60 at Ernie Ball?? Trying to find a white pearloid one... Cheers!
9. Got a pedal from David - exactly as described. Thanks and well recommended!
10. I have owned 3 stingrays in my time... each time I move one on, I miss not having one and get another. In short, I know exactly what you mean although I haven't had as many as you! I went through overwater, sei, and a couple of others before realising that a Stingray just does it - no questions asked! I think discreet said it best - we forget how much of the tone comes from the players and that eternal search for the next bass should be better spent practicing!! If i had all the hours spent searching BC and online music shops into bass practice hours - I would be Victor Wooten!! Oh well... back to the classifieds...
11. Its this one on Amazon... not band nick but works fine. http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B003R7KU4E Collection only from Great Yarmouth - postage would be too much grief as I have no box...
12. Aah, that's a shame. Far too far to collect... No probs!
13. Cheers for that, still debating on whether I want distortion as well!! Might be in touch...
14. Can u post or email some pics for condition??
15.
I've been doing iem only gigs for years. The mxr m80/81 is great, transparent, and the eq can be incredibly useful. The hartke bass attack is good, and works really well. It has the classic hartke sound on tap, and has an effects loop too. Behringer make a clone of the sansamp bddi, it's pretty good as long as you can get on with the ampeg tone. Edens wtdi is great but the gain is VERY sensitive. I own all of these and have used them all in anger. My first choice is always my mxr m80. Very versatile, and has a separate drive channel, which can sound awesome with judicious use of the blend control
Thanks for that - I was considering the MXR as well - a m80 also appears to have the over drive function whilst the 81 has the swept control... decisions!
16. I did consider the microbass as I previously had a hd350 and downsized to a reidmar... They are quite expensive though as you say... Is that recommended then??? Eq wise... I think a 3 band swept mid would be desirable... Not worried about compression and distortions would be good but not essential... Haven't used one like this so would appreciate any recommendations...
17. Yeah I had a read through this post previously - I'm not a metal player and most of the things I do is theatre work and function based work so I guess I'm looking for something as versatile in tone a possible. Any other thoughts??
